My service is door to door and COD, It would take a couple of days to activate my DOT & MC authorities & book the northbound load but otherwise my time frame is pretty flexible. Question: OK Navy, here is the plan, I have a car from Long Beach CA to Sweetgrass MT. Must pickup in Long Beach April 23, then deliver to Sweetgrass on 25th. Would like to swing over to Osburn (388miles) & pickup, most likely on the 26th, your Ranger then bring it to San Diego for my return trip. Please respond to this for planning purposes as I am also contacting other shippers for the return load. I would like to do this for you as your delivery location is closest to my home. Delivery should be approx the 29th or 30th. Please read my previous uShip question, check my profile than respond to this. Response: While we would love to use you because of your excellent feedback and the quickness with which you could get our truck here, we've found a company that will do it for $650. So, unless you can do it for around that, which I doubt since your bid was $1,000 which is what all of our other bids were on here, we have to go with the $650 company. Response: OK, Thanks for the response, I sure can't match that 650, bid so I guess all I can do is wish you good luck. Remember you have a 1400 mile load, at today's fuel prices etc. As as single car carrier my fuel alone will run almost $600. The normal rate is about $1.10 per loaded mile or better. So you must be going with a multi car transporter or broker. Or some one that is not fully legal & DOT compliant. Response: Well we've talked it over, and just for the simple fact that you can give us a for-sure pick up date, we've decided to go with you. The other company was in our price range but it was anywhere between 1-7 days for a pickup which became impossible to do on the Idaho end. As an E-4 and with a newborn, we're expecting the extra money that we barely have to be put to great use with you.
