Questions for this shipment:
Question:
Sir do you realize that diesel fuel is now 3.48 cents per gallon?? Whit this in mind, what is a fair price in your mind to load, unload and transport??? (11/1/2007)
Response:
Depends. If you're doing two other deliveries that day, am I wholly responsible for your fuel from Troy to Indy? For that matter, am I responsible for the return trip fuel? Assuming you're taking a reasonable sized transport for this single vehicle, a 10 mpg rough estimate, 130 mile trip, under $50 in fuel each way. It shouldn't take you any more than 1/2 an hour to load the vehicle, and 1/2 an hour to unload the vehicle, resulting in 3 hours pick up to drop. $50-100 for that labor seems fair to me. I'll do $175, I already have a standing offer for $200. (11/1/2007)
Response:
We are taking a trackhoe and a skidloader to auction, so that means we haul big trailers. 21000 lb capacity. Dont forget to add uships 10 percent to the bid. Your fuel estimate is correct. After we pay driver rates of 20 an hour and calcualte the 10 percent uship, we lose money. We cant do for any less. We make a living at this. We dont do this for fun. Our families have to eat. If you can find a guy that wants to sight see and he can do it for 200, then if I were you I would hire him in a heartbeat. Good luck with your shipment. (11/1/2007)
Question:
Its amazing sir apparently you do not relize the cost of doing buisness besides fuel. There are hundreds of dollars in insurance and registrations. I see your point but lets see one the big movers do it for $175. And you might wanna thank your buddy if hes going to do it for $200. (11/1/2007)
Response:
I'm not looking for a "big mover" to do this, hence the reason for using this site. I'm really not looking for a professional to do this job, because of the short distance, I'm looking for a man with a truck and a trailer who wants to make an easy couple bucks one evening. I'm betting you're not that man. I'm also aware of the miscellaneous expenses, however, with the ability to set the time you should be able to coordinate another shipment for the return trip and halve my contribution to your overhead. (11/1/2007)
Question:
i can do this for you on monday the 5th for the $175 thanks wilie (11/2/2007)
Question:
if this will fit on my car dolly i could do it sunday for $150 as long as the gas dont go up to much more (11/2/2007)
Response:
sounds good. let me know the width on your car dolly, a 59 chevy is a wide car. (11/3/2007)
Question:
I can get this for you $170.00 Insured at no additional cost. I am a owner operator and I have a 45ft Gooseneck car hauler. It is liscensed up to 21000lbs. I would gladly get this moved for you,Thank you. Randy W/McCune Auto Transport, (11/3/2007)
Response:
Can you do it this weekend? I'll definitely take you up on that offer, if so. (11/3/2007)
Response:
I can do it monday...Randy (11/3/2007)
Question:
Make that monday evening or tuesday morning,Randy (11/3/2007)
Response:
Sounds good at $160. Put in the bid and I'll accept it. Tomorrow would be best. (11/4/2007)
Response:
I had two other bids come in since I submitted the last bid. The soonest I can get this now is Wednesday evening or thursday morning, but I will still do it then if you like! Thanx,Randy (11/4/2007)
Question:
I don't know where he is buying fuel at $3.46 a gallon but I can get it in Indiana for $3.06 a gallon. That is still High! (11/3/2007)
