Questions for this shipment:

Question: Hi! I'm not really familiar with the way this process works so I have a question. Is the $700 being paid for gas, food, hotels fees? Or is that being paid to the winner of the bid on top of gas, food, etc? (10/5/2006)
Response: I hope there hasn't been some confusion with another listing my bid is for $800 to transport our Protege from MA to CA (mid-late November). Hope this helps. (10/5/2006)
Question: Yes your right. I have been looking at so many listings that i got confused. But i guess that doesn't answer my question, so i'm taking that like ur not intersted. (10/5/2006)
Response: I am interested certainly, but I wasn't sure from your response whether you still are. Was is your company name? I asked for bids from so many shipping companies and I'd like verify what company you represent. If you are asking does the $800.00 bid I listed cover living expenses along the way, yes it does. (10/6/2006)
Question: Thank you for your bid request. There is no way I would be interested,it takes me $1100.00 in fuel just to drive there without any other expences. My fee would be $3500.00 to transport your car, plants and what-ever else you would like to transport in a 16ft moving truck and auto transport trailer.Have a great day! Jeff (10/7/2006)
Response: Jeff, Sorry but I already got a quote from a reputable shipping company to ship the car alone for $1630 to CA. We only have a few small household goods outside of the car to ship, so your quote doesn't seem reasonable to me. (10/8/2006)
Question: Hi, I am still interestedin helping you. I am an independent mover, I do not work with a company. But I would be willing to drive your car to California for $1100. I have driven to Arizona from RI and know how expensive it will all be. Are u interested in something like that? Kerri (10/8/2006)
Response: No. Thanks anyway. (10/8/2006)
Question: I am leaving for California on Nov 10th from NY and could take your car then, I also see you are asking for a bid to move your plants as well. Just a little info on this, whenever anyone drives into California they are asked to show what is being shipped into California because of the citrus crop, if they see that plants are being brought into the state they might not let them in so this might be something to check into before you send them and have them held up at the state line. This also happens when going into Florida, its just a little FYI for you to check into. Also if they are in a trailer it would be hard for them to have fresh air and light and watering also would be hard to do and we are now getting into the fall weather and its getting cold out in the middle of the country. Hope this info has helped and if you need to ask any questions just go for it. As for the car I could do it then for you and it would be inside my enclosed trailer and my bid would be for $1775 Let me no. (10/9/2006)
Response: Hi there, Tony. I believe that might work out. When do you think you would be arriving in Folsom, CA? We are more than likely not going to arrive until the 30th of November, but are going to make arrangements for temporary housing prior to our arrival. The community where we will be staying could probably accept the vehicle prior to our arrival. Can you tell me more about your licenses and the types of insurance you hold? Also, as far as the transportation of our house plants, we have all "domestic" types--no fruit trees, or outdoor plants. I got some feedback from the state of CA that in order to tranport these plants into CA the shipper would need have the plants inspected at one of the agricultural inspection stations (I'm checking on their location). No permits are required. Are you also willing to tranport these plants for the price that you bid ($1775)? (10/10/2006)
Question: I would not be able to hold the car until you got there and I am going to be in California on the 16th or 17th. The inspection stations are at every major freeway going into the state and I cross them all the time and they do check inside my trailer. Your car would be insured as long as its on my trailer and also your own insurance would cover it also which most people dont know but is true. As far as my license I have a CDL with all endorsements which covers what I drive. (10/10/2006)
Response: We would not expect you to hold the vehicle. We would call ahead and make arrangements for you to park the vehicle in a designated space at the community in Folsom where we will be staying (on the 16th or 17th). Also, we would plan to make a pay pal payment to your account as soon as we arrived in CA and could confirm delivery of our vehicle--no later than November 30th. Would that work out for you? I am glad to hear the inspection stations are convenient (I guess they would have to be). Your license and insurance information sounds very complete. (10/10/2006)
Question: I need to ask a few question of you just so we are clear on this, you want me to leave your car with someone in California before you get there and they will take delivery of it right? My next question is or you say you cant pay me until you see the car yourself and that could be up to two weeks after I drop it off? This is the part that I cant do, I would need to be paid in CASH ONLY when I drop the car off because your car is the only thing I have to hold for collatoral so I can get paid. Reason is you dont know me and I dont know you and after two weeks of me dropping your car off I will be back in NY which is 3000 miles from you and that is to far to collect on this. I dont think you will find anyone that will drop it off and wait two weeks to collect on the move and not be in the area. So unless I am reading this wrong I will have to pass on this. Sorry and I hope you understand what I am writing about this. Tony (10/10/2006)
Response: We could arrange to have a money order made out to you waiting at the front desk of the temporary housing community where we are staying for half the amount owed (the car keys would be our collateral), and the other half emailed to you in NY from our pay pal account after we inspect the car and confirm delivery (probably the 30th of November). Would this work for you? (10/11/2006)
Question: I think its just best I pass on this and good luck on your move. (10/11/2006)
Response: Sounds good. (10/12/2006)
Question: Hello this TruckerGuy, I may be able to help you with your car delivery. It sounds like it may be easier to make final delivery once you have arrived in CA. As the other shipper stated, it is unheard of to not receive full payment upon delivery. In any case I could pick up the car in November and deliver to you at the end of the month. The plants can be included as long as they fit inside the car--please see my references under my profile--I am in the top five providers with a 100% rating. Let me know as soon as you are able. Warm regards, TruckerGuy (10/12/2006)
Response: That sounds great. So you can do this for the bid of $1200? The plants will fit inside the car, for the most part. My husband's protege' has a sun roof. The two Norfolk pines are quite tall and may need some extra breathing space through this sun roof. (10/16/2006)
Question: Like TruckerGuy said it would be best to drop off your car when you are there and that could happen also. My return trip from California takes me to Mass on or about the 22nd of November and I could pickup your car then and head right back out to California if you want. I just feel better dropping it off when you are there in person and also this way your plants wont have to be in the trailer as long either. If interested let me know as we have time on this. Thanks and I am glad you understood my point on this as I did yours. Tony (10/13/2006)
Response: I thought we had closed this discussion out. I'd like to deal with one shipper at a time. Otherwise, this just gets too confusing. I'll let you know if I am still in need of a shipper for this job. (10/16/2006)
Question: if you can get it to a major airport that delta or united airlines services I can be there tomorrow to drive the car. I'd do it for 1,200 but would need a little up front (10/13/2006)
Response: The problem is that we need to drive the car through about November 29th. Would that work for you at all? (10/16/2006)
Question: Hello TruckerGuy again, thank you for responding. I will keep in touch with you and get back the first week of Nov. Please don't hesitate to contact me sooner if you have any questions. Warm regards, TruckerGuy (10/16/2006)
Response: I am not understanding. Have you accepted my bid of $1200 for the shipment of my Mazda Protege from Gloucester, MA to Folsom, CA? Please make it clear what you mean by getting back to me the first week of November. (10/16/2006)
