1990 Volkswagen Vanagon
Additional Information: The van is sitting on the pavement ready to be winched up onto a truck. I am told that two of the wheels don't turn so you will have to drag it up. The vehicle roof has been chopped off at the pillars

all around and the roof lowered back down into it. It was in an accident. The back door and sliding middle door is off of it. You might have trouble getting a big semi up the driveway to pick it up

because of the turn off the road. Because the roof has been cut off and lowered back down into it, it is not as tall as a normal VW Vanagon. You can drop it at the delivery location even with a big rig though. Very flexible on pickup dates and times and dropoff dates and times. The vehicle cannot have any wheels on the ground during towing.

Hello, Is the roof secured to the body in any way or does it have to get tied down to the body? Can the doors be put inside of the van? Thanks, Ruez.Report a Violation
Response: See the photo I just uploaded. It seems that the front doors might still be affixed. I am told that the other two doors are inside of it and the roof is sitting on top of it. Straps would be needed to affix the roof onto there (keep it from jumping off) but there is good support for the roof to sit on there and the doors can go inside of it. I am told that the tires are inflated but the brakes have rusted it so it doesn't roll. You can drag it on its tires though. Any doors that are significantly dented can be dented again, but doors without blemishes need to be protected from scratching or damage. There may not be any doors without damage or dents. When I uploaded the photo and answered the question, the system automatically declined all bids/offers so if you responded it would be good if you could respond again. (Frustrating.)3/14/2014Report a Violation
Response: Hello, The cheapest I can do this tow is $896. Complete. If you are interested you will have to change your listing to open bid. Thanks, Ruez.3/14/2014Report a Violation
Hi Derek Tony offthetruck. I have a eighteen foot flatbed trailer with a winch so I think I can get to it. I can pick-up Tuesday the 18th and deliver Wednesday the 19th. will that work? Thank you Report a Violation
Hi,I am a class a Cdl driver. It's hard to see the van with pix so do you know or have you ever towed it with a dolly? If so are you ok with that? Thanks MattReport a Violation
Response: A dolly is OK if no wheels are touching the ground. The vehicle was hit at the left front corner so there may be some kind of issue with that wheel, but it was sitting on the ground OK so I think the hit was higher up. I will need a search query for starters. It seems that there may be several runs on this route, and that for some of the later runs, a truck would be needed to haul boxes and such, but I am waiting to hear about that. It is only a fluke of the uship system that this job is not taken yet. It seems a little odd to me that the uship system is not designed very well to induct new talent because the information they provide about some shippers is not adequate. 3/17/2014Report a Violation
Response: Ok well I was talking about a tow dolly. As for all the other stuff?????? Thanks for your time. 3/17/2014Report a Violation
Response: The other stuff is just an advisory that there may be more of this kind of work for this particular route for me in the future, but that's really irrelevant to this job so you can forget that. Dolly would be OK if the wheels of the van are off the ground and if you can configure it to be legal. I put the picture of the roof up on the website as well because this picture is scary and might dissuade somebody from wanting this job. However, you don't have to manipulate that roof since it is sitting inside the body of the vehicle so the picture of the roof is misleadingly scary in my view. 3/17/2014Report a Violation
Hello, Loading, transporting, and unloading your VW will not be a problem. We have a fully equipped truck and flatbed car hauler. The pickup driveway, etc. should not be a problem for us at all. A tow dolly is NOT an option for your type of vehicle. We have submitted a bid for your consideration. Thank you!Report a Violation
I can do ENCLOSED TRANSPORT, check out my profile and read Some of my feedback, both received and replies Report a Violation
Response: I do not require that either you or I insure the vehicle you would be taking, but I am sure that you carry your own liability insurance. Let me know when you know what dates you would do it. I suppose that you would know that after you lined up other jobs to compliment this one. If I understand Uship correctly, you can accept this job and then I can accept your acceptance. If you really plan to use an enclosed trailer, keep in mind that they told me that two of the wheels are not turning at the moment. So you will either have to drag it into there or use wheel dolly rollers or slidy things or little snow sleds or maybe spray lubricant in front of where the wheels will be sliding, and presumably, you would have a winch in the enclosed trailer.3/25/2014Report a Violation
Response: I can do the move ANYTIME, just read some of my feedback, you will understand I live less than 30 minutes from the veh. Pick up. 3/25/2014Report a Violation
Response: Yes, the move would be ENCLOSED, I would have Dolly's under the non-moving Wheels and yes, I do have a winch in the trailer. I only do enclosed moves, typically, high end sports cars or motorcycles. Out of sight, out of mind.! ALOT less problems when the pieces are not visible.3/25/2014Report a Violation
Response: I clicked a button to enable you to take the job but so far I am not seeing a way for me to give you this job using the uship tools. I think you have to do something more so that I can "accept" it. 3/25/2014Report a Violation
Response: Read my feedback and replies, under my profile.!!3/25/2014Report a Violation
I can do your move, but it will be almost double of your offer. Let me know, ASAP, I'm booking a few motorcycles alsoReport a Violation
Response: I raised the price for now but it does not sound like it will meet your requirements. This Uship interface sure is clunky. But I am more comfortable using it than the phone. Thanks for writing. I know you sometimes prefer the phone.3/27/2014Report a Violation
Response: Doing it your way would be around $1500 Let me know 3/27/2014Report a Violation
Hello Derek, I got your bid request. I can do the job for your offer, but before I bid I want to make sure our dates will work. It has to be picked up by 4/9/14 correct? I can pick it up between 4/1 and 4/6. I would deliver it the next day after I pick it up. Is sat & sun available for pick up and deliveries? Let me know your thoughts. Thanks, Ruez.Report a Violation
Response: Yes, those dates are fine. Saturday or Sunday is also fine for both pickup and dropoff. 3/27/2014Report a Violation
