On your first question you informed me that you could do it for $1165. and I didn't realize I had to accept or decline, so I did neither. Your next question asked if I still needed the move and I said yes. You now ask what I think a "fair price to haul such a large heavy truck". Truck isn't larger or heavier than a newer one ton truck. I'm waiting on confirmation of a $750. bid. I think the broker has a truck that isn't fully loaded coming my way. I do hotrods and sell and buy up north frequently. Have a '32 chevy coupe body in NY I need to haul down one of these days. Some I pick up and deliver my self. Some I hire someone. Don't know if you can compete with that price, but with the economy the way it is, I have to take the best deal. Thanks for your interest and stay in touch in case my current deal falls through. Response: Well, she started with a $700 more or less. Next time she said $750. Talked to her this A.M. and she said she was trying to find someone. I didn't know she had it listed on another site. $600 @ .57 is right. Guess she is trying to make $200 plus for arranging it. Mapquest shows it as 960 miles from Falfurrias, Tx. to Hoxie, Ks. Response: Hello,Joe.The other carrier is correct,this site gets a BIG chunk.Example if I enter in the bid calculator that the site has that I want $800 to me,it brings the bid to $960 total.I am sorry about your luck with the broker,butt it honestly does not strike me as odd,as most brokers feel it cost allot to run that computer and drive that desk.Dont get me wrong some brokers are good and us carriers are forced to us them,mostly of the site central where she has your truck posted at $600.Just sad she gouging you and dinging the truckers,a honest broker rate should be $50 to $100 tops in my opinion,as my wife has worked as a broker so we know both sides of this dirty coin,lol.Ed (9/12/2009)

Response: Around $800. Before I bought the truck, this broker I was talking to, thought she could do it for $700, Then $750, Seems like everytime I talk to her, she goes up $50. I could move it myself for a lot less, but my truck/trailer is not heavy enough to move it complete. I could take my torch and cut it in half and bring the cab, which is what I wanted originally. However, after talking to the owner, I thought it was too nice to cut up and that's why I'm looking to ship it complete. I figure it's worth $400. extra dollars to have it shipped in one piece.
