Response: This is the first time I had to have a truck delivered, so am new to this, however after a bunch of phone calls I made today this is what I came up with: Received a quote of $1075 for a drive away service which included all tolls, fuel, port fees, tags, insurance and to FedEx me back the title. I'm also contemplating a lowboy delivery which quoted me $1250 which was an excellent price for lowboy service. I will be in the Atlanta area on Monday to test the truck and to finalize the paperwork. i will make my decision sometime after Monday so if you could do something with those numbers let me know by Monday. Response: Yes it does, I will post a pic of the interior. I will test this truck on Monday but current owner says it runs great and will pass all DOT inspections. (1/18/2008)

Response: Thanks for the bid, never drove these Vovlos before and never seen the truck but it looks clean. I will be heading to Atlanta on Monday to finalize the transaction and will make my decision on shipment after that. Currently, I had a few drive away offers of $900 including insurance and everything. I did get one price of $1100 for a low boy service which I'm contemplating but right now I'm not sure. Response: A friend of mine is actually buying it and sending it home to Honduras to use but he is illegal so I'm taking care of everything for him. It is a Volvo VE7 motor, but he doesn't know much about trucks except that he likes Macks so I will tell him. Someone did tell him Macks had Volvo motors. I told him I only heard Macks were going to start having Volvo motors in the second half '07s. I mentioned this to him but I wasn't totally sure. He gave the guy a $500 deposit and the total would be $19k, if he does decide to go through with it is there anything I should look for? I know he's been looking for a while and has a tight budget and this seemed to be the most decent truck at a price he could afford. I do appreciate your warning and if you have anything to ad I'd greatly appreciate it. My friend is a real good guy and hopefully I can steer him in the right direction, I wouldn't want to see him get stuck. Thanks again! Kev (1/20/2008)
Response: kev he should be ok with the volvo id just rather have the cumins or cat myself but i am curently running a volvo engine in my 2004 volvo did have a little trouble but volvo stood behind it though but cant complain it has been reel good to me yes the new macks are going to have volvo engines ur right.as far as the 2000 volvo id look at what shape the tires are in and check springs probably has camel back springs they are ok (springs that go the oposite way from regular springs just like a camels back)see how bad the floor in the bed is i would want a tri axle that is what i run(THREE REAR AXELS)where you can run 73280lbs instead of maybe 56000 but maybe this will work better for him.check mileage my old one had 340,000 and still ran good. check for power mine when i got it had bad fuel injector pump 1000 bucks. other than that there real nice unitstell him i said good luck thanks (1/20/2008)
Response: Thanks for the info! Checked out the truck today It didn't start we thought the fuel lines froze spent all day trying to heat them. However the seller put in new batteries yesterday and found out today that Volvos have an extra wire to the ocm. Sure enough he forgot to hook it up and once connected she started right up! As for the overall condition of the truck -very good shape. It has 292k miles bed is rippled but has alotta life left, hauled asphalt, rides on an air, however my friend said he can change to camelback for $1800 in Honduras I did a load test and pulls strong, geared low so it's perfect because he won't be hauling long distances. As for shipment, I noticed it needs some flaps n 2 inside tires are borderline. It may be easier to trailer the unit so dont have to worry about the cost of a blowout. I did turn on the seller to this site, who is a wholesaler and will recommend you if I decide to trailer it. Thanks again for your time I will let you know what I decide. K (1/21/2008)

Response: I finalized the sale however the title is coming from Indiana and I have to sign it and fax a copy to the port for a booking number before they can receive the truck, it might take 2-3 days. I would like to use you but if your not local and only in the area today or tomorrow I don't think it will work. Also, the seller has to replace the windshield and tire which should take place today. Response: Hey Wayne, the seller, who is a wholesaler, didn't get the title yet. The title has to be faxed to the port at least a day before for a booking. I'm waiting to here from the guy about the Mack, should here from him tomorrow if we could work out a deal. The problem is depending on the price of the Mack is that one or both trucks may go. If both go we want them on the same ship which goes out every Sunday. I know you have to plan your week so go ahead and I will let you know as soon as everything is in stone, thanks again Wayne.
