Response: I have already recieved another bid for $950.00 and would obviously like to get the boat shipped at cheaply as possible... can you beat 950???... (3/26/2006)
Question: how far are you from amarilo i am headed to tuscon az on thursday half to pickup a car in chicago can haul your boat and trailer on my trailer if you could meet me in amarilo could do for 750 thanks rusty (3/27/2006)
Response: Amarillo is a couple of hours away... but i will busy on thurs.... is this the day you will be in amarillo... (3/27/2006)
Question: thusday is the day i plan on being in texas (3/27/2006)
Response: I dont think I will be able to make it to amarillo on thurs... (3/27/2006)
Question: will let you know if somthing changes thanks rusty (3/27/2006)
Question: Hello: could it be possible picking up on Thu March 30th and deliver on Sat Apr 1st? Would you be willing to pay $1000? We are a moving company, fully insurance, encloced cargo trailer. Prompt response really appreciate. Thanks Easymoving. (3/27/2006)
Response: that time frame would be fine but I've already recieved bids as low as $825... would you be willing to accept a price at or lower than this??? thanks (3/27/2006)
Question: Hello again: thank you for your prompt response; how about $850.00 and we'll dispatch a truck to do bumper pull instead of our trailer. If this works for you, would you be willing to accept our bid so we can arrange any pending details on the phone (like the license plate)? Thanks! Easymoving (3/27/2006)
Response: the trailer does have tags but they are old... I am currently awaiting the title via mail so that I can register the trailer and/or obtain temporary tags for the transfer... therefore I doubt the delivery can be made on the 29th with current tags... I fear this may present a problem in light of the time frame you have presented (3/27/2006)
Question: Hello Shipper. I wanted to let you know that my bid is all inclusive, insurance is included with my bid. Thanks Bill (tsrm46) (3/27/2006)
Response: Ive already recieved bids as low as $825... I would obviously like to have this done as cheaply as possible... can you match/beat $825... thanks (3/27/2006)
Question: Ok, what we suggest then is to send our driver with our temporary demonstration vehicle tags, so we don't have problems with law enforcement, this way you can continue with the procedures for registration at no rush and to have the license plate ready when your boat arrives at the destination point. Thanks! Easymoving (3/27/2006)
Response: That sounds great except it might take a few days just to get the title then a few more to send the tags to the driver... (3/27/2006)
Question: I can match bid of 825.00 without insurance coverage. Thanks Bill(tsrm46) (3/27/2006)
Response: sounds great... as i have told some other bidders i am currently waiting to recieve the title via mail... after which i can take care of registration and/or temporary tags for the transfer... it may be a couple of days before i can send the tags... thanks (3/27/2006)
Question: You have bids for $825 from uninsured ilegal haulers with no DOT authority. I hope you understand what that means shipper. If this type of driver gets caught with your boat, DOT will impound it until all fee's and fines are paid, and a legal driver can transport it! Your $825 just went way up for trying to save $175 now! Good luck! (3/28/2006)
Response: thanks for the heads up... what exactly is DOT authority... I have recieved a bid for $750 from an insured driver... im guessin that just because he is insured does not mean that he has DOT authority... is this correct??? also how would I know if a driver does have such authority... do I simply ask them??? thanks a bunch (3/28/2006)
Question: Hello again: we're sorry, we meant our own demo temporary license plate, which we use to transport trailers unlicensed. Thanks! Easymoving (3/28/2006)
Response: I have just recieved a bid for $750 from an insured driver... unless you can beat this price I will more than likely be obligated to choose his bid simply because I would like the job done at the cheaper price... thanks (3/28/2006)
Question: I just feel like I need to respond to the idiot that sent you the statement above. Since its my bid that you are speaking of, I would like to take the time to point out that I DO have a usdot #, puco # and icc/mc #. All of which are available to the shipper upon reqest to verify them. Furthermore, I carry cargo and hitch insurance that covers anything that is in or attatched to my truck. So, the next time you think about opening your mouth, perhaps you should know what you are talking about. Shipper, I appologize for using your shipment to air my greivence, but some of these guys on here will do anything to win a bid. (3/28/2006)
Response: i understand completely... but as i stated in response to another question... I have just recieved a bid for $750 from an insured driver... unless you can beat this price I will more than likely be obligated to choose his bid simply because I would like the job done at the cheaper price... thanks (3/28/2006)
Question: Illinois allows a person 24 hours from time of pick up to deliver a vehicle with no plates (as long as there is insurance). I verified this with the State Police, and also Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas. Theses states either have similar laws, or honor the laws of other States. It would require a time and dated simple bill of sale from the place where I pick it up. (3/28/2006)
Response: sounds great... I think i asked this very question under your details section... haha... but I was also wondering if the your bid of $750 would be the total amount I would owe for the transfer???... thanks (3/28/2006)
Question: I appologize shipper, but I will have to regretably decline any further bidding. I do understand you are wanting to get this done as inexpensively as possible, and therefore, after looking at the lowest bidders feedback, I would have to say go for it. I do this for a living and cannot afford to go any lower than where I'm at now. To tell you the truth, I didn't like dropping the insurance just to win the bid, so mabe it's better off this way. Thank you for your time and interest, and good luck. Bill(tsrm46) (3/28/2006)
Question: Hello again: thank you very much for your response. Our bottom line would be $825, we pay insurance and have the DOT, MC/ICC, in a busines that is really tough we cannot lower our prices 'cause we do this for a living. If your objective is to transport your boat at the cheapest price we'd recommend to go for the $750, although this would imply no insurance, lack of DOT authority, experience, etc. We think that you need to set things up in a balance so you can get the best service at affordable price, not only the cheapest. Thanks a lot, and we're at your order, Easymoving. (3/28/2006)
Response: I am currently awaiting a response from other bidders on DOT numbers, insurance, and legality... and I agree with setting up a balance... thanks (3/28/2006)
Question: To the guy that responded to me giving legal facts! I am not trying to "WIN A BID" I have made no offers what so ever! Nor do I have any intent to. So next time you need to check before you open your mouth. If you are a legal hauler then you need not make a response to me in any way shape or form. Just state your legal status to your potential shipper, and hope you win the bid. No this wasn't directed at you. I don't know who you are. I do know there are a few offers/bids from several drivers that would appear to be wildcat haulers! These haulers are rate killers to start. Now to top it off, I as well as my family drives these hwy's. If one of these wildcats should have an accident, what recourse do we, or anyone for that matter have? NONE!!! They have no business on the road breaking the law. Any time I see the chance to sack a few of them, I am on it! Shipper its EZ to find out if they are legal...... (3/28/2006)
Question: .......Go to: http://safer.fmcsa.dot.gov/CompanySnapshot.aspx and type in there DOT or MC number. Make sure the name matches the company and or driver. It will clearly show if they are legal and current! If they are not it will state if this as well! Sometimes drivers will use other peoples DOT numbers and claim them as their own. Before you pay a deposit or let anyone pick up your item, make sure all the T's are crossed and the I's are dotted. Insurance alone doesn't make the run legal. Good luck to you! (3/28/2006)
Response: Thank you so much... i am obviously new to this and feel that I could be wrongfully taken advantage of very easily... I now feel much more informed in light of the info. you have given me... thanks again... (3/28/2006)
Question: O.k., not everything above is the sworn gospel. Some guys, myself included, are leased to carriers, we run our carriers dot numbers. You do have to have permission to do this, but, it is legal, and gives us interstate authority. (3/28/2006)
Response: thanks... so are you a legal transporter??? and are you still willing to do the job at the price you previously offered??? thanks (3/28/2006)
Question: ...And as far as "sacking drivers", I think we all can agree on the fact that they are rate killers, we've all seen that. And I do appologize for apperently speaking out of turn, it just so happens that you mentioned the same amount as my bid in your original message. (3/28/2006)
Question: Yes I am legally able to do this move, but I don't feel right about moving it without my insurance covering it. If you still wanted me to do it, I could come down to 900 ins. included. (3/28/2006)
Question: Hello again: thank you for you response. Meantime you get other info from other bidders, we'll submit our bottom line bid for $825, so you can decide on your move. We hope to do business with you in the near future. Thanks! Easymoving (3/28/2006)
Question: My bid of $750.00 includes liability insurance coverage. If your boat should come loosw from my truck and strike another vehicle, the damage to the vehicle will be covered. You will need to make a call to your insurance person and start coverage on the boat. That's all you'll need is the VIN number...which is probably in the auctions description. In my opinion, this website was started to help people save money. It allows people to help people. I am going to Dallas this weekend, and why not help each other out and share expenses, it's a win win situation, and like I said, the reason this website was started. I think I'll even lower my bid to $675.00. I'll bet the money you save in shipping will pay for your boats full coverage insurance for about a year...Don't let someone manipulate you, or use scare tactics, trying to pursuade you to ship with them. I've been hauling trailers and boats for over 20 years, and have never had an accident. Your boat will enjoy a nice ride down. (3/28/2006)
Response: I see that you have resubmitted a bid for $650.00... that pretty much answers my previous question... but i do want to make sure the transfer will be lagal... and I aslo would need to work out some specifics with you... like the tags for the boat... the trailer does have tags but they are old... but i believe that a shipment does not require tags for 24 hours... do you have any more information on the subject... thanks (3/28/2006)
Question: I would like you to know that I contacted the hwy patrols office and was told you are not required to have dot. when your manf. gross weight is 10.000lbs or less. I want to keep everything legal as do you. If you would like to follow up on this contact your local hwy patrol office or go to wwwfmcsa.dot.gov Get the best for your money and save, not everyone is trying to get rich.Thank you. (3/28/2006)
Question: There's nothing illegal about it...and like I said, and feel free to call the IL state police, you have 24 hours to take a vehicle home, providing you have a least liability insurance, which I would be happy to fax you... (3/28/2006)
Response: well here's the deal... I dont even have the title yet... i am waiting on it to arrive in the mail... but you said that you had liability insurance... and that all i would need is the VIN number... and the shipment is legal for 24 hours if you have liability insurance on it... my question is... does your insurance conver this issue... what would I need to do (other than paying you the $650) to get this boat moved legally... thanks... sorry for any confusion (3/28/2006)
Question: i have us dot # would do it for $1200.00 fuel is to high to have trucking co. do it , would use company pick up, f-350. (3/28/2006)
Question: WOW...I've been watching all the legal talk here. For one thing, if your DOT/MC is current as a common carrier you must maintain a minimum of $5000 cargo insurance. Secondly, in the State of Missouri you can obtain a temporary permit that is generally honored by other states. You’ll need a bill of sale proving purchase in MO. Thirdly, just because some driver offers 3rd party "cargo insurance" doesn't always mean your boat is covered. It may pay for what you were unable to collect from the carrier, but that could take a long time and court battles. And as for as the under 10,000 lbs...That applies to CDL requirements...not DOT authority and interstate commerce. And I'm not even interested in bidding the prices I've seen so I don't have a dog in this fight. However I do know what I'm talking about...just check my profile and you'll see I'm a legal driver and owner of a motor transport company. Sorry for interrupting the game. (3/28/2006)
Question: Great, let's do it this weekend. I can pick up Friday, and deliver on Saturday or Sunday....Once you accept the deal we can exchange phone numbers. It's much easier to do in person or one on one over the phone. Look at my feedback, although limited, it is perfect...I'll get you your boat, unharmed, and expediently. Talk to you soon....Just hot accept, and then I'll send you my phone number, or direct email address. Hammer44h (3/28/2006)
Response: I assume this means that your insurance is that which makes it a legal move within 24 hours (and that you will be legal in every other area) and that the bid of $650 is the bottom line... is this correct???... thanks... i look forward to doing business with you... (3/28/2006)
Question: Shipper: I have no desire to interfere in your business, but you seem sincere about having the boat transported legally and you’ve received so much inaccurate information. No vehicle or trailer is allowed on Missouri highways without a proper tag. Not for 24 hours or any period of time. It can be temporary paper tag or a permanent license plate. If it is stopped by the MO Highway Patrol and isn’t legal it goes to the impound lot period. Insurance in this case doesn’t make anything legal. It is illegal for anyone to transport any type of commodity interstate “for hire”, unless the transporter has an appropriate DOT authority. If you want peace of mind you need to get a legally licensed DOT transporter to HAUL your rig on a trailer. That way you will know it be insured and not impounded. Myself and most legal haulers can’t touch the lowest bids. Your choice is simple… illegal and cheap or legal at a fair price. Again, I don’t have a dog in this fight. Good luck. (3/29/2006)
Question: Yes, my insurance makes it legal. Like I said, Missouri laws may not allow it, but they honor the laws of neighboring states. I have verified this through the police, and through the vendors who sell permits. PLUS, this is not a commercial freight, for hire type of situation. I am transporting this boat down for a friend, and he's simply giving me a little gas money...(FOR THE RECORD). As for not having a DOG IN THE FIGHT, you sure must have a boring life to have all this time to spend time commenting where it's none of your business. Why don't you get a life and stop trying to ruin a good thing. If commercial frieght is the only way to go, then the inflated prices will just drive the price down for the sellers on ebay...I think this site was created to help people save money over the rediculous prices of commercial freight. Fuel is high for truckers, I agree, but this is just a 18' boat that needs a ride to Texas. Shipper, you need to make a decision soon if you'd like my help (3/29/2006)
