Question: Hello, this is William Donohoe from The Shipping Shack, Inc. Hawaii. We can assist you with your shipment. 1st we need to know exactly what you have that needs to be shipped -i.e. what furniture, equipment, etc. and if any is crated or not. Also, we need the number of boxes along with their dimensions (L x W x H) and their weight (estimate if needed). No one can give you a professional quote without all of this information. It might be less to ship your items ocean freight consolidation versus using a whole container for your shipment only. Let us know all of the information we have requested. We are trying to save you money. Mahalo. (9/7/2009)

Response: Hi Jim, this is William Donohoe from The Shipping Shack, Inc. Hawaii. Thanks for your reply. We need to know if everything is palletized and can be picked up at "curb side" for the pick up driver. The reason being is that it is required for residential pick ups. Also, you can save money if you are able to drop off your shipment in Gardena and pick up at the port on The Big Island her in Hawaii. Let us know what works best for you. We will submit a quote accordingly. Mahalo (9/9/2009)

Response: I could deliver to Gardenia and pick up at port in Hawaii. I moved everything here in a 17 foot U-Haul.
In that case, how much? and do I load the pallets in Gardenia? Thanks, Jim (9/9/2009)

Response: Hi Jim, this is William Donohoe from The Shipping Shack, Inc. Hawaii. Thanks for your reply. You would need to load your pallets there in Gardena at the warehouse. Your charges would be based only on port-to-port, ocean charges only. Let me know if you are willing to do this. We will submit a quote accordingly then. We are looking forward to assiting you. Mahalo (9/10/2009)

Response: I am willing to load pallets in Gardenia.
Are they 4'x4'? How high do I stack and do I bind with tape? Do you provide, rent, or sell pallets?
Thanks William, Jim Fitzpatrick (9/10/2009)

Response: Hi Jim, this is William Donohoe from The Shipping Shack, Inc. Hawaii. Thanks for your reply. I apologize for not getting back with you sooner. They have new rules that were implemented there at the warehouse in Gardena. Per insurance company, no one can palletize their items there any more do to liability issues. Also, do to new insurance rules, the furniture has to be crated. They suggest to get a van pack to put it in. If this is not possible, then they can build a crate for your furniture. The rate for crate building there is $3.50 per cu ft. Palletize your boxes. Do not crate them for you will wasting your money. The mattress & rug can go as loose but will have to be wrapped in heavy plastic. We will go ahead & place a quote based on the 800 total cu ft @ 4000 lbs w/port-to-port only service. Let us know what you want to do about the packing & crating. We will submit a new quote then for any additional services that have to be rendered. Let us know if you have any questions.
