Question: Leaving for Montana Thursday or Friday, either way should be able to load Thursday and would deliver probably Monday, as we will be in Great Falls over the weekend. If that time schedule works should be able to get this done for you for $745.25. If this is acceptable to you, let me know and I will make the formal bid and we can get things done. We are based in Meridian, so it should be a piece of cake arranging pickup at your convenience. Kevin (Big Sky Transport) (2/18/2008)

Response: Hi, you had quoted me a price around $750 to Plentywood, MT. Is is still in that ballpark? I am hoping to get everything finalized in the next few weeks so you could pick the car up at your convenience, maybe first part of May. (4/7/2008)

Response: Yes, we run up to Montana quite frequently. Very frequently to Great Falls and have taken many vehicles to Sweetgrass headed to Canada, but we can make that run at a later date as well if the price works for you. Let me know when you are ready and I can send you a formal bid. (2/18/2008)

Response: Do you have a ballpark figure to Great Falls or even Sweetgrass, just so I can budget? I will keep your name handy and let you know when I have everything set up. Thanks for your correspondence. (2/18/2008)

Response: Sure, $478.50 to Great Falls, $570.00 to Sweetgrass. Thanks (2/22/2008)

Response: That is a great price. Do you have a place in either location to park the car or would I need to meet you there when you arrive? (2/22/2008)

Response: Sweetgrass I have usually met folks at the rest area. Great Falls, I could probably make arrangements to either meet you, or if the timing was inconvenient, I could store it with somebody. I do have a lot of connections in Great Falls since I lived there for 17 years. Of course, the prices that I quoted were based upon when I had a load going to Montana. I am now based in Meridian (just west of Boise) so we could probably arrange pickup and storage for a few days if necessary while waiting on the rest of the load, although we would prefer to pick it up and load it when we are leaving, rather than load, unload and reload. (2/22/2008)

Response: I ask about storage just in case I was not able to meet you when you are taking a load to Great Falls. I am a shift-worker, sometimes with days off mid-week, sometimes around weekends. I realize you go when you have a load. As far as pick-up for you, I'm sure you would be able to pick it up when it was best for you. I am likely looking for you to haul it sometime in March or April. I would let you know well in advance that the car could be picked up, so you could fit it around your schedule and then I would try to arrange my days off to pick it up when you get to Great Falls. Hopefully something like that works for you. (2/23/2008)

Response: That sounds good. You let me know when you are ready and I will be happy to place the bid with times available at that point. Kevin (2/25/2008)

Response: Hi Kevin,
Not sure if you got my message from last week. Do you have plans for any trips to MT in the next month or so?
Thanks (4/18/2008)

Response: Yes, I have a client loading in Great Falls somewhere around early to mid May, but I have not got the load booked yet, so I do not have a solid date. We have a load up to Great Falls, but if you would want me to I can save you a spot. Right now, I could still honor the same price as I quoted previously. Although I would bid it a bit higher now with fuel 35 cents a gallon more. If the price does not raise too much more between now and then, I would honor my previous price, however as you are probably aware, Plentywood is not on the beaten path and I would be running my truck a lot of miles out of the way, so if the fuel price goes up too much more, I would need to make a modest adjustment, which I would be better able to estimate when I have an actual date. Basically, I am confident that my bid would be just as competitive as it was when I originally bid it. Thanks for inquiring as I had not received your previous message, for some reason it was placed out of sequence by Uship. (4/19/2008)

Response: Perhaps Havre would work better for both of us. Looking on the map it doesn't look too far from Great Falls and if I left early in the morning, I could likely get there by lunchtime. I still have to register the paperwork with customs in order to be able to import the car to Canada, but your timeframe of early-mid May would give me plenty of time to do that.
Scott (4/20/2008)

Response: That would get your price down some as well. We'd come in at $563.25 to Havre. Kevin (4/21/2008)

Response: I just realized that it is already the 22nd of the month. I will likely need 10-14 days to get the proper paperwork sent to me and get it registered with US Customs to export the car from US to Canada. Will we still be good for time for me to get that done?
Scott (4/22/2008)

Response: I can work around your schedule if you are committed. I can place a bid when you are ready for me to do so, and I will simply include some language for contingencies for scheduling, and price variations if fuel prices increase drastically between the bid date and the date that you are ready to ship. I hate to be that way, but with news talking about 30 cents a gallon in two weeks. A month from now I could be dealing with a whole different set of numbers, and I must maintain a profitable business. I am sure that you can see that my rates are very competitive, and that will not change. I do not believe in overbidding to cover worst case scenario, I would rather be fair with you. Kevin

Response: If the car was ready to be picked up by the latter part of the week, when would you envision it being in Havre for pick-up? (4/28/2008)

Response: We could probably deliver Monday evening if we picked it up this week. Tuesday morning if Monday evening did not work out for you. Do you want me to go ahead and place the bid? (4/28/2008)

Response: I sent a message to the guy on the weekend. Just waiting to hear back from you. I will let you know shortly. (4/28/2008)

Response: You are waiting to hear back from me? Forgive me, what did I not answer? (4/29/2008)

Response: No, sorry, not from you, from the guy selling the car. Based on my schedule and the amount of time needed to file the paperwork with customs, it would likely be next Wed. or Thurs. before I could meet to pick up the car. Would that still work for you? (4/29/2008)

Response: At this point, if we picked up the car by Tuesday of next week, we could deliver Thursday in Havre, if that is the plan. If for some reason that did not work out (unexpected delays with customs or work schedule or whatever) we could store the car for a few days here and ship it out the following week. Would you like me to place the bid so that you can accept it and we can talk on the phone to work out the details? Kevin (4/29/2008)

Response: If you would like to submit a bid, that would be good. Is the drop-off point negotiable? From looking at a map, I might ask you to haul it to Glasgow, MT. It shortens the trip for me and opens my list of available dates to meet you, as I can do it in a day. Finally, how do you manage payment? Thanks, Scott (4/30/2008)

Response: We could do Glasgow as well. That is 909 miles, so it is a two day run as we can only drive 11 hours a day, so that might change scheduling a bit. If we picked up Monday we could deliver Wednesday. Or, depending on times, we might still be able to deliver Thursday, but we have to load by 5 Friday in Boise for another load. As far as payment, we do cash, cashier's check, or money order on delivery. Or, you can deposit through PayPal with a credit card or bank account transfer. We can do that once we accept the bid. The amount to Glasgow would be $681.75. If you wanted me to go that far, you may want me to go ahead and take it on to Plentywood for you as you originally had planned, if so that would be the $745.25 that I quoted you originally (only about $60 more) or Havre at the $563.25. I will go ahead and place the bid for Havre, but show the additional charge for either Glasgow or Plentywood. (4/30/2008)

Response: The way it looks right now, I could meet you in Plentywood on Thursday afternoon, likely around 4pm. Does that work for you? Or does it need to be earlier to allow you to get back to Boise in time on Friday? (5/1/2008)
