How do I find out about insurance coverage and other details like releasing the bike to the customer? Hi: Your buyer requests enclosed transport - and I can understand. But price is ALSO obviously pertinent else he/she wouldn't be on uShip. M profile pictures show my heavy duty 4x8 (w/ 3' sidewalls) utility trailer - which has carried MANY bikes north / south - San Diego to Seattle. Bikes are secured from movement using 2 ton ratchet straps, and protected with either blankets or plastic (which ever is more appropriate) - before the whole trailer itself is covered with a commercial waterproof tarp. True I don't call it an "enclosed cargo trailer", but it is. And you / your buyer, would have - before money changes hands - sufficient evidence of legitimacy (drivers License, Registration, Insurance) and of course at least 3 extra (non-uShip) motorcycle transport references. I leave for Seattle tomorrow from Oceanside, CA, and have placed my bid on the chance you / your buyer sees value here. MichaelReport a Violation

Response: : Hi: I've held off bidding cause this truck engine has given me the fits - and since I have to be back in San Diego no later then the 24th I was worried that if something else went wrong I would be able to make the second trip. But tonight I got it 99% finished and tomorrow I'll tighten down some bolts and do the 20 min break-in with the special oil. If all goes well, I'll change the oil, put the 2nd 5 qts in (with the additive), and leave for Seattle - which should place me there in time to do a U-turn and make a second trip as soon as I get back... next Thursday (this next trip's with your bike if it's ready to go. But our "window" is small for pick-up (only three days figuring a 4 day round trip) - mainly Thur - Sunday, 8/18 to 8/21.. I'll wait then to bid (it'll be $413.90 when I do - for Door to Door) till I stop for the 500 mile oil change - which should be late tomorrow evening a lil north of Oakland. I have 3 other bids I am considering but after doing a little research on one of the transporters I see several fraud alerts for them being an illegal shipper. CORRECTION: "I was worried that if something else went wrong I would be able to make the second trip", should be "if something else went wrong I would N O T be able to make the second trip" Also: Reason I have to be back in SD is cause my daughter is about to provide me with mya brand new granddaughter, "Malory". I'll be watching my grandson while she and hubby are at the hospital. I DO intend to make another trip north as soon as we know all is well with my daughter and Malory - which should be by the 27th. Hi: Just got your e-mail. Glad payment worked out on the bike - it does bring up a point though. As you see in my profile I get payment at pick-up. There are quick and inexpensive ways to accomplish this of course but first we ought to determine if you are OK with it. I've put off the initial 20 min break-in run on my new engine until today for a variety of reasons (the 2nd part of the Break-in will occur on the road. At 500 miles I change the oil again - then, should be good to go). This means I'm still in Oceanside, and yes I will bid because I'd like to bring your Honda motorcycle north on THIS run, not the next - which I may have to be put off because my daughter's so close to giving birth. My bid will be $413.90 as earlier stated - and I'll place later this afternoon as soon as all goes well with the initial break-in (as I expect it to). I would be ready then as early as this evening to pick your bike up and head north. MichaelReport a Violation
Response: You were open transport though right? I contacted the buyer after receiving payment and he really wants enclosed transport, I know you had mentioned wrapping the bike or covering it and I had passed this info on to the buyer. He stated that it would be alright to ship via this method only as a last resort, unfortunately this means that I will have to see about the other bids I have received. As far as payment that is another matter all together. Payment will have to be made with a credit card unless the bike is picked up on Friday then I would be able to do Cash if needed8/16/2011Report a Violation
Response: : Well, while I am technically "Open Transport", with the tarp covering the whole trailer, and individual items - like this bike - wrapped (in either blankets or in this case, plastic), AND, with the padlock on the back gate, nothing gets to the contents of my trailer. Still, I can understand the desire for "Enclosed" transport... The concept, can bring a qualified piece of mind. I'll go ahead anyway and bid - just in case. I just got 9 more quotes from a different service and they are all out of their minds as far as rates!!
