Additional Information:
Two very sweet rides. Both V8's, a '65 Dart Convertible and a '64 Barracuda! Tires, brakes, lights work, both are registered and insured. They are not pristine or restored, but very nice original condition vehicles. Therefore open transport is okay, or either can be driven. Dart is an automatic, Barracuda is a four speed. Please quote a price for both vehicles on the same transport, as I'm thinking this might save me some cash. Or bid your price for driving one or both the 600 or so miles, as they're quite roadworthy. I'd do it myself, but I'm already moving two other vehicles and a moving van in my relocation to Idaho. Easy pickup near I-70 (Frisco, CO) can be arranged.
Questions for this shipment:
Question:
you stated mid august but what would the earliest these would be available? (7/28/2006)
Response:
They can be picked up anytime. The earliest they can be dropped off is August 13. (7/28/2006)
Question:
Yes Yes Please! I just bought a car in Ohio and will be driving it back with 2 friends August 22. I am 33, elementary school teacher, my brother in college 28, and Larry ER Nurse. The 3 of us would take turns driving them to Idaho. What do you think gas would cost for both cars on the trip? (7/30/2006)
Response:
They both get about 18-20 mpg on the highway if cruising at around 65mph, and given their age, they should be kept at that speed max, for safety purposes. Gas for both would about 200.00 at 3.00 per gallon. No need for premium fuel, they run fine on the cheap stuff. Its about a 10 to 12 hour drive, with rest stops, easily done in one day. I like the idea of a caravan. This may work, however, your bid is close to what I was hoping to find for trailering both vehicles, but honestly, it is a bit high if they're going to be driven. I have three questions for you if you don't mind. Where is your final destination in Idaho? What make, model and year vehicle did you buy in Ohio? Do you all have any experience driving "old school" technology vehicles, because it is a different experience than modern cars? I just turned 54 and grew up on these cars. Anyway, I will not have computer access again until tomorrow evening, but I can respond after that. Thanks! (7/30/2006)
Question:
If a 3-car hauler can manuever at drop off and pick-up locations I could do it on my backhaul from Denver area. My bid would be $600 for both. I'm planning on the week of 8/7-8/12, will that work for you? Please check my profile. I also grew up driving old Mopars. Thanx Russ (8/1/2006)
Response:
Russ, A three car hauler would have no problem at either location. Our move is taking place on 8/12, leaving Breck early am. Is it possible we could all caravan out to Pocatello on that date? Please advise. Also, I would definitely prefer them being hauled rather than driven and your price is very fair. Thanks much, Dennis (8/1/2006)
Question:
Hi Dennis, Russ here, I should have mentioned in my response to your question on my bid that I always try to accomodate my client to the best of my ability. Thanx Russ (8/2/2006)
Question:
Hi Dennis, Russ here, sorry so late getting back to you I just got home. It looks like I will not be able to take all three rigs of yours, the transport is mine from UT, so just the Mopars, I'll try to dig some old pics of my old rides. Hope to be of service for you. Thanx Russ (8/2/2006)
