Response: Thank you for your interest but if I were to have the vehicle driven I would rather spend $150 - $200 on the plane ticket and drive it home myself.

Question: Hello Justin, will be down in Raleigh as it looks on Monday or Tuesday of next week...and was wondering if you'd still enterain getting this shipped up to you? Thank-you in advance,
Jim (1/15/2008)

Response: I am still entertaining. Thank you. (1/16/2008)

Response: Hello Justin and I thank-you for the reply. I also see that this was "not" auction item, so we could price it 3 different ways as you know time is money...and miles are fuel. The location listed says 86 miles from Raleigh, the truck (enclosed furniture van) will be empty Tuesday. If the car could be driven to where the truck is, and loaded right there...it'd save a little over one hundred that way. Also, on the other end...if you were to pick it up atour warehouse at I-43/I-90 it be again...another 100+ savings... We have 1 car as of now coming back to Rockford area. Just thought I would ask, as it could be possible that your car is from someone in your family or friend...and that would help you out. Thx again for the reply, jim (1/17/2008)

Response: Jim, This was an auction item. For whatever reason the uShip server was glitching with my auction, nonetheless it still loaded the photo and the ebay auction, I believe to the listing. I would not be able to get the vehicle to Raleigh, but I could pick it up at I43, I90... I know where that is. What are we looking at in pricing? Thanks,
Justin (1/17/2008)

Response: Hi Justin, and thank's for the reply. Sorry for the questions but this venue is the only way to communicate (unlike a 1 time phone call to get info). Seagrove looks off the beaten path some.. How far from the 220/I73 are they please?.. Then I'll be able to calculate time/distance etc.. It'd be back up @ I43/I90 sometime next Friday. Again, sorry for the questions.. Jim (1/19/2008)

Response: Jim, thank you for getting back to me... the seller of the vehicle wants the pickup to be at
2019 Brook dr, Asheboro NC, which is right off of 220/I73. Asheboro looks like it is at the crossing of 220/I73 and US64E. He had the listing for Seagrove on his auction, hence the reason why I had listed Seagrove. Directly after I emailed him as to the pick up, he gave me the final address and cell phone/contact numbers to contact him as necessary.
I43/I90 is down near Beloit, correct? I've been down there very frequently... that is about an hour from me. It'd be best for me to pick this up on a Saturday if at all possible... otherwise I'll lose a day at work and make the boss unhappy >:^( Thanks for your help. (1/19/2008)

Response: Justin, thx again for the reply...As you can see by mapping it...what it does as far as what roads to take etc...and not dropping to Seagrove helps. I just spoke with the driver, He'll be unloaded Raleigh Tuesday eve... (too late for sure to load that evening) He could then stay or be in Asheboro first thing Wednesday and if it can load between 7:30am/8:00am we can make this happen and I'll toss up the firm bid. The car in Charlotte loads AM on Wednesday before 10am... He then takes 2 small medical machines to Atlanta to drop off, then returns back up here. The Benz could be picked up here Friday afternoon after 1pm and before 6pm or Saturday am...prior to noon. Which works better for you anyway.
Sorry for the communication this way, has to be done (typed out here) ...to eliminate suprises etc...and would not want anyone to "accept a bid" based on false pretense/promises. So, if it works for the load window for the shipper ( earlier than 7:30am would be OK on our end also) Thx Jim!! (1/19/2008)

Response: I just Emailed the vehicle seller to confirm this works for him. Best Regards,
Justin (1/19/2008)

Response: Great, and thank-you for being on top of this Justin...and sorry about the short "load window"...but the Atlanta 2 pieces is medical out of Madison and has to be Wednesday afternoon at the latest. Anything later in the day Wednesday would trickle down effect what is arlready scheduled. Will be looking for the OK. Jim (1/19/2008)

Response: Jim, The seller says OK for Wednesday morning 7:30 - 8am as long as he gets a confirmed ETA cell call Tuesday night. Thanks, Justin (1/20/2008)

Response: Thx Justin, and spoke the driver an hour ago. He'll call me back later this afternoon. Also, I was just down there with him in that area a couple months ago on a run (free vacation with some work involved). I used to live down that way in the late 80's. And my uncle lives near Myrtle and works at a resort down there. Do a search on "crown reef myrtle" and that's where we stayed :-) They don't "cater to semi's but I had an in...grin" On another note, (and coincidence) I also own a 1993 190E 2.3 w/ 157k on it...that just happens...used to be owned by this driver...lol Was a 1 owner before him and the elderly lady he got it from had serviced only at dealer all it's life...His son had it when the water pump went out, the dealer wanted $800 to do it, so he sold it to me. My dad presently owns 6-7 "big" Benz's but all with the 6.9 motors. His last purchase came from Calif. and in the trunk was the "autobahn" qwik change rear end. :-) for top end.. What's a 74 year old man do with that? Jim (1/20/2008)

Response: Ok, cool. This car is a Cosworth 16V... I'm very excited to get it. I've wanted one for a long time. Anyways, hope to hear from you soon! Thanks, Justin. (1/20/2008)
