Question: We will be departing Kansas by this weekend Feb. 7th and headed to load a large job in California. Our trailer will be near empty if we do not take on some jobs for the drive to California. With that said, we would like to offer you a very fair price on your job and come to terms with you in a Uship bid contract ASAP. We transport all items in a 42ft enclosed trailer that has 110V lighting, climate control, and alarm system. We insure customer's cargo to full value at no additional cost to the customer. Response: Jim, we will take the car but I will need to charge at least $650 or so to take the car. [Removed Website NOTE: Once a bid is accepted, both parties’ contact info will be exchanged. –uShip]However, for some reason or another there is not a lot available this week on that site for our route from the Kansas City area to Los Angeles. We will actually depart the Topeka area on Fri or Sat which is about 1 hour west of KC and head to Los Angeles--your car is almost directly on our route, other than needing to waste to hours going west and back east in Kansas. Uship removed your phone number, contact off this site is not allowed until we come to terms in a bid contract. I would like to work something out with you so please check your Uship messages frequently. I will work with you on price. Question: Uship has now added a helpful feature that protects the shipper. This feature allows you to click on the service provider's screen name, opening their profile page. On the provider's profile page you should see an MC number, all legal interstate carriers are granted an MC number. If an MC number is not present on the profile, proceed with caution. More importantly, Uship has added protection by allowing you to click on the MC number of those who have provided one, and look at the federal public record to see if that provider's licensing is active and whether or not they have the special licensing needed to move household goods specifically, not just licensing to move non-household goods. We strongly urge you to use this wonderful feature and we applaud Uship for bringing this feature to the site; it was greatly needed.
