Richard, I live in Arlington VA and am headed for MI on Mon: could pickup late today or early tomorrow, and have it there Tues evening (barring bad weather). Have a pickup truck with a cap on the bed. What is your budget for moving this? Appreciate a timely response as I have bids on other loads. ~btlReport a Violation
Response: You're my first response so hard to tell. I've had similar bikes moved similar distances for around give or take $300 since they were passing that area, had a little room and added it to their route to make more money. One guy actually lived 5 minutes from my house so he made it his last stop and therefore was best price. I have no firm price and usually choose the lowest bid.Give me an idea of how much you want to do it. If it's like the above amount I'll cancel the auction and award you the job.3/1/2014Report a Violation
Response: That sounds fine for a price. I looked at the specs for the bike, and it might be a little tall--are you able to drop the mirrors down? Also would you be able to help me load in the back of the truck? ~btl3/1/2014Report a Violation
Response: Yes, the mirrors do unscrew and can be removed. This is like a bicycle and you certainly wouldn't need much help unless lifting it onto bed of truck. Present owner will be there to release bike and will do any removal of equipment to make it fit and secure. Will help loading on bike. What is the height max inside your truck? Would be concerned windahield and handlebars clear it too. Please respond asap...looks like we'll have a deal.3/1/2014Report a Violation
Response: 38 inches makes it through the back, inside height is a few inches more. Have plenty of padding blankets if we need to lay over a bit. What do you think? Sounds like you're on the delivery end... ~btl3/1/2014Report a Violation
Response: Yes, I'm at the delivery end. Please measure exact height distance inside the truck. Owner would have to remove windshield and handlebars if not enough clearance which neither him or I would like to see happen.3/1/2014Report a Violation
Response: inside height measured at 42 inches. What do you think?3/1/2014Report a Violation
Response: need to talk with owner about the 42 inches so he can see what he must dismantle or not. Won't be able to get back to you until about 2:30 eastern but I WILL CALL YOU THEN. Rich3/1/2014Report a Violation
Response: Rich, uship rules only allow us to communicate thru this forum, unless I place a bid and you except it, which we then would be provided each others phone numbers. Don't want to place a bid yet unless you're comfortable with how I'll transport the bike. I doubt it will go in standing without taking ther wind shield off, and lowering the mirrors, and possibly the handlebars. I expect it could go in tilted with the windshield off, and we could pad it plenty...just depends if you're comfortable with that. We got today and most of tomorrow to work it out. ~btl3/1/2014Report a Violation
Response: owner saws he'll remove windshield and mirrors and turn down handlebars so it'll fit. He's available till 5PM taday but first half of day tomowwor(SUN) is preferalble. If this works for you, then go ahead and bid and I'll accept. Let's do it!3/1/2014Report a Violation
