Questions for this shipment:
Question:
hello shipper. we could pick up in nj between 7/7-7/9 and deliver to you for $2700.please check my profile when you have a moment. (6/29/2008)
Response:
I placed an offer and expect to be able to make a deal for the boat. The salesperson said there should not be a problem to close the deal before the 7th. I need notice your bid is not listed with the others I have received. Please make it a formal offer so I know it is official. Thank you and hope to see you when you deliever my 'new' boat. (6/29/2008)
Question:
If you have an opportunity, please review the following federal government website. Giving this site is allowed per Uship rules. http://www.fmcsa.dot.gov/safety-security/eta/part390.htm states over 10,000# combination ,which is vehicle gross sticker + trailer gross sticker. At that weight rating (which is not the scale weight of truck and boat but the sticker gross weight) transporters need both MC# & DOT#. State DOT officers have authority to shut down non-DOT compliant transporters where stopped. Review licensing & insurance at safer.fmcsa.dot.gov This is not legal advice just what the federal government puts into law/regulation, and so you may be informed on transport regulations pertaining to transport of your boat. IMPORTANT: uShip does not screen or qualify TSPs for compliance with federal, state or local laws and regulations. Thank you for your time. (6/29/2008)
Response:
ok (7/5/2008)
Response:
Thank you for the bid request. I cannot compete with the low bidders you have for this shipment as I operate DOT compliant (federal government requirement for interstate transport). I am a full time boat transporter and offer service and knowledge that comes with dedicated boat transport. Best I can do through Uship is $3450, let me know about price and I will place bid accordingly. (7/5/2008)
Response:
Being a retired licensed gen contractor competing against unlic for 40 years I empathize but I am sorry the difference is just too much. If your willing to split the difference to $3,000 I will go with you if you can pickup by 7/14. (7/5/2008)
Question:
Is that the wt. of boat and trlr? (7/5/2008)
Response:
Yes but I am realizing it may be a little low. Angler lists the displacement at 2700 and the dealer estimated the trailer at 750 but I suspect it may be a few hundred pounds more. My guess is under 4000. You probably know better than I do. (7/5/2008)
Response:
Ok-is that a flat-4 w/ surge breaks?And do you have a target $ in mind,I see a lot of bids went by the wayside.Thx,Whitey (7/5/2008)
Response:
I wanted to know the cost before I bought the boat to sse if it made sense to bring in a boat from NJ. The purchase wasn't finale until Wed. According to the dealer its a loadrite dual axle with good tires and new brakes on all 4. I was going to take the last bids but they have not gotten back to be on their availablity. (7/5/2008)
Response:
Ok,cool,I just need to know if thats a flat-4 connector on that trlr. and put rest of trip together so I can bid.Thx,Whitey (7/5/2008)
Response:
I don't know, I would have to ask the dealer and get back to you. (7/5/2008)
Question:
Shipper I am interested in doing this transport for you. I am an experienced local, nationwide and international boat transporter. I can provide references. The total price for doing this would be $4050 all inclusive, fees, tolls, fuel etc. Please keep in mind that fuel is going up every day and has reached $6.00 a gallon along this route. I would pick up within 48 hours of accepting a bid and deliver 6 to 7 days later. Thanks for considering me, Dan-Trenton Transportation (7/5/2008)
