Questions for this shipment:
Question:
Can this be driven??? Mark (7/31/2008)
Response:
Yes it can, just out of tune-up shop, rebuilt carb, alternator. However has not been register since 1983, and is not currently insured. (8/1/2008)
Response:
It would take a low boy trailer to haul with semi or to drive it with temp tag for one way trip and driven.I have owned 4 R.V.'s i my life and currently own a 1990 freespirit holiday rambler 24' yjat I bought for my son... You can go to the DMV and buy the trip permit and mail it to the pick up location and talk to your insurance agent as I believe you'll insure it anyway right? I'd like to book this and drive it down... Mark (8/1/2008)
Response:
Mark: At present, I am not ready to have it driven, I am looking for a transporter. Check with me later. Thanks for the offer. (8/1/2008)
Question:
is it licensed for the road ? and are the tires in good shape? (7/31/2008)
Response:
No, it has not ben registered since 1983, just came out of tune-up shop, rebuilt carb, alternator, radiater flush-fill, At present is not insured. (8/1/2008)
Question:
hello,If your sure of the height i can load it on my flat deck and bring it to you for 1800..Will deliver to terminal or other location, where ever you would like as long as it is in the area of dropoff area..Let me know.thnx jeff (8/3/2008)
Response:
Jeff; Not sure as to exact height, and right now I have no communication with Wa. AS my contact person is in the process of moving. No phone, no E-mail. Will try to get exact height, and will contact you. Thanks for your bid. (8/3/2008)
Response:
okay just let mer know..thnx jeff (8/3/2008)
Response:
Jeff; The overall height is 9'8", I just don't think it can be pulled on a trailer, behind a pickup truck. Thanks. (8/5/2008)
Question:
i was looking at your add, dont know if this helps but in mo you can get a driveaway tag for 8.00 good for 10 days dont know if you can there or not if you would want it driven i would drive it for 800 i will get tag and ins to get the ins i just have to add it to my plan and then cancel it thanks (gas not included) (8/5/2008)
Response:
Right now I'm not looking towards having it driven, I could do that myself. I don't want the extra miles on the motorhome. (8/5/2008)
Question:
well in order for a semi to pick this up it is going to cost you no less then 2.00 per mile..lets face it semis get 5.5 miles to the gallon. This would also be placed on a low boy The cost for a low boy to accomplish your ht requirement is concidred spealized, hmm thats 3.00 per mile it would also have to be a detach lowboy thats 3.50 per mile..Driven it pays 1.50 per mile do the math...Let us know how we can help with this shipment dale..mignweldfabdelivery (8/5/2008)
Response:
Thanks for the info. If need be, I will drive here myself. Just trying to keep the mileage on the unit to a minimum. later. Thanks. (8/5/2008)
Question:
Shipper: Yes this can be pulled on a flatbed behind a pickup truck 3/4 ton or better. Does this have duels on the back? If so can you find out the total outside dimmention between the two sets of duels. Also what is to exact width of the RV and the ground clearence? Scott (8/6/2008)
Response:
Hello; At present, I am not in contact with Spokane, so cannot provide that info. Maybe you can measure a similar unit. It is built on an IH frame, equipped with 392 Ci. V/8. It has duals in the rear. (8/7/2008)
Question:
To let you know, this cannot be towed on a trailer by a 3/4 ton. CA will shut that type of transport down in a heart beat. The transporter will have to have a CDL class B minimum and run long books because this vehicle with a one ton and goose neck will be over 26k in weight. (8/7/2008)
Response:
Based on your info, I'm going to call Highway Patrol, and find out the exact requirements. What you're saying is , I would be the only customer for the three car hauler, is that correct/ Can you meet my deadline? Could you cut some of the cost by dropping at a truck terminal in Sacramento, or Stockton? (8/7/2008)
Response:
No, you would not be the only customer on the trailer, but your vehicle takes up two spots on the trailer. I have to fit two more vehicles on the trailer to make the trip profitable. The only reason that some of these other companies offer such a low rate is that most of them are not DOT compliant and do not carry adequate insurance. I have to carry 1m in auto Liability then I carry an additional 1m in general liability and then 100k in cargo insurance. That alone runs 1k a month. This is to insure that no matter what happens you are covered in the event (god forbid) an accident would occur. If you hire a transporter that is not insured properly or compliant, guess what! you can be sued for their mistake. (8/7/2008)
Question:
I have a pick up in So. Cal next week. Rather than dead head down, I'd like to bid this. My trailer is not a low boy, but we should be fine. If interested, I will double check the height to make sure we're fine. DOT Licensed hauler. Thank you! (8/7/2008)
Question:
I can meet your deadline as I have a client that needs two vehicles in LA by monday noon If the dealers release them by Sat morning. I Live in Spokane and getting ready to head out. I can meet you in Sacramento or Stockton but the lowest I am willing to go is 2075 because of the service and protection I offer you as a potential client. For any state, any vehicle combination over 26k in a commercial vehicle or combination thereof has to have a DOT # and a driver with a CDL. I ran into this with a client moving a houseboat from UT to NY He was pulling it with a one ton and NE shut him down because he had no CDL or DOT # It was going to cost him so much to move it from that point he decided to sell it where it sat. (8/7/2008)
Question:
I can haul this on my deck. Just need to flatten the tires. I then reinflate from my trucks air supply. Does it have roof air? (8/7/2008)
Response:
No roof air, Tires are what came on it new, this unit only has 4988 miles on it. It is fully operational, tune-up, new alternator, re-built carb. radiator flush, and fill. Hope this helps, We have some 13'6"' overpasses in Ca. So be advised. Thanks for your time. OLGNFTR (8/8/2008)
Question:
Can i drive this? (8/8/2008)
Response:
unit is fully operational. tune-up rebuilt carb, new alternator. However has not been registered since 1983, is not currently insured, has original tires, It has 4988 actual miles, (One owner) I don't want any more miles on it than is necessary. (8/8/2008)
