Question: Hi, I am about 60 mi from you in St. Marys County and will be going down to that area within your time frame and can haul both boat and trailer on my flatbed w/ramps. Looks like you're new to U ship. U ship recommends verifying haulers to be legal and insured since info in profiles are NOT verified. Interstate "for hire" transport requires VALID MC# (Motor Carrier#), USDOT#, and commercial liability and cargo ins. I would provide my ins agents# so you can verify my legality and that your property and liability are completely covered. Would there be a little help to load? I have a winch if there's means to back unto trailer? Please review my feedback although I haul new equipment/boats/tractors so have plenty more ref's outside U ship. Thanks (11/7/2009)

Response: I am working with a boat broker and the boat is at a personal residence. I can't answer whether there will be any help beyond someone acting as a spotter.
I wouldn't anticipate any warehouse type equipments or personnel.
How would you plan to load and unload this boat and trailer from the flatbed?
Thanks,
Phil (11/7/2009)

Response: Hi Phil, I have loaded many new & used boats on trailers without any vehicle assistance, I have a 10,000 lbs winch and my goose neck trailer has 3 ramps, an easy task. The most important issue is I am legal and insured to cover your boat/trailer and liability and will provide you with ins agents# to verify, I know you didn't require that but most don't know they can. Time frame is perfect for me, please review my feedback although have many outside U ship. Thanks (11/7/2009)

Response: can you submit a bid? I apologize if you have but I don't see it.
Phil (11/7/2009)

Response: Hi Phil, I haven't submitted a bid yet. If you read my feedback you'll see I have no cancellations and no bad or neutral feedback, that's because I make sure I know when and how and there's no surprises. Looks like most of the bids are towing and would you rather have it moved by trailer? I will work up a bid Mon when I can map it out. When do you plan on making a decision? Thanks (11/7/2009)

Response: I would prefer to use a trailer as opposed to towing the boat , assuming the cost is not prohibitive.
I am in process of finalizing my purchase of the boat. The dealer needs to finish some paperwork that will allow me to register the boat back here in Maryland.
At this point, I anticipate the deal to be completed by Thursday. I would like to have the towing set up and scheduled prior to Thursday.
If the purchase gets delayed for any reason, I should know by Tuesday and would let all parties know so I didn't cause someone to miss an opportunity because of me.
(11/7/2009)

Response: Hi Phil, Ok be back with you Mon. Thanks (11/7/2009)

Question: I can meet your time frame... does the boat have plates and when will it be ready to go (11/7/2009)

Response: no there are no current plates for the boat and trailer.
I hope to have the boat purchase completed by the end of next week 11/13 (11/7/2009)

Response: that would be great.. I can do it that week immediately following. What are you looking to spend (11/7/2009)

Response: I want to spend as little as possible, I have discussed both the towing and trailering of the boat back to Maryland.
Above $900 would not be considered for a standard tow (11/8/2009)

Question: Hi there we can move your boat for you for $800, please beware people blowing smoke, your best assurance that some one is and does what they say is the feedback you see here on the Uship profile, that is there from real customers who have been serviced and put in writing the real thoughts of how the move went. Believe me its easy to have a 100% record after only a few matches, but try nearly 500 matches with a 100% record, now that`s hard believe me. I could tell you I have 100 years experience and am the best thing since sliced bread, but that would be my words not those of satisfied bona fide customers, in short believe your fellow customers they have nothing to gain when leaving feedback. (11/8/2009)

Response: is this price for a standard tow or is this a price for my boat to be trailered to Maryland?
Could you give me a price for each?
I should know by Tuesday which method I will use.
Any negatives to trailering the load?
Thanks,
Phil (11/8/2009)

Response: Standard price if there were such a thing, for a competent company would be $1 per mile, but in todays times everyone and their dog is moving things, down to borrowing Grandmas station wagon and hauling stuff for gas and beer money, so beware cheap cheap prices they could lead to more than saving a few bucks, as to the pros and cons of towing and trailering, trailering will always be more expensive as you are paying for loading space, the only problems with being towed would be wheel bearings not in good order and tires blowing due to dry rot and lack of use, we carry 14,15 and 16 spares at all times so we dont get caught out. Ultimately the decision is yours, just be careful, its your property and your money, never ever pay up front, if I cant afford to move your trailer and get the money when your satisfied and the jobs done, then I shouldn`t be out there moving stuff. (11/8/2009)

Response: thanks for the advice. Can you give me a quote for trailering? The Boat and motor are only 2 years old so the wheel bearings should be in good shape, but I have no way of knowing what kind of breaing and if they have been lubricated between uses.
Phil (11/8/2009)

Response: As mentioned previously we can do this for $800, we only place bids when we have gone backwards and forwards with the client and answered all and any questions , to the point where they are happy to proceed, the reason for this is that we need to keep tabs on what we are doing and promising, in our view its foolish to have 20 plus bids out where its possible that there could be a conflict, or cherry picking the best loads then dumping the excess clients due to spurious breakdowns or any other reason that springs to mind, thus leaving the client high and dry at the last moment, read the feedbacks you will see what I mean. (11/8/2009)

Question: im getting ready to head for NY within next 4to5 days, if you can ship then i'll bring your boat along for 650. cod if interested i need to know asap so i can bid.......... (11/8/2009)

Response: I am in the process of completing the purchase of the boat and trailer. I may not be able to confirm my need until later in the week.
I am also looking into the cost to trailer my load to Maryland instead of towing.
Based on this we probably don't have a good fit.
Sorry,
Phil (11/8/2009)

Response: are you ready to ship ? if so, do you have a way to load & unload off my trailer ??? (11/11/2009)

Response: I am in the process of completing the purchase. should be complete by early next week.
The load is located at a residential location and will be delivered at a residential location, so there are no means to load and unload this boat (11/11/2009)

Question: i would like to ask why you beclined my bid (11/8/2009)

Response: Your price was competitive with other bids I received. You placed an 11/9/09 expiration on the bid and since I am still completing the purchase I will not be prepared to make a selection until later in the week.
I am also reviewing a couple of bids that offer trailered shipment of my boat.
Phil (11/8/2009)

Response: ok thank you when you are ready to go with this let me know and we see what we can do for you (11/8/2009)

Question: Hi again Phil, I will get back with you later this evening, it sounds like you don't have the deal completed yet anyway. I wanted to point out in my first comment, someone tried to flag it, but U ship turned it green which means I didn't say anything that wasn't true. Again if we can work this out, the easiest way to prove my legality and that your property and your liability is covered is to provide my ins agents # so you can verify yourself, since you are probably not familiar with the FMCSA (Fed Motor Carrier's Safety Admin) web site. You may also want to review the U ship's discussion and recommendations on legal haulers. Do you have any confimation on your purchase yet? Thanks (11/9/2009)

Question: hi shipper do you still need your boat delivered, if so we can pick up friday or monday for 725.00 if this is ok let me know.thanks bill (11/9/2009)

Response: I'm working to complete the purchase this week, so I can't give you a definite answer.
DO you provide trailer service if I decide I don't want to do a standard tow? (11/10/2009)

Response: hi no i provide tow behind my truck. please let me know what you decide. thanks bill (11/10/2009)

Response: I hope to have the shipment completed before Thanksgiving. If something unforseen occurs, I have your information and I may get back to you. (11/13/2009)
