Response: Hello. Thanks for your reply. Our price for this delivery is 1280 total including fuel. The Lexus will need to be temp tagged (the dealer can provide this). You will need to use a customs broker at the border which will run between 60 and 160 (unless you want to meet our driver at the border). 1. No problem at all - it just means you will need to hire a customs broker for the border. They come in between 60 and 160 typically 2. This bid will include fuel and driver expenses. It does not cover unexpected repairs enroute, taxes at the border (GST,Duty, Air Cond excise tax) 3. 3-4 days delivery time 4. We have found that it works best not to do this due to differing personalities in a small space and differing ideas about length of travel day, frequency of stops etc
Please do cover all questions you may have. We have a detailed Client Contract which will cover everything. We will require a deposit of $500 prior to pickup and balance on delivery (visa/mastercard, paypal, email transfer). (9/4/2009)

But I guess the price for your quote(including the customs brokerage) is almost comparable to what I got from 2 transport companies for open trailer shipping. Also I am waiting on the title from DMV hopefully I will get it next week after which I can schedule the pick of the vehicle. The vehicle is registered in California, insured with AllState Insurance, Recall Clearance Letter in hand from Lexus and has valid registration tags till April 2010.

Response: Chris can you assist me in handling the brokerage because I believe that the customs had to be handled at the border if a person is physically driving the vehicle. And how much that generally is based on your past experience?
Also when can we arrange for your pickup since I dont have the title in hand currently. I just have the DMV receipts of the vehicle on my name but not the pink slip.

Also thanks for placing the bid, I dont know if I should accept it now because I dont have the title in hand yet from DMV. Response: Its not the question of the vehicle delivery, its the question of pickup. I live in Fremont and still drive the vehicle. I would be in a position to give it to you only when I receive the title so that you can drive it away and I can fly to Alberta. So you dont have to store the vehicle anywhere. I WILL have to wait for the DMV to send me the title so that I can handover the vehicle. That's why the pickup date is not fixed. Are you flexible on that and now would you still want me to accept the bid and inform you once I get the title from DMV? (9/5/2009)

Response: Ok I will accept the bid on the assumption that once I get the title you would be in a position to pick up the vehicle within about one day. The day I get the title, the same day I will fax over the title to your border crossing. I am little tight on scheduling this cos I want to go out of US before 15-16th of this month and I hope I get the title from DMV soon next week. Can you suggest some broker with whom you would have worked in the past that can help you quick clearance at the border? Or may be if I pay you an additional $100 would you be able to take care of the border customs clearance? There wont be any hassles with that as I can give my passport copy, landing papers copy etc. and since I am entitled to bring one vehicle with me without paying any taxes when I am permanently immigrating, so I think there will be negligible processing time.
