Question: And I am in total agreement with Sam. Looks like your first time and post here. You need to read up on things, as lower is not always better. You have 2 low bids within 5 bux of each other. The higher bid you're included insured value based on the weight is for only 222 and fine and dandy if that is all this bike is worth. To insure its value they would charge more. Both are legal DOT registrants, while the lower is also new shipper, there is no insurance on file as of yet. Also, they require all up front at pick up. Just because fruit looks good on the outside...lol Only posting to help educate you...and pointing out things new people overlook in decisions which could lead to problems in your shipment. Response: Hi Brent and thank you for the reply. From what I read for dates look like 3-5. I know we will have a truck leaving IL for Atlanta and I just called one of the main dispatchers and left a message. Would this be the earliest it could load? Thank's Jim (5/31/2009)

Response: Thank-you for the reply. 1) One is leaving tomorrow for ATL, this is too early for you. 2) Pickup up here, all we would need to know is hours available once it is ready. 3) We have 7 OTR "over the road" trucks that leave usually Sunday afternoon or Monday morning on their routes. Also 5 local drivers that hit various points in WI-IL-IA during the week for pick ups and deliveries. One of national contracts is 15 miles away from your pick up. All is then brought back, loaded Friday eve/Saturday morn and the process resumes.. lol. Please toss a note when your end is finalized, along w/PU available hours. I'll be able to pinpoint times-dates-cost. We only will bid on things that do happen, and if we're at the 15 mile away point on a pick up, cost would be less than if we were 60 miles away on the dates etc. Down to you? All I need to know is exit number and cross streets to get to you, then I can calc time-distance also. In other words, could easily be $225.00 or maybe less. (6/1/2009)

My only problem is that I may not have an answer from him until after 7:00 am tomorrow morning, which is when the bid expires.
