Question: Hello - would the shipper (or originating location) be willing to place & secure bike to a suitable skid / long pallet or OEM like crate base so as to be acceptable for transport by common carrier service? ... THX (2/4/2009)
Response: Private seller is unfortunately NOT willing to pallatize or crate the motorcycle. (2/5/2009)
Response: understand and here's a suggestion given what you said ... many bike shops or dealers have used / salvaged OEM crate bases which may be acquired or will provide local pickup & shipment preparation services … they will “palletize” or crate base the bike properly for common carrier shipment albeit for a fee but they are well versed in this need ... this would also offset common carrier accessorial charges as bike would then be coming from a business type location with a dock or forklift instead of a residential one ... just an idea ... let me know if this might be a doable option & can then bid to suit ... otherwise, will have to pass for common carrier type service as this item would not be accepted for carriage as a "roller" ... Response: Dan, I like your feedback and your price. Do you haul in a trailer or in the bed of your truck? Palletized or just tie downs for a motorcycle? The seller of the bike being shipped has a box (approx 2 feet square) of spare parts that need to come along with the bike. He's offered to UPS them, but could the box of stuff also be included in the shipping of the motorcycle? Thanks. (2/7/2009)
Response: It would be in the bed of my pickup, but my truck is large enough it will deflect any road grime from your bike I will also be tarping it. The extra box can go into the back seat of the truck, thanks, Dan (2/7/2009)
Response: Thanks for the quick reply Dan. The seller of the bike, in IL, initially indicated that Thursday through Sunday were the best days for a pick up, BUT, I've sent him an email telling him that as the buyer I'd really prefer he make himself available for pickup on Tuesday the 17th. Hopefully he'll agree and you and I will have a deal. I'll let you know either way, Sir. (2/7/2009)

Question: I live 10 minutes from Lake Villa (P/U location) and if timing is not a concern I can P/U the bike and when I have a full load going that way I can do it for a good price.
