Questions for this shipment:

Question: When are you looking to have this shipped? thanks terry. (3/14/2008)
Response: I was hoping by april or may time frame. (3/18/2008)
Question: Hello - would the shipper (or originating location) be willing to place & secure bike to suitable skid / long pallet or possibly crate it so as to be acceptable for common carrier service? ... THX (3/17/2008)
Response: I dont really know too much about the whole shipping process. My sister has been just holding onto my bike since I was deployed. I could ask her if she has access to a long pallet or crate. (3/18/2008)
Response: Understand & your prompt reply is welcomed ... if you know of someone your sister could call upon to properly prep the bike for common carrier shipment then this would be good ... alternatively, most bike dealers hang onto their OEM crates or crate bases & will "sell" them for reuse .. also some bike dealers will often offer this service since they know what is required ... now another type of carrier like a house hold mover type or contract carrier type may by willing to accept the bike as a "roller" and which of course would be easier for your sister, however the rate may or may not be as comparable to a carrier / driver that can handle the bike as "palletized or crated" freight .. so will put your need in my watch list until you can find out more as to what options either you or your sister has for getting the bike "prepped" ... let me know .. THX (3/18/2008)
Response: I appreciate the helpful knowledge and will be contacting my sister today on our options. If we are able to get it crated for shipment would the price displayed be acceptable. Thanks (3/19/2008)
Response: Well - bike can be secured to an open but used crate base, or a long skid or two pallets "strong backed" together; doesn't have to be crated ... as long as bike as secured upright is within the confines or footprint with no overhang ... fuel drained down & battery disconnected ... if carrier could pickup from the dealer or a "business ship from" location then this would save on "residential fees" ... same would go on the delivery end if a business drop shipment location could be used ... if going residence to residence, then would estimate $550 ... Let me know & thanks for replying ... (3/19/2008)
