Questions for this shipment:

Question: Hello - would the shipper (or originating location) be willing to place & secure bike to suitable skid / long pallet or crate base so as to be acceptable for common carrier service? ... THX (5/8/2008)
Response: Yes, if shipper provided the skid/pallet. (5/8/2008)
Response: Ok ... but to be clear in understanding the question; it is the point of origin (aka" shipper or consignor) that does this preparation in order to be acceptable for common carrier service & not the carrier (5/9/2008)
Question: Hello, What is your preferred time-frame? Thanks, Matt(Wolverine Transport) (5/8/2008)
Response: I need the bike to be delivered between 6/15 and 6/17. The pickup time is flexible. Thanks, Mike (5/11/2008)
Response: Hello, Is it 100% firm on that delivery window, or are you flexible at all? I only ask, because while it is possible for those dates, we do not like to get stuck in a firm only window considering the logistics with a coast to coast ground transport. Please let me know. Thanks, Matt (5/11/2008)
Response: The closer you can deliver to 6/15 the better. I guess I'd be ok with any day that week. Thanks, Mike (5/11/2008)
Question: ... a long pallet or shipping skid if made up, must be sufficiently large / long enough so as to accommodate the bike as placed & secured with no overhang ... often (2)standard 4-way pallets “strong backed” together as one will work with (4)ratchet tie down straps cross fastened to bike being anchored to pallet stringers ... fuel to be drained down / gas free & battery (if applicable) disconnected ... any additional parts or accessories to be boxed up & also secured to pallet ... local bike dealers will often have used / salvaged crate bases which may be acquired or even they will “palletize” the bike for shipment albeit for a fee which may offset some common carrier accessorial charges as bike would then be coming from (or going to) a business type location ... drop shipping to another dealer is good too as they can “de-crate” the bike & may even give you some credit for the crate base? ... just an idea ... let me know if doable & will then consider ...
