Question: Hello, this is William Donohoe from The Shipping Shack, Inc. We are able to assist you with the shipment of your Harley. Need to verify the dimensions though. Is your bike customized? The dimension of a large Harley crate is 96 x 45 x 52. The cubic feet for this size of crate are 140. The cubic feet for the dimensions you have listed are 271. Shipping via ocean is determined mostly on cubic feet. Your cost is going to be much more with this extra 131 cubic feet. Let me know, mahalo. (12/1/2007)

Response: Hi Richard. William Donohoe from The Shipping Shack, Inc. here. Thank you for writing back. The cubic feet for the measurements of 108 x 48 x 60 are 181 cubic feet. With the original measurements given of 108 x 60 x 72 = 271 cubic feet. The result is 90 cubic feet which will mean your quote will be lower. Question: Hi Richard, William Donohoe from The Shipping Shack, Inc. here again. I just calculated the cost to ship your bike. It comes out to $2505.15. This is the ocean freight, fuel surcharge which is at 30% now based on the cubic feet, hazardous fee of $200 for being a used motorcycle (battery and oil/gas residue), trucking, etc. The trucking fee I was quoted was high. I can try to get it lowered but it will not be until Monday before I would be able to do so. I will call first thing Monday morning to try to get a lower rate.
