Additional Information: I would like to ship this vehicle anytime between December 26 and January 10. The vehicle is being shipped from Rochester, New York to Fort Myers/Lehigh, Florida. The Florida address is a gated community but I can arrange access to the community and the car can be left in the driveway if I am not there. I would also like to ship the vehicle loaded with inexpensive household items and clothing if allowed. Report a Violation

Question: Hi ! Thank you for requesting our review of your requirement here on USHIP. With the noted timeline, we wouldn't commit this far in advance, given the holiday period. We have bookmarked your item, but feel free to accept a bid from another contractor if you need to make arrangements. I'm assuming you read our profile - that pretty much says it all. Do you want the car to go "Open" or "Enclosed" Transport ? (11/22/2008)
Response: We are not pressed to commit and with the gas prices falling every week it may actually be advantageous for us to wait a month before making a decision. We would like to have the car shipped enclosed transport but would consider open. What we are interested in is being able to pack the car with household items and clothing. Is that acceptable to you? We are very flexible on dates but we wouldn't want to ship the car before December 26 at the earliest. Ideally the first or second week of January would be best. Response: I'm not sure I understand your comment about "Gas Prices" - does that mean you're considering driving it yourself vs. Ship? Anyway, if you do ship, you should inquire with your "AUTO POLICY INS.CARRIER" - about the coverage of contents - regardless of which way you move the car. Then there is the issue of weight - as any trailer has a weight rating for the axles, and your car weighs so much, and if you fill it - that is more weight. (11/24/2008)
Response: The comment about gas prices meant that as gas prices go down so should shipping costs. That is a good idea to check with our insurance carrier and we will do that. My guess is that we have about 300 to 400 pounds of weight; clothing, household goods (no furniture), golf clubs, etc. This is something we would like to do every year both to and from Florida and each year we will have less to take down and bring back.
