Questions for this shipment:
Question:
I have a 30' flatbed with ramps and could get you a good rate as I have a place at Marblehead and live outside of Springfield. Do you have a way to get it on and off my trailer? (10/6/2008)
Response:
Not really, you said you have ramps, won't that work?? (10/7/2008)
Question:
I submitted bid and would be happy to pickup 10-7-08 and deliver either same day or 10-8-08 Thanks for your consideration. (10/6/2008)
Response:
would you consider $100?? (10/7/2008)
Response:
No thanks, 174 miles for $100, gas is still $3 + a gallon, Good luck and god bless. (10/7/2008)
Response:
we wont be there, it's at a junkyard. It has to be winched Im sure (10/7/2008)
Question:
does it roll, meaning tires are good and hold air, also does it steer, meaning is there any damage to steering or wheels. I ask for in order to winch on and off it must steer and roll, if there is damage to it that will not allow it to roll off freely then it will have to be unloaded with a forklift of some sort to not damage trailer and or ramps. if all is good then i will submit my bid. thanks I am in Cleveland area. thanks steve @ tsr auto transportation ( this is not an e mail address so dont try to use it as one. ) (10/7/2008)
Response:
I called the savage yard and it does steer and tires are good. Let me know, thanx! (10/7/2008)
Response:
Sorry i didnt see your max bid of 150.00 we can not run at that max sorry. if you change your max we maybe able to help you out. change the 1 to a 2 would be more like it for us. thanks (10/7/2008)
Question:
to put things in perspective, if you had a car or truck and rented a car dolly and drove up and back you would spend at least 161.37 based on 12 miles per gallon for 350 miles and fuel at around what we pay say on the high side of 3.99 per gal=116.375 then the rental of the dolly is around 45.00 for a day. =161.375 then consider that your time is worth at least 42 cents a mile one way ( avg company driver wadges) =73.50+161.375 at least 235.87 now this doesnt include maint. or overhead to run a truck including insurance and other fees assoc. with a truck. as a trucking company we do this all the time and know most of the rates, if you do this once or twice you may not understand the true cost to ship. please reconsider your max bid. to a cost that will allow ligit companyies to quote you the going rates. thanks (10/7/2008)
Response:
Let me give you my perspective-19yr old son, multiple wrecks, the bank of mom and dad is dying and he has to pay us for this. No, we have never priced this before so we dont know much about it. We have a small truckso if we have to do it ourselves we will, just seing what options are out there, thanx (10/7/2008)
Response:
Sounds like you to are having hard times sorry to hear that, but I dont think anyone is willing to run for almost fuel alone. I was not trying to insult you in anyway and if you took it that why i do appoligize if it did. Just that your max bid is to low for a trucking company with overhead and to explain why. not to mention there is hardly any cars or trucks going from northeast ohio to Southwest ohio to bring the cost down to your level of being able to pay for it. I guess you dont need to know why our prices are what they are. Good luck and hope all goes well, I am sure that someone will bid near your price. 73s and good luck (10/7/2008)
Response:
You didm't offend me, we just thought maybe someone with an empty load coming back this way would like to make extra money. We do know how much it costs to run a business and we know it's hard. Just trying to cut costs just like anyone else. Thanks for your reply (10/7/2008)
Question:
can this be towed on a car dolly? (10/18/2008)
Response:
we assume, it steers, tires are good, that's what we were gonna do. We do know it's kinda crammed in at the salvage yard, but they will help load it. The only thing is that they have limited hours like 10-6 m-f and 10-3 Sat, closed sundays. Let me know, thanx (10/18/2008)
