Questions for this shipment:
Question:
Hello Shipper, What is your time frame? Thanks Nick EMI Transport (1/25/2008)
Response:
No real time frame, late spring or early summer would be OK. (1/25/2008)
Response:
We have moved alot of these, I will check what permits are going to be and will get you a bid soon, mid April will work good. Thanks Nick EMI Transport (1/25/2008)
Question:
Removable bridge?? (1/25/2008)
Response:
I don't think there is a bridge. You can get on top of the boat and walk around of course but there is no cover up there. The top is just open. (1/25/2008)
Response:
Most of these have a console or bridge on top, that is removable for shipping.Anyway the height of 16' would put it at over 18' on most trailers because of the shallow draft. This is very critical as to the price because of routing and permitting. It could mean 1.50 per mile difference and more. (1/26/2008)
Response:
I am sending someone to take a picture. They have seen it and seem to believe there is no bridge. I have not seen the boat, it was given to me as a gift. I will get a picture to you ASAP. (1/29/2008)
Response:
Ok,As you can see the confusion has already started. The height is very critical.16' is too high of an estimate w/o a removable bridge or console.Unless this has a very tall stateroom or something. Most of these Gibsons have a shallow draft.<4' in the water. If it will load under 14'6"(the boat itself needs to be under 13'6"high) on the trailer this will be bumping 3.30 per mile and the routing would mean aprox. a 3000 mile trip.$10,000...if over 16' on the trailer it means additional escort in places...est+2250.00...Just to give you an idea.Hope it helps. The prices you will get will vary a lot,do the homework ahead of the move to avoid suprises after loading. Thanks tduncan55(ThomasDuncanTrucking) (1/30/2008)
Question:
Hello shipper, What is your goal in price for this move? Keep in mind it will reguire permits all the way and an escort. The height will be fine, we move the gibsons' all the time,Thanks Nick EMI Transport (1/29/2008)
Response:
I don't mind to pay a fair price but at the same time it needs to be cost effective. How much do permits cost? I recognize there is a labor cost, fuel cost, and permit cost. Am I missing something? (1/29/2008)
Response:
A boat of this size is on an average $2 a mile, plus escort fee wich they charge us from $1 too $1.50 a mile. Permits are cheap $15 too $40 per state. A couple of questions, wet load or lift load? Wet unload or lift? We have our own escourt, and we can do this, it will take a three man crew, 5 too 6 days from pick up too drop off, wide loads can only run during daylight hours. The price would be $9500 as of now, if I can find a load out of there it will reduce my cost and reduce your cost! I hope this helps a little to see why so costly, any queations fill free to ask. Thanks Nick EMI Transport (1/29/2008)
Question:
13' wide requires escorts in several states. Also the going rate for a 13' wide is $3.00 per mile not $2. Most escorts are getting $1.50 per mile plus $50 per night for motels. Itcan be done for $10,000 and that would be what most legal carriers will charge. (1/29/2008)
Question:
Hello Shipper, what price would get the deal done? (1/31/2008)
Question:
Would this be crane on crane off? I will be in the area in a few weeks. would that be too early? I do not recall that Gibsons are that high. They are a nice boat to haul with a deeper v on the hull for lower loading. They draft 30 to 36 in. Did you get a height above water line? Dan, Aaction Marine transport (2/14/2008)
