Question: CAN WE TOW THIS TO YOU ON MONDAY FOR $800.00? (1/25/2008)

Response: Am I interested in finding out more yes! I do not understand why the question is not a bid? The two issues are: 1)now that I understand third party shipping and my insurance coverage, I know my wife will kill me if I don't ask for a certificate of insurance.... I know that I have to accept a bid from ubid before getting that kind of information, but would like to make completion of the deal contingent on that; and 2)I need to check with the seller about times you can pick it up...can you be specific about the range of times you could be at his place in Dadeville; thanks, and I look forward to hearing from you; Bruce (1/25/2008)

Question: sure about the 9 foot beam...it needs permits for all states....let us know and we will bid accordingly. I am delivering a boat in Athens, AL on Monday morning and returning to South jersey home base. Would need to pick up afternoon on Monday (1/25/2008)

Response: Hello: sorry - not sure from website but seems there is a chance that my 2nd answer over-rode my first one to you?? the beam is 8'6" - 1. what should I tell former owner about your flexibility for late afternoon or even early evening Monday pick-up - he teaches at Auburn and I have to ask him his schedule - also my wife will probably shoot me if I don't ask for a certificate of insurance before finalizing payment??? let me know on both; thanks, Bruce (1/25/2008)

Response: Sounds like we have similar wives! I plan to drop in Athens in the morning, I could go directly to your location for pick up. Once we bid, if our bid is accepted we forward all customers our transport package. This includes a vessel prep guide, our agreement/invoice, a copy of a vessel survey we perform (once over) before loading and, a copy of our insurance declarations. If we were to transport this I would load the entire pkg (boat and trailer) on my large hydraulic boat trailer for hauling. Takes a bit more to load with trailer, but you will have no miles added on your trailer. Feel free to check my profile, and pictures and keep us in mind. Thanks, Pete

Response: Pete - thanks for all the info. - I have been in contact with another bidder who has a Monday return he would like to fit this into...but I have not pinned down his time, as well as a couple bidders who would need more time.......; If I am to put my boat seller through more trouble (he has been good to me) I need to call him to find out his time availability - thus I would need a very good estimate when You!! would need him there - with distance from Athens to Dadeville, I wonder if it would not be late afternoon - could it be as late as 5-6 pm?? In either case I need to give him more than hypothetical times to check his availability - unless he wants to work from home on Monday (45-50 min away in Auburn). Also before going to him, what would you charge?? (1/26/2008)

Response: It would be in the afternoon. I could arrange a later pick up for after work hours, but that would tie us up with a heavy delay. If there is access to the boat on the property we can load it without seller assistance on hand. If he has the boat ready to go, we can get it without him there. If I can get it and go, your looking 850-900. I would stop at my yard in NJ unload from the hydro and haul to Long island on its own trailer for the last 3 hours of the trip. Easier in NY without the bigger trailer... (1/26/2008)

Response: I've got a cell phone message into the property owner - he lives in a gated community and I think both he and I would feel more comfortable if he were there. If he can not get back earlier in the afternoon, it would be great for both of us - I know how far it is from Athens to Dadeville - any idea the earliest you might leave Athens to I can give him an idea. The property owner has been great to me, and if it is possible, the Monday pick-up would be really nice for him. It may or may not be possible for him As I would like to, but if he could be there by 5-5:30, would you agree to a bid of $950 - I would add that there is no urgency for you to get it up here from Jersey, if that helps on your end...Bruce (1/26/2008)

Response: About how far are we looking for Athens to Pickup location? The Nj to Ny destination is good as I would do that leg the day after I return to NJ. (1/26/2008)

Response: actually the trip from athens to dadeville is closer than I thought (with respect to a potentially longer hold-up for you depending on your drop time in Athens..) Mapquest gives me 210 miles (about 3.5 hr)- homeowner/seller has not called me back yet..., but I will call his house soon; thanks for your effort/time on this; Bruce (1/26/2008)

Response: No trouble at all Bruce.. (1/26/2008)

Response: I just talked to the homeowner - he can be ready at 5:30 pm on Monday - if you can bid $950 to pick up my boat my boat in Dadeville, AL, please bide on it...Bruce (1/26/2008)

Response: roger that. Will do. (1/26/2008)

Question: Shipper is this a matter of getting it picked up quickly or picked up and delivered quickly? I believe we might be able to help you. thanks ddonaldson Marine Transport (1/28/2008)

Response: Thanks for the question; the matter is that I want it picked up in Alabama quickly (ideally less than 4-7 days??? scheduling around the former owners work schedule) - as long as the boat is safe, I could wait much longer for delivery.....if that fits in your schedule, I would love to hear from you; Bruce (1/29/2008)

Response: Shipper picking up in the next 4-7 days is not a problem. and as I told you we have a storage facility in Anniston,Al that is secured if needed,at no charge to you.thanks ddonaldson Marine Transport. (1/29/2008)

Question: Good morning shipper, Robert here. I could pick this up right away if you need. I would have to charge $1,100 to haul this to the Island. (1/29/2008)

Response: Robert - any chance you could cut the price just a tad ($1050 if this can be done well?) and be willing to accomodate the former boat owner's schedule (probably best around 5 pm or weekends as he works about 45 min from home and I hate to put him through more hassle)? regards, Bruce (1/29/2008)

Response: Hi Bruce, I would like to be able to meet your time and price if possible. I have two issues with the time for this route. Right now I am getting ready to head north but am currently 660 miles south of your pick up so if I left right now my earliest arrival would be about 8PM. If I leave tomorrow then I'm a day behind my planned schedule. The isuue with price could be met if you met me in NJ but if I have to go onto the island the traffic and time is what it is. Let me know if there is any flexibility in pick up time frame? (1/29/2008)

Response: This is where a phone would have really helped but there wouldn't be a web-site then.......first, my wife is out of town and I have kid duty, nor would it be worth this cost to me picking it up in Jersey until I've exhausted other options.
From what I can tell from your schedule, this will not work out - but to be clear, first, I think there is a very very high probability you could pick it up at a reasonable time this evening if that helps; second, the delivery date is not important....; and third, if you had someone coming through Alabama over the next several? days, that might work if another offer (with the reliability indicated in your website) does come through soon (1/29/2008)

Response: Bruce, do I understand correctly that the pick up time issue is because the vessel is at the sellers home and needs to be after 5:00 PM? If that's the case then the time should be no issue. If I did leave today and arrived there tonight too late I expect we could hitch up in the morning before seller departs for work no? (1/29/2008)

Response: I'm sorry to have been away from e-mail, since 1am this morning - didn't expect so many important meetings between teaching today......You are correct, but I'm probably too late, that there is a high probability that you could get the boat either this evening or early in the morning....I have more e-mails to read, but if it turns out you are still interested, we would need to come to an understanding about drop-off/price; Bruce (1/29/2008)

Response: It happens. I am a bit flexible with time but want to get going if nothing does develope soon. The sooner we can lock this in the better chance of getting tomorrow morning otherwise it'd be tomorrow evening which could also work but increases my expenses. I bid $1080 below to bring to you. (1/29/2008)

Response: Robert: I want to confirm what we are talking about and ask if there is someone back in your office who ,after I accept a bid, can send me either/or a certificate of insurance or DOT#???. I'm sure we've each had long days and I'm working to get caught up again on our communication; although $1080 is significantly more than I'd planned to spend, right now it is worth it to me to get this done, and right now I'm willing to pay the $1080 (not necessarily a price I would accept from a another bidder if this falls through). I just talked to the former boat owner in Alabama - forget if you told me where you are coming from, but remind you he is on Central time (don't want to insult you, but just in case you are east of there, and tired/moving quickly. Most importantly, he said that you would need to get there before 10 pm tonight, and that tomorrow morning was not good. (1/29/2008)

Response: Well, I can fax or email our liability cert. right from my hard drive here but the umbrella for the company would not be with me. before 10 PM is not possible tonight so it'd have to be tomorrow after five and yes I know it's 1 hour behind EST. (1/29/2008)

Question: By the way... If you're going to insure your boat do so now and you should be covered fully for the vessel even during transport. This is what most all our customers do that way they don't have to worry about freight claim procedures which I understand are a nightmare according to my agents. (1/29/2008)

Response: p.s., you are answering very quickly, but right now I'm glued to PC while kids are waiting for me at home - if you get this and need to ponder.. let me know so that I can leave; thanks, Bruce (1/29/2008)

Response: Sorry I logged off for a while as my cell phone broadband had to charge. My liability is covered for all contents and attachments to my truck. I have never had a claim so I no not first hand any issues regardiug such. I can arrange pick up anytime tomorrow but I am still in south florida so still 660 miles away to get there. (1/29/2008)

Response: Thanks for getting back...hopefully kids are managing....(but not your fault). I just talked to homeowner, and he leaves for work so early that early a.m. will not work for him - so if you are up for doing it 4:30 tomorrow afternoon or later, let me know - I'll be back on e-mail in about 15-20 minutes; Bruce (1/29/2008)

Response: How early? I dropped a dog down here at 2:30 am and a boat at 4:00 am 2 days ago! I am headed north now and will check in later. Tomorrow afternoon OK if only option. I have renewed my bid for you till 8:00 PM. Kids, I understand as I have three the youngest having autism... (1/29/2008)

Response: Sorry - for probably empty message - kids did not want my cooking and stopped for Italian.......I will look at your bid and likely accept..........I understand your wanting to come north, and suprised we are still talking - to re-iterate, the homeowner is willing to be there and ready at 4:30 pm tomorrow - instead of my being the continual go-between (several days now) I will put you in touch with the homeowner directly - I suspect he can not get home much earlier because he and his wife commute together to Auburn (I think about 40 min away - 4 weeks ago when I visited seems like an eternity now). If I approve of the bid in the next email, I'll wait about 15 minutes for you, if I've confused you in any way - so that you can retract it, or you can send me a message and I'll hit the accept key. (1/29/2008)
