Question: Hello. Please read my bid thoroughly for a description of the services I provide & my method of transport. Please click on my username ("Greyhound") located next to my bid to review my U-ship "Profile" page & feedback. By clicking on the blue numbers at the top-left of my "Profile" page, you will open a "real-time" link to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (USDOT). By scrolling down the FMCSA/USDOT link-page, you can verify the following: (1)I hold proper USDOT authority (licensing) to operate "for hire" in interstate commerce; (2)My "Cargo Carried" includes the (legal) transport of "Motor Vehicles" (including motorcycles); (3)I have "Cargo Insurance" on file with USDOT. EACH OF THESE CRITERIA ARE REQUIRED BY FEDERAL LAW FOR THE LEGAL TRANSPORT OF MOTORCYCLES. Please ask any questions! Best regards, "Greyhound" (Kelly Freight Services) (11/6/2009)

Response: Hi, thanx for bid,, please provide more details on the shipment? How do u transport bike exactly and timelines for pickup and delivery?Payment is at delivery or?? Keys do not go with bike?
Notice another shipper has made a bid a bit less, do u compete or rebid? I have not decided on shipping or picking it up myself etc, need to deal with the bike owner currently and then move forward. Orrig looking at shipping bike within next 1-2wks.
regards,
john (11/6/2009)

Response: Hi & thanks for your e-mail. First, all details are in the bid--dates, method of transport, etc.,. Second, I don't "compete"--I'm a "legitimate" motor carrier, which means I am federally licensed & carry several types of insurance, as required by federal law. The insurance I carry is top of the line & expensive. I gave you a really fair price & because of the overhead I carry as a "legal" carrier, I can't & won't reduce my price to compete with someone else who doesn't have to pay what I pay to operate. You get what you pay for. How much do you save if your bike is impounded by D.O.T. enforcement because you used a non-D.O.T. compliant carrier, or if there is damage to the bike & your carrier is uninsured? (It CAN & DOES happen every day.) In that you're not really sure about picking up yourself or using someone else to ship it, I can't justify keeping the space open, so I think I'll pass on a re-bid. Best of luck to you & regards, Tony K. ("Greyhound") (11/7/2009)

Response: Hi
The reason for rebid was I added a pic to the listing and extended the date,,, and didnt notice it kills my active bids.
Your bid is very competitive,,, and I like to consider it if you rebid,,, I have to convince the guy at other end as I am buying this bike, just need to make other guy comfortable about the process. If you rebid,, do you require keys or those are kept by seller/me? There is also a manual and cover,, they can go in saddlebag?
Look forward to hearing from you,
have great wknd,

Response: when are you in the claremont area? (11/6/2009)

Question: How could the seller possibly be leery of you sending him money and having a delivery company pick it up? (11/15/2009)

Response: Hi, seller is now ok with it all. Will be ready to ship within the week. Just waiting on payments to clear. When are you in Claremont area ? Being a relatively short trip,, are you in Niagara the next day after pickup or???
I have not picked a shipper yet,,, I had few bids on here but they expired when I made changes to shipment. I also received quote of $302 from Domestic auto transport and another shipper.
john (11/15/2009)

Response: We will be in NH in 5-7 days, and then up to Burlington VT for 2 days. We could pick your bike up on the way up or on the way back down. Once we pick it up, delivery would be the same day or next day. Also, I will submit a new bid for you. -Doug (11/15/2009)

Response: Hi
Your trailer going to be hauling other items north? Do you have DOT certification to transport? If I choose you,, need to make sure delivery dates work. Cant get to location to pickup at all on 24th as I work a 24hr shift.23rd or 25th work well and pickup can be between 9-3pm as I am taking the bike to Canada and cannot cross border with bike after 4pm and not on wknds apparently. I need 1.5hrs notice before arrival as it takes about 1hr to get to the Niagara location for me.

Response: The 25th should work great. We have DOT and MC numbers and 50K cargo insurance. Meeting at the border within a time frame, as well as giving you plenty of notice is no problem. I could even meet you later than the 25th if you prefer. -Doug&Kari (11/17/2009)
