Questions for this shipment:
Question:
Hi, your pick and delivery dates require the transporter to be layed up through New Years, Can the boat be picked up on the 3rd of January. (11/20/2007)
Response:
Possibly, but it depends on expected delivery date. How long does it take you to drive from Naples Florida to Tucson AZ? (11/20/2007)
Response:
I would load on the Monday and deliver Friday, with a load like this, you really can't travel more than 600 miles a day. I only have the second week of January open, we are booked for the rest of this year and the last two weeks of January. (11/20/2007)
Response:
Sorry but I'm a little confused as to the days. Do you mean you would load it on Monday Dec. 31st and deliver by Friday Jan 4th? Or do you mean Jan 7th to load and deliver on the 11th? If you mean the 7th and 11th, that's too late for us. (11/20/2007)
Response:
Hi, I would load on Monday the 7th and deliver on the 11th around noon. Do you think that would work? (11/20/2007)
Response:
No sorry, the dates won't work for us. (11/20/2007)
Response:
I see the dates want, what flexibility do you have? (11/20/2007)
Question:
The problem is, the holiday's, between the marinas being closed and travel restrictions, it can't happen during those dates. someone may tell you they can to get the job, and when they load the boat and the permits come in, they won't be able to move the boat. (11/20/2007)
Response:
The only other dates that may work for us would be pick up on Jan 2nd and deliver by Jan 7th. Another truck is going to pick the boat up in Tucson to take it to Mexico. We have to be back in Mexico before Jan. 10th. (11/20/2007)
Response:
Hi again, If I was to load on the 2nd, and leave first thing on the 3rd, I would be in Arizona late Sunday. It is a shame I can't take it into Mexico, I have brought a few to San Carlos but things are changing with their Goverment. (11/20/2007)
Response:
Ok, go ahead and give us a quote for that time frame. San Carlos is where the boat is going. They used to let you bring boats into Mexico? I'll bet they tied you up at the border for many many hours. (11/20/2007)
Response:
I have a connection over there with an offical, we used to cross in an hour. Our Goverment was working with Mexico, trying to open the borders to both countries for truckers and then changed their mind, Mexico is now holding a grudge, I made a call over there a few minutes ago to my friend, I left him a message, I wanted to see If anything has changed..If our rate is withen your budget, when would you be accepting, I know you have not closed on the boat but, until I have a commitment for that date I have to continue to secure a load for that slot. (11/20/2007)
Question:
The price I have placed includes escort, permits, deadheading to you to meet timeframe.ect as well as loading and holding over for holiday at my place(Check bid details)I must have commitment from you in advance to shedule and commit to it due to the Christmas and New Years restrictions and needing to order permits and escort to beat holiday cut off at the State levels.I really need to know soon if you find the offer interesting or not, thanks, check out tduncan55(ThomasDuncanTrucking)in service providers directory at uship (11/20/2007)
Response:
I am going to send the broker and email right now with our offer on the boat. He will have to email a contract to us hopefully by tomorrow. Anyway, we will go with your company if everything goes through, which we are 90% sure that it will. What is our next step? Will you be sending us a bill of lading and proof of insurance? I believe you mentioned that if we pay 50% to you when the boat is loaded that you will deduct 5% off of your bill? Is this correct? Thank you, Debbie (11/20/2007)
Response:
I guess I didn't get the question but I do have 300,000 cargo insurance as well as 1,000,000.00 primary Liability.Tduncan55(ThomasDuncanTrucking) (11/20/2007)
Question:
Seems my phone is getting the email as fast as I can respond tonight. To clarify the concern on the cargo. You will have 300,000 cargo insurance at no additional charge. No additional insurance would be needed unless you desire it.Thanks tduncan55(ThomasDuncanTrucking) (11/20/2007)
Question:
Yes, you will save 456.50 when you front 1/2 of the money at the load point.(cashiers check)and the remaining balance will be due at delivery point. When you accept the bid uship will take a deposit(part of total price)and I will receive contact info so I can communicate directly with you.The main thing is to arrange for the p/u at a marina the day after Christmas or asap. The loading and unloading fees and arrangements of course will be your responsibility.I may be able to p/u before Christmas if it would be better for you.I will do whatever I can to help,Thanks...tduncan55(ThomasDuncanTrucking) (11/21/2007)
Response:
This is how I understand the procedure. Upon accepting your bid I will put a deposit down with u-ship. They in turn will provide you with my contact information. What happens IF we can't make a deal on this boat and you have already blocked time out for us? The ONLY reason we would reject the boat is if there is something mechanically wrong with it upon completion of tests we will have done. Will our deposit be refunded to us and will there be a charge from you because we would have to cancel? (11/21/2007)
Response:
I beleive uship will refund the deposit if something happens to your deal.We can not share email or other info until you accept the bid.they will red flag me and could kick me off the website.I understand the situation,I hope it works out.tduncan55 (11/21/2007)
Question:
Also,an agreement on line is available as well as insurance certificate and any other info you require...tduncan55 (11/21/2007)
Response:
I checked your credtentials on safer fmcsa. Your insurance says "cargo on file NO".Can you please email your proof of insurance to me? Also, will you send me a contract or do you want me to type one per our discussions re: pick up dates etc? As soon as I have these items I'm prepared to give the deposit to u-ship. Thank you (11/21/2007)
Response:
I have my insurance certificate on the computer and will email or fax it asap after acceptance. There will be no charges on my end if it doesn't go.I will work anything out with you that I can, just stay in touch.I will call you as soon as I see you accepted the price.Thank you, look forward to the challenge of putting it together.Remember we must set up the marina end as well to see if they are open and able to load.tduncan55 (11/21/2007)
Question:
Hi Debbie, You are asking for a lot of things to come together at the wrong time of the year. Sheduling a shipper is hard enough when the boat is ready to ship, let alone when you have not bought it yet. If they except your offer on the boat, you will have to have a survey done, maybe repairs, financing. And asking a carrier to block out dates and stop looking for other boats to move when your not sure the deal will go through, is just not the right thing to do. Your are trying to plan this, and there are too may varibles involved for it to all come together on time. (11/21/2007)
Response:
I don't totally agree with your statements. First of all we already have "tentative" dates with surveyors etc.,which we've arranged early enough that gives the shipper plenty of time to get another shipment if mine falls through. My husband has already looked at the boat and we are dealing with a VERY reputable broker who we are comfortable dealing with. Our broker told us we need 3 weeks to close and it could be sooner. As I've already told tduncan55, the ONLY reason we would NOT purchase this boat is if there are engine/mechanical problems which we don't anticipate because of the condition of the vessel. I appreciate your concerns but if tduncan55 or any other shipper is willing to "tentatively" schedule my shipment, I believe that is their choice to do so. Also, no financing is involved, it will be a cash deal. Thank you for your interest. (11/21/2007)
Response:
Hi, I all was trying to express to you was that in the marine trades, things very seldom go as planed, and the way you were planning this needed a little more consideration, I am not just a truck driver, I am a bussiness owner I have exstensive experiance in this field. I am not saying you won't pull it off, it is just the odds are against you. (11/21/2007)
