Questions for this shipment:

Question: I hope you read my full bid details, and understand that uship takes out 12% in fees. So part of my bid goes all to uship, that leaves me with $654 to pay a driver. Your book now price would leave only $528 to pay a driver to haul the car 1382 miles so that is .38 per mile just so you know how this site works. Noone can move it at that rate especially considering the average loads going over that route currently pay $700. Just letting you know because Im all over here all day and am usually the lowest or right around the lowest bidder. (7/8/2007)
Response: Yes i understand. The fee's are paid to uship by the subscribers to the service to provide a service to the clients. That is the paying customer. I have had bids on this exact transaction without using a middle-man oe broker. I could not ship it at the time the person was ready as it was only 48 hours notice. I am working in houston and the car is @ my home in east texas. The average price estimated by U-ship is $600.00 as the service gives you an estimate when you list a vehicle. They tell you an average price and the high price was $750.00 I cannot help the fee's but i do understand. I also know you need to make money as a transportation broker, and also pay a shipper to move the car. That is precisely why i have chosen to work with a shipper directly, not a broker to arrange the transaction. Thanks. (7/8/2007)
Response: You do realize my calculation included no money to me, your book it now price, Id have no problem with getting a carrier at no profit to me because then they hook me up later on another shipment. What I was saying is if I took your book now and payed a driver it would be .38/mile and noone is going to do that rate when they can easily get a load going the same route on our loading boards paying .50/mile. Maybe my point was missed, but anyhow good luck. Just so you know though, brokers can get your car at lower rates because they deal in bulk, so I wouldnt be so dead set against that option. (7/9/2007)
Response: No problem….I put this listing on here to solicit bids yet I get nothing but reasons why I should pay entirely more than other shipments going similar miles. I am not asking anyone to do anything for free. Just for honest bids and not the run around of reasons why I should pay double the suggested amounts. If you would like to bid please do so. If you can do it an honest price lets bid and do that. If you can do the “now” price then do that. If brokers can do this for lower rates then let me see them and lets ship this car. I have a bid from a transport company for $700.00 but they are a small company. You are telling me a large company through a broker such as yourself can do better…..so lets do that. Bid. Regards; J.Vogel (7/9/2007)
Response: Ill put it out there at .38/mile but I highly doubt it will be taken at that rate. Only if I get another vehicle or two to solicit with it which Im working on now. If I get a taker Ill book now unless im slightly off the $600, but it is ready to go right now correct? (7/9/2007)
Response: I guess I don’t understand the difficulty in the whole process. I had a bid on this transfer for $600.00 two weeks ago but the carrier only gave me 24 hours notice and I was on the east coast. The car is ready to go. I am in Houston and need somewhat of a notice to get to the vehicle when it is going to be picked up. (7/9/2007)
Question: Hello I just wanted to know if you still needed your vehicle shipped. Thank you for your time and have a great day. (7/8/2007)
Question: Just in passing here, Dear shipper, I see this problem come up all the time where a shipper (that is you) basis their cost on uShip's quoted and very misleading fact(s) regarding shipping cost per mile. By example: I offer a private enclosed / executive level tranport service and I must explain to my shipper(s) who foolishly quote uShip's; well-meaning, but grossly misleading information all the time that there are a number of levels of service starting from a Burp&Fart BubbaJoeBobbyJohn Towing Service who will drag your vehicle down the road with his best other buddy's rented car dolly to the 1M investment car transport service that I provide. As for declaring that you do not want to go through a broker, you will always pay a fee; hidden or otherwise, regardless of what you do. Lastly the best carriers are booking loads weeks; even months in advance everyday, plus you are "Actually Bidding Against" other shippers to get your vehicle onto those very same trailers too... Best of Luck (7/9/2007)

Response: Hello John, I am very sorry if I have offended you and I stand corrected as you are "Totally Correct" in that you might even get your vehicle transported for only $200, $100 or who knows, maybe even $50 will get it done too as well. However what I was saying was that you will get what you pay for in life and that there is a extremely wide level of service to choose from today. So if you want to choose to purchase a lower level of service that is your right in America to do so. However just don't be surprised if you are not feeling well cared for at the end of the day by your choice in service provider(s). As for requesting my bid today, you have already stated that you were not willing to pay for even my most limited level of service and I wish you only the very best. (7/9/2007)
Response: i am not offended. I am here to get my car shipped to my son that is in Utah in the Air Force. I guess I dont understand the difficulty in the whole process. You are making it sound like i am trying to get something for free which i am not. But i am not paying a high price when i cant get a reasoning behind it except every other company is worse than yours. You are not the hauler and i understand you may not get a company to haul it for me @ the stated price. I am not unwilling to negotiate but there has been no bid. No level of service stated, just that your a luxury carrier. I am shipping a 93 ford taurus not a bently. Not that this car is not worth shipping or a piece of junk...thats not the case. It is my son's car and the only one he has and i am shipping it as a convenient service to me as i cannot dolly it there myself and take time from work as i work over the road. I am not looking for a $100.00 deal. i am looking for 1 that is fair & not twice the quoted rate (7/9/2007)
Response: OK... I'll have to end this conversation with one last thought here, 1.) My standard rate is $1.00 to $5.00 per mi. and 2.) You most likely can buy another "93" Taurus for 1/2 the price of what it will reasonably cost you to ship it... Best of Luck & Thank your son for his service to our country. (7/9/2007)
Question: FYI: I noticed that your shipping points are near USAF bases, I regularly offer a 10% discount to all USAA members and more and more today many other service providers are offering their services at or below cost to those who have bravely served our country overseas too. When it comes to the National Guard, I regularly transport; sometimes at my cost or even free of all charges to include even paying their uShip charges too, members household goods, bikes, cars... etc. just to help out when I can on the west coast... It doesn't hurt ask if a service provider offers a US Serving Members discount as not everyone is a selfish Democrat in life... Best of Luck (7/9/2007)
Question: Mr. Shipper, you want the most competive price to move your auto and I understand that. There are big trucking outfits and fly-by-nighters all bidding on this site. My suggestion is to accept the lowest bid submitted from the bidder that has eather State of Federal Authority Number, cargo insurance and good write-ups from a number of customers. The authority proves the service provider has valid Liability Insurance policy ($500K to $1M min depending on State/Fed)and proved they meet safety and financial responsibility. If you go with low bidder without authority you take a chance. Commercial insurance is expensive. The playing field is not level....This advice is from someone who is not bidding on your load. Good Luck (7/9/2007)
Question: I may be able to take your car for 700 total ,enclosed trailer, if I can get a motorcycle or two to go with it. My trailer hauls 1 car and 2 bikes. Will keep a watch out and see what I can do. Doc (7/9/2007)
Response: Ok...Please feel free to contact me anytime. i am open to reasonable negotiation especially with a trasporter that has a good record. Thanks J.Vogel (7/9/2007)
Question: Can do for 700. If this is OK I will place a bid. Thank YOu: Bob (7/9/2007)
Response: can you give me an idea of a possible pickup date? ideal for me would be July 13-14 but anytime with notice ahead. Also i can ship from either home in east texas as stated, or from houston where i am working....whichever is easier, cheaper and better for everyone. Thanks J.Vogel (7/9/2007)
Response: Pick up would be the 13th or 14th whichever is most convient for you. Is the pickup points all close to Houston? Price would as stated. Will place a bid soon if this date for pickup is OK with you. Doc (7/9/2007)
Response: i am working in houston and could have the car here. It is currently at my home in east texas. 90 miles east of dallas off I-30. either houston or dallas/east texas works for me. The date is perfect, just let me know if houston or 90 miles east of dallas would be better. Thanks (7/9/2007)
Response: The 90 miles east of i-30 would be best as I will have a couple of motorcycles to pick up. I will place the bid to pick up Fri. or Sat. Which would be be best for you? Doc (7/9/2007)
Response: Sat the 14th is best. (7/10/2007)
