Response: Actually the 2 pallets I had given the customer a quote of $600 that I had gotten earlier and he wasn't willing to pay that. As far as the 7 bags go, I got a quote from fedex to ship them for $130. Just thought if someone was going that way they could even throw them in their trunk for some fuel money. Thanks anyway. Response: Well there is no such thing as just throw in the back of truck anymore people need to make a profit and a living and if you havent noticed gas prices are going up. for us as an ltl carrier we are offering the really good rates. Please be reasonable as we try to work out better rates. (5/23/2008)
Question: Well if your client isnt willing to pay at least 600 thats his fault, fuel is not cheap, drivers need to get payed freight is a business as well , lets not forget that (5/23/2008)
Response: My husband drives truck......Thing is we also farm. If this farmer can't pay $9 per bag aka $18 per acre and wished to look for a cheaper rate I am going to try to help him....Thing is this is 2 pallets. We have shipped 18 pallets for $900. A trucker can put these 2 pallets on a truck with 16 others of something else and make up the difference. If you don't like it don't bid. (5/23/2008)
