Question: can truck be driven ,not haul on trailer? (7/12/2007)

Question: ok..i must be missing something....if the truck your showing in the pic is not running with a trailer, your going to be able to breeze right down the road without the DOT hasseling you. If you were running southwestern states you would have to purchase permits at each border of New Mexico and Arizona without a doubt..but that truck is not going to give you any trouble as long as the registration and insurance is good. What I usually do is put a sign on both doors "not for hire" and cruise and DOT has not bothered me yet. I would drive it for you, but I am in Las Vegas right now and I am not to crazy about flying into that part of the country. lol. plus looks like it may take close to $900 in fuel if I did my math half way correct and depending on the fluctuation of fuel prices. Question: i would be driveing it as it will be the cheepest way to transport it with no lifts involved and no hassle with delivery......otherwise i would have to put it on a flatbed trailler with my big rig and the deadhead out of mt would be to much of a dead head to get fright ....by driveing it i could just hop a bus or get a load from the leaseing componys to get back to the east coast....
