Question: Your trip is 1800 miles +. I'll be headed your way across I-80 in another month - maybe sooner. I can go down to MO to pick this up. What do you have in mind for a budget? Response: ok, sounds like it might work, I listed a budget of 600.00 to bring it here if I can secure that with someone, my intention would then be to make a deal with seller. If all can be coordinated with everyone then I would buy the car and pay that driver to bring it back somewhere reasonably local so I can pick it up! I'm in no hurry actually, and neither is seller at last contact, so your timeframe would be all there is! Question: I guess I don't quite understand what you have in mind as far as buying the car is concerned but I can't move it for you for $.33/mile. Current rate is $.85/mile or right at $1500 and off route miles to pick this up would add another $200. No charge for winching to load. Response: whoa, are you serious? It must've went up a bit since last fall, in october I shipped a car to Connecticut from here, a transport picked it up, had about 7 other vehicles on it, cost 950.00, from Paradise, Ca. to Connecticut and I see ads all the time , never seen one more than 1100.00 for nice cars and this thing is about 1400 lb. old VW with no motor and gutted, bet it doesn't even weigh that, anyhow, thanks for your response (2/25/2007)

Question: C'mon. Do the math. 8 times $950 is $7600. I'd pick your car up for $950 too if I was hauling 7 others. I only move 2 vehicles at once and your trip is 2-3 days each way. Fuel is the same for me as it is for the big haulers and the regulations are the same. When you post a listing, put in there you want a multi-car carrier. Good luck. (2/25/2007)

Question: Hi! Although you likely consider this as junk & aptly so, it seems you should list this under vehicles where you probably will get more exposure under that heading. Response: I've decided to pass on the car for now, I've bought 3 cars here, so it will be awhile before I am interested in that car again, but just for grins, how much was your bid, I didn't see it anywhere, thanks for responding, who knows, I will be in the market for more old VW again later this year and that one might be available and you might be coming this way again, thanks again, jack (3/7/2007)

Response: hmm, ya know Uship estimates it at 650.00 which is why I put down 600, I just sold a car to a guy in Connecticut and it cost 950.00 to go clear cross country,twice as far, I couldn't see this rate then, thanks anyhow (3/8/2007)
