Question: Dear Shipper , I would be willing to haul this for you in your time frame. I hold a Class A CDL drivers license with a perfect driving record. I work for a national transport co out of IN. that delivers RV'S all over the US and CANADA. Would I need to arrange a broker or would you handle that. Is there current license on the trailer or would I need to use my transporter plates. Are all the lights, tires, brakes, break away brake cable, bearings, ETC. all in good working order and DOT compliant. Please check out my profile under debcott in the service providers link. I look forward to doing business with you. Thank you Scott J. @ debcott a division of Star Fleet Inc. What is the GVWR of the trailer. If it is over 14500lbs anyone that hauls this trailer for hire has to have a CLASS A CDL LICENSE. That is anyone accept the owner. That high of a gvwr combined with the truck gvwr will most likely put it over 26000lbs (5/17/2008)

Response: Hi Scott
Scott can you pick up this trailer Thurs. morn the 22? That would work better for us. No broker needed as I am handling this procedure. Can you please use your transporter plates as our plate will not be registered to us till in Canada. Yes everything works and the GVW is approx. 14,000lbs.
Will wait to hear from you soon.
Dave (5/17/2008)

Response: Dave sorry I didn't hit the respond button before I answered your question just read the next question down. Thank you Scott J. (5/17/2008)

Response: Hi,
I am wondering why you cancelled your bid, could you please let me know. thank you jude (5/18/2008)

Response: I did not cancel my bid . I am Scott. From what I can tell I am the only person you folks have talked to. And I really Like Birthday Cake? (5/18/2008)

Question: Hello shipper, Everything seems to be ok with that time frame as of right now. The only problem we might have is your target price. It is just a little low with the price of fuel right now. Can you help????? Thanks again Scott J. (5/17/2008)

Response: Hi Scott
We just got other offers at our target price, would like to use you as you were first.
Also the dates we have set are a must.
Let me know asap, sorry about not being able to go higher.
Davw (5/17/2008)

Response: Dave, Are you sure that you will handle broker and fees for crossing into Canada. If you can give me until Monday AM. to check with my dispatcher to make sure that this is OK and they give me the green light I will do it for your target price. But like I said I need to talk with Star Fleet first. Not to get permission, but to make sure that there are not any hang ups at the border. Make sure the other bidder has a way to handle the License Issue also. Because depending which port of entry is chosen will also depend on which transporter plates I must use. Montana does not honor the MN. plate which I normally use . If I have to go thruogh MT. I also have to get a permit and use a MT. plate while I am in MT. Please respond Scott J. (5/17/2008)

Response: Scott
Did you get my answers to my questions. is there any way we can talk on a land line?
Davw (5/17/2008)

Response: Dave, did you get my last reply, It shows up on the listing but you did not respond. Maybe you went to bed like I should, HA HA. If you are still around take a look at my last question and please tell me what you think. I will be at this for a while yet. No wonder I'm always tired. You have to have a sense of humor in this industry or you will go nuts. Thanks again Scott J. (5/17/2008)

Question: Dave, I guess I should have confirmed your question also. The morning of the 22nd will work fine, I just need a little more time to try and get some reassurence from my boss on the paperwork. For a commercial hauler if we don't have all the paperwork right going into Canada it can get messy. Really don't want that to happen. I also need to determine border crossing so I know what plates to use. Remember I haul these things for a living and for us commercial guys its not always as easy as it sounds. And right now fuel prices are killing us which makes it even harder to make some things work the way they are supposed to. I really want to do this for you, you seem like good people. PS a land line would be wonderful, you will get red flagged for sure if you put any contact info on here. Maybe not right away, but it will happen. I guess you get 3 strikes before they give you the boot though. I will be waiting for your response. Scott (5/18/2008)

Response: scott
I am Dave's wife Jude, Dave has gone to bed. We did answer your questions somehow it did not send.
Dave will have all the paperwork and fees done at the border. He has done this before so not to worry. He says you would go through North Dakota and cross the border at Portal Sask. Also he will bring an
alberta plate or get a transport tag. He would be at the border at Portal, so no hangups for you. Talk to you soon Jude
(5/18/2008)

Response: Hi Jude, I guess if Dave is going to take care of the border thing and meet me there that will be fine. I know he will handle that part alright, but can you still give me untill Monday morning to make sure that I do not have any hangups with the lady that signs my checks. The other thing is if you could see fit to help out with target price just a little this would be alot easier. It is really hard to get freight out of Canada to help offset costs. Don't get me wrong I still want to help out, but margins are really tight where we are at. Thanks Scott. I saw where the trailer is actually going to the Lake. Is this any farther? Please respond. Sorry it takes me so long, I flunked typing in school, fingers to fat. (5/18/2008)

Response: Good Morning Scott
Sorry I didn't get back to you last night, but it was my birthday. The Lake was the destination on the original tender, it is about 100 miles north of Calgary. As you know Scott our dollar is not as strong as yours, so it will cost me about 85.00 dollars to buy 2300.00 US. I can only go about 2400. Sorry. Jude (5/18/2008)

Response: Good morning Dave and Jude, In a perfect world 29 would be a great number. 23 was a start, 24 is mooooooving in the right direction, how about we meet in the middle and call it good. Lets make this happen. I really want to do this for you folks, By the way HAPPY BIRTHDAY JUDE. Talk to me....... Scott (5/18/2008)

Response: Scott,
The other bidder is MYWIFEANDI, do you know them?
jude (5/18/2008)

Response: Hey Jude, The other bidder is listed in the service providers directory. I did look at their profile, although they have been around awhile it seems as though they normally haul freight or things they can load on their own trailer. They may be rated as one of Canada's best transporters but they do not have a perfect feedback rating. Besides that they cancelled their bid. All the communication on this web site is open to everyone on uship. It is really hard to keep anything a secret on here. Thank you Scott
(5/18/2008)

Response: Hi Scott,
I was not aware that the other carrier cancelled their bid, I didn't think they could do this, but apparently they did. Scott, Dave and I are grandparents raising 2 of our grandchildren so we are on a tight budget. Now lets get this deal done asap as my son is making my birthday dinner today.
Will you accept 2400.00? Jude (5/18/2008)

Response: Make it happen at 25 and we have a deal. then we can talk on the phone, you say yes and I will place an all inclusive bid that you can accept, then contact info will be exchanged, then you can call and we can work out the particulars. DO I GET BIRTHDAY CAKE TOO, THAT HAS TO BE PART OF THE DEAL. NO BIRTHDAY CAKE , NO DEAL..... (5/18/2008)

Response: Hi Scott,
We have a deal, just don't know how to get the birthday cake to you, now is this piece of cake a deal breaker. It's been fun talking to you Scott, you seem like a sweet guy. I look forward to getting your number so Dave can talk to you about the schedule. Thanks Jude (5/18/2008)

Response: IS THE BIRTHDAY CAKE HOMEMADE AND CHOCOLATE WITH LOTS OF FROSTING? IF SO THIS COULD BE A DEAL BREAKER. If it is store bought, not so much. I'll place my bid now. Scott J. (5/18/2008)
