Additional Information:
I have two inoperable parts cars that I have purchase. Possible third car. All are 1963 Pontiacs. One is a Lemans convertible, the other two are Tempest 2-door coupes. They have been sitting in a junkyard for years. Tires are flat. They have been moved out of the junkyard and are at the seller's home for pickup. The cars are located in Franklinton, NC, approximately 20 miles north of Raleigh, NC. Cars are approximately 10 miles off of I-85. I need them delivered to Vale, NC which is located in Lincoln County. I border Catawba county in the Hickory area. My home is 17 miles off of I-40 West. One way trip from Franklinton, NC to Vale, NC is approximately 185 miles.[phone number removed] Honesty and integrity are my guiding business principals. Thank you.
Questions for this shipment:
Question:
Hi, Are you wanting them moved all at once, or one at a time is ok? I have a winch on my trailer but can do only one at a time. Your price range would be nice also, Thanks WKendrick (2/27/2008)
Response:
I was hoping to save some money and get two hauled at once. But I may have to go with one at a time. I was hoping to get two hauled for about $500.00. Individually, about $300.00 or so. I don't expect it to be done for free, given the price of gas/diesel these days. Do you have a charge per mile? Are you located in NC? Thanks. (2/27/2008)
Response:
Yes, I live in asheboro, nc. Will your cars at least roll? I know you said the tires are flat and needed to know if any other problems with getting onto my trailer. It's a regular car trailer with ramps and winch. If all looks good I can do for 250.00 each. Thanks WKendrick (2/27/2008)
Response:
Please see my other response. (2/27/2008)
Question:
Sorry meant to ask can this be done on weekend or needs to be done during the weekday? Thanks again WKendrick (2/27/2008)
Response:
It can be done on the weekend - Sat. or Sunday. The Lemans convertible has one axle out with no tire. There are three remaining tires on the car however. The only part that I am worried about on the car is the shifter mechanism that runs to the rear and 4-speed transmission in the rear. I can pull an axle from a parter car and get a spare tire. It would take me another week to pull the axle as I work during the week. If on a Saturday, I could meet you at a mutually convenient spot to go get the car and bring the axle. These cars should roll, but have to have all four wheels on the trailer. Thanks. (2/27/2008)
Question:
Is there any way you can post some pictures of these cars so we can "see what you see." Most of us have pulled inop cars before so we might be able to help you solve some of these problems without you having to pull an axle etc. I am located in Raleigh and am interested in these three transports. Does the pickup location have a tractor or means to assist in loading? Chris (2/27/2008)
Response:
I bought the cars in person recently, but didn't take any pictures. I'll call the seller tonight and see what I can obtain. I'll also verify what type of assistance may be available in loading the car. How many cars can you carry at a time? Just one? Do you have a rate per mile? Also, these cars are the same size as the early Chevy II Novas if that helps you some on dimensions. Thank you for your inquiry. (2/27/2008)
Response:
Thanks for the quick response. It would be great to have some pictures. I can carry one at a time on goose neck trailer or enclosed if you want. I will be $295 each, better if I can cooridinate something coming back toward Raleigh. If it took 2 days to get the 3 cars would that be ok? My Dad had a 63 Lemans when I was younger. I know the car. I have a Plymouth Fury III convertible. It is HUGE. Thanks again, Chris (2/27/2008)
Question:
I'm right here in morganton and can do this for you. I can do two at a time. what would be an acceptable price for you? (2/27/2008)
Response:
I think that I responded already, but just in case I didn't, I was thinking about approximately $400.00. Please let me hear from you. Thanks. Tarheeltempest (2/28/2008)
Response:
I can do it for $454, if thats acceptable (2/28/2008)
Response:
Round trip, 2 cars, correct? (2/28/2008)
Response:
To raliegh..pick up 2 cars and return to vale..correct. Im gonna need 2 good tires on 1 car also (2/28/2008)
Question:
R ya still there? (2/28/2008)
Response:
Another quick question. Does your roll back have a steel bed? The convertible will need to be put on the back. I was reminded by the seller that one axle is out on the rear on one side. If pulled on the trailer, I would not want any damage to an aluminum bed. (2/28/2008)
Response:
Yes I can pull a trailer,,if I had one. You can ride along if you want to...not a problem. Accept my bid and we'll work it out . Sat is good ,if you like. (2/28/2008)
Question:
STEEL BED (2/28/2008)
Question:
Well, I waited for your response, but I assume your busy at work. Let me know what you want to do and we'll go from there. Tom (2/28/2008)
Response:
Tom, Can you get a trailer? Also, is this Saturday a possibility? I want to contact the seller and arrange to be there. Once I confirm everything, we will firm things up. I can get us tires, etc. if we need them. I just want this to be smooth for everyone. I can't reach him until this evening. (I spoke to him last night.) I have a friend who has a trailer, but I'm not sure if it is tagged. It does have working brake lights, etc. as we used it recently. You're not the cheapest, but working with you, given where you are makes more sense to me. Give me until tomorrow morning to respond/accept please. Thanks. Mark (2/28/2008)
Response:
I don't have access to a trailer. you can rent 1 from uha.. for $50 a day...but If we towed the hardtop from the rear, you don't think it would make it? It's up to you...see if your buddies trailer is available and yes, I'll give you till tommorrow. (2/28/2008)
Response:
Thanks. I'll follow up tomorrow. (2/28/2008)
Question:
I don't think your cheaper bid relizes it's 2 cars, that looks like a 1 car bid to me. Yes sat is good for me but I need to know asap, thanks , tom (2/28/2008)
Response:
I agree, I questioned that too. You have to make a reasonable profit. I will accept your bid. Do you have a trailer hitch/ball for a dolly if I am to rent one? I don't know the standard size. Never rented one from U-haul. Don't know if a hitch/ball comes with the deal or not. I wouldn't haul two cars for $287. Thanks. (2/28/2008)
