I guess just to have someone pick up bike in NE and deliever here at NC. At rate that I an afford.
The service provider may not have insurance, but he does have a lot of satisfied customers.
I really need to keep this under $600. His bid was $575. If I can get a lower bid, I will probaly go for that.
When I was first recieved an estimated quote from Uship in their ads. (Of course in small print it is not guaranted quote). According to the same type of bike coming from the same general location, they said it would be around $385. (That's a joke). Every bid that came in was 2x more and just more. Even now Uship motorcycle average bid is $481.
I understand your position, gas is high.
However: Do want to bid at a Uship quote or beat the above competion.

Response: In all fairness to Uship, there price estimator is based on previous shipment that were done when fuel prices were alot lower and another factor is you have all these service providers that are not complying with DOT regulations and/or do not provide their customers with cargo insurance. These services providers can under cut guys like myself because they do not have to pay for the liablity and cargo insurance that will cost my truck and trailer $1200 every month. I have to factor this in to my cost for this extra service that I provide. You have to determine if cost is the most important factor or knowing that your shipment is protected with insurance and being transported by someone who is trying to comply with law, would you want me to bid the same as the other and not provide you the insurance or have your service provider get the insurance for his quoted price? I am providing you with a better service, would you rather me provide you with a lessor of a service at the same price? (6/1/2008)
