Question: Hello, windinhair here, would know the road whortyness of the trailer[tires, bearings, lights, are the plates up to date].I am a M/C and have a US-DOT#,I carry 750k in liabilty and 100k in cago insurance,I also operate a F-250,and run 47 states, also do you have a spare just in case we have a flat11/05/07/6:00PM-cst.Thank you, please respond (11/5/2007)

Response: Hi,
Trailer has been maintained recently as follows (per seller): Bearings packed within last 6 months, tires good, springs good, lights work and have been checked out for trip, plates are current. Trailer appears structurally sound. Spare wheel and tire are new at time of sale. F-250 should pull it without a problem, Would like to be sure that you are fully insured for value of approx. 25k for all losses.
Thank You (11/6/2007)

Response: Hello, because I am M/C=MOTOR-CARRIER and have a US-DOT# I am required by FEDERAL LAW to have a minimum of 750,000.00 in liability the 100,000.00 cargo ,who transports auto, truck, antique autos bikes, trikes, boats, and any thing eles that I can can get in my truck in a safe manner. My insurance companys name is Sagamore, out of Indianapolis In.Can fax you a copy of my policy, also can fax you a copy my DL.If I can answer more of your questions please feel free to ask.Thank you again, windinhair (11/5/2007)

Question: I hauled a 22 foot boston whaler from the houston area about 3 months ago, and the trailer was trashed from the salt water... Do you KNOW the condition of this trailer? The gentleman I hauled for had to spend 1250.00 before the trailer was road worthy.( He was told it was ready and perfect condition) The springs where heavy rust, brakes and brake drums where shot and brake line were broken, master cylinder was frozen up and bearing were shot.. I am asking as I never want to be in that spot again as my down time was 6 days waiting for the trailer, and even with the customer paying my expenses while waiting, it was costly for both of us. (11/8/2007)

Response: I saw the trailer this past weekend and it was in fair condition. The frame was fine, the springs were good, (minor surface rust) the bearings were recently lubed (6 months ago), the lights had just been redone, there is a new spare tire and wheel, and the license is up to date. For what it is worth, the seller is a doctor who is very into maintenance, and he has since rechecked everything, so I can’t really fault the trailer based on what I know. Also, the trailer was intended for a 25’ whaler, obviously bigger than a 21’, and has a surge brake that he disconnected. I don’t think that surge brakes are essential for a pull of 4,500 pounds with adequate capacity in the towing rig.
(11/8/2007)

Response: Thank you for the fast response and info.. You have seen your trailer, that put you leap and bounds ahead of the other man I was talking about. I will work up a bid for you. Thank you again (11/9/2007)

Question: hi, what's the problem? Do you still need this shipped? When do you need this picked up and how can we help? (11/14/2007)

Response: Thanks for your quick response. Not a good match with the other shipper. Turns out he has a ½ ton truck and the total load with trailer fuel in boat etc. is close to 5500 lbs. (my bad). To boot, he took issue with a disconnected surge brake and rusty torsion stiffener bars (not a significant structural component). I think bottom line was that his rig wasn’t up for the job, since 5500 will go down the road without surge brakes and the trailer is built to handle 8,000-10,000 lb boat. I would recommend that anyone towing this boat have a ¾ ton truck or equal. I will put you in touch with the pickup contact if you want to talk about the trailer further.
(11/14/2007)

Response: actually, we just completed a 27ft 6500lb sailboat and trailer with our 2003 chevy avalanche z66 without ANY towing problems whatsoever. What year was his truck by chance? We didn't have any problems towing the 27ft craft, and to add... my wife even drove a few times. (11/14/2007)

Response: If still interested, pease bid on this shipment.
Thanks (11/16/2007)

Question: Did you accept another bid? If so why is this listing still on U-ship. I have a truck in Louisiana today. We can pick up tomorrow. Need a lift on both ends though because it will be shipped on a tractor-trailer so I'm not concerned with the condition of the trailer. I have another load going to Texas after Thanksgiving. We can do it that week as well. Let me know. Thanks. Allison-Lockview. (11/14/2007)

Response: I think the lift can be done at both ends with some effort. Trailer condition is a non-issue with all due respect to the failed effort by the other shipper. Please bid if interested. (11/14/2007)

Response: My bid is below. Unfortunately it's not as low as the others as we would be shipping the boat on a tractor-trailer. We can load the week after Thanksgiving or this week (my truck is in Louisiana) on Thursday afternoon or Friday AM and delivery after Thanksgiving. Thanks. Allison-Lockview Marina. (11/14/2007)

Question: Will deliver for 1500.00. Please check out our feedback. Thanks. (11/14/2007)

Response: Sounds good. How big is your towing rig? This tow will need a 3/4 ton or equal. (11/14/2007)

Response: We haul boats with a 2006 one ton King Ranch dually. Is the trailer 100% road worthy? And will the boat be prepped for shipping at the pick up location? (11/14/2007)

Response: I have personally seen the trailer and I believe that the trailer is more than up to the task. It is built to handle a boat of up to 9k pounds, and the boat is only 4300 with motor and fuel. It has been lubed and has new lights. I also has a 2 5/16 ball on a surge hitch, but the brakes are disconnected, which is no problem for a load of 5500 pounds. The tires looked good, and there is a new replacement wheel and tire if needed. The owner has been using the trailer between Galveston and College Station TX (about 200 miles) without even warming up the hubs). The trailer does have tube steel torsion stiffeners (for a heavy load) which are rusty, but these are needed for it to work. The frame is in great shape, the springs have been replaced and everything but the surge brakes are functional. This other shipper has done me a real disservice with his comments, and he has my money to boot. I am not happy with him, but want to get the boat moved before winter. Your towing rig will be fine. (11/14/2007)

Question: I'm sorry to hear you had a problem with another shipper. If it was thru uship, they should be able to help you resolve it.When will your boat be ready to be picked up? I am in Austin now.Is the boat at a marina/dealership, and have you considered having it shrinkwrapped for transport? It is the safest way to transport a boat, although we will take the upmost care during travel, that is the way I transport my own boat.Im sure you'll be more than satisfied with our services. Let me know and I'll place a bid officially. (11/14/2007)

Response: Boat is ready to roll and has been since last weekend. It is not shrink wrapped, and your suggestion is a good one. I am not sure of the logisitcs in getting it done. Do you have any concerns about the trailer or load? I don't want to put the seller through another failed shipment. Also, I will want all losses covered insurance for 17,500. Is that in your bid? Do you foresee any issues with the trailer not being 'original'? (The last shippers comment). (11/14/2007)

Response: From what you are telling me, I do not see a problem. Looking at the feedback, though, it states that there is some broken welds somewhere? Have these been fixed,if this is true? If you want a declared value on the boat it will be a little extra. 100-150 or so more. My insurance would cover your boat for the exact value at the time of loss, up to 100,000.We can work this out ,though if this is what you want. (11/14/2007)

Response: Are you still interested in shippig this boat? If aso, I will accept your bid based on your type of truck. (11/15/2007)

Response: Working on trying to get something to come back South. Will let you know more in the morning. Sorry for the delay in responding. (11/15/2007)

Response: Thanks for the update. Will hold on accepting any bids for the time being. (11/15/2007)

Response: Hello, sorry for the delay. Weare still intersted in shipping your boat. Is there any way to connect the reconnect the the brakes? Also, did you find out anything on the welds? (11/17/2007)

Response: Only way to reconnect the brakes is about 1200 in work, according to the seller.Given the weight of the load, I am not willing to spend that. I also requested information about the welds, and the seller hasn't gottn back to me about that. But I will say that the frame is extremely robust and its welds are fine. The welds in question are for the torsion stiffeners, which are small tube steel bars running about 3" above the frame. These are designed to stiffen the frame under a heavy load. Remember, this trailer is designed to carry 9-10k in boat weight, the boat on this trailer is about 4300 lbs and somewhat shorter. If you are concerned, I would give you the seler's contact info. (11/17/2007)

Response: First off, what is your time frame? Next, in order for me to get 1200.00 out of this,I have to enter my bid at 1321.00. That covers uships fees. Also, I know you had a bad experience w/this other shipper, but would you be willing to pay a deposit on this? We do have pay pal, and I wouldn't require it until I actually picked up th load?I'm in Austin, now, so if there is anyone at the pick up, on Sundays, I could go up there tomorrow to check it out. (11/17/2007)

Response: What are the concerns ? The brakes ? We have a yard with trailers in Alabama. If your ready , go ahead and accept, after you accept, Our contact info will be released, I will then call you , work out the details, Invoice/ agreement, names , dates, address's, deposit, phone #s etc., Let me know ASAP, Thanks!! (11/18/2007)

Response: His concerns were the weight, the disconnected surge brakes and broken welds on torsion stiffeners. Both the seller and I disagree with him on all counts. I will accept and discuss with you. (11/18/2007)

Response: No problem, If we have to we will just load it on a trailer. The 5000lbs. seems heavy for that vessel. Anyway, we do 95% vessels, I will wait for you to accept, and we can get the ball rolling. Thanks!! (11/18/2007)
