Questions for this shipment:
Question:
is it ready to go.the trailer have plates.bearings good.i can tow it down for your target 450 c.o.d.if its ready tomorrow or next day. (1/4/2007)
Response:
Sorry, won't be ready that quick. Trailer is good and tags are not required for trailers in SC, but will ask seller if temp tag available. (1/5/2007)
Question:
MY PARTNER, OR I WILL HAVE A LOAD OF PETS COMING SOUTH FROM PA WITHIN TWO WEEKS, DEFRAYING OUR EXPENSES, AND THE COST TO YOU. -->$400<-- AGREE AND WE WILL BID. CAPT DALE (FEEDBACK/REFS ON REQUEST) (1/4/2007)
Response:
I have an offer of $375 w/insurance included. (1/5/2007)
Question:
dan4less here, the $375 is with the option to purchase "full value protection." "Full Value Protection" is a very nice insurance that differs greatly from the typical cargo insurance. UShip has a section that explains the differences and costs. It will cost approx $180 insurance to protect a $20,000 boat. If you're only worried about half that amount of damage then divide by 2. You may be able to get cheaper insurance yourself for the cargo and I may be able to shop around depending on the amounts you want covered. I'm happy to take your load but if it cost me $180 up front for insurance and then I have to pay for fuel it wouldn't be a very good move on my part, wouldn't you agree? As always, insurance is up to you, I can get it and charge exactly what it cost me or you can get it. THANKS. (1/5/2007)
Question:
INSIDE transport for your target by a professional. Much less complicated...you get what you pay for. If interested, let me know. Thanks (1/5/2007)
Question:
(1/5/2007)
Response:
I won't ship with anyone without proof of insurance. (1/5/2007)
Question:
You cannot just purchase $180 worth of insurance and transport a load .. if you have proper DOT authority in the first place, then the DOT will make sure that you have the right insurance, then you wouldn't even need any "trip" insurance. (1/5/2007)
Question:
dan4less again, you can purchase any insurance for anything. I could insure my left pinky toes toenail from getting a hangnail. As for single load insurance. By the way, DOT isn't concerned about the quality of the insurance only that it exists. There are many policies carried by transporters that are decent and many that aren't worth the paper they were printed on. Bottom line is the more specific the coverage the better chance of collecting in the event of loss. Insurance arose with single trip coverage and today the single trip coverage still has a very useful purpose. Read the info on insurance that UShip has and decide for yourself. Don't trust me, I'm only a Consumer Attorney. (1/6/2007)
Response:
And I'm an ex-P&C agent. Some carriers use trip insurance and some have cargo insurance that cover a certain amount of whatever the cargo is that is covered in the policy. Some independents are covered by their policy not matter whose boat, trailer, etc, it is. I will see the policy before anyone hauls my cargo. Thanks, (1/6/2007)
Question:
dan4less..that is NOT TRUE. DOT is very concerned with your insurance. To be a legal hauler, you have to have a minimum of $750,000 libiliby and $100,000 cargo on file with them and they check it every 30 days, if it lapses the revoke your operating authority. Keep on hauling illegally, you'll get caught eventually, I just hope you're not pulling some poor person's boat or camper when you do get caught. Note to all shippers.. BE INFORMED OF THE LAW. It is very simple to call the DOT and ask. They will tell you the truth. Do not hire illegal haulers. If the hauler cannot provide you with a valid MC # (motor carrier), then they are not legal. Point blank.. you can try to talk your way around all day, but it's still not going to make the fact go away that it's against the law to haul for hire without an MC # and PROPER insurance. Trip insurance alone is not proper insurance, unless you purchase it on top of cargo insurance to be double covered. (1/7/2007)
