Response: Hello, The antique car is in pieces. Rolling chassis with fenders, bumpers doors and hood all removed. Various other loose parts all in cardboard boxes would have to be transported with the chassis and kept safe and sound. Many of the loose parts are not replaceable and must make it to California. We have one spot left on our trip leaving right after the new year, and I can offer a better price than I quoted if we can get this to work for both of us. Response: Hi Don, The MG to be transported does not run. In fact, it is in pieces with a chassis that rolls, might not steer and probably doesn't brake. The fenders, hood, running boards and doors have been removed and will have to be shipped with the chassis. There are also several boxes and containers full of parts. Do you think that you can deliver all of this stuff and get it to me In California without anything missing? Thanks12/16/2008

Response: : We absolutely can. It is just the parts from the original car - not extra duplicate parts I assume? It's always easier when it is in one piece, but approximately 5% of our customer's cars ship partially disassembled, so we can handle it. We have a single car enclosed trailer too, but I can't imagine how anyone could match a multicar transporter for a west coast trip on price - you just couldn't get enough money for one car each way to make it worthwhile - but that is just my opinion of course. Response: Thanks for your reply. As I mentioned, this car is in pieces. It is a pretty rare auto and therefore I can't afford to have any of the parts go missing on transport as I would not be able to replace them. Your price is good but on multi car transports with the shuffling around of cars I fear for lost parts. The seller is preparing the car to ship to me. It might take him some time. I know you mentioned that you will make a load on Jan. 2 I am not sure he will have everything ready.12/17/2008

Response: : As I mentioned, the parts are not a problem. We don't swap cars around into other trucks or anything like that. Either myself or my father drives the truck, will pick up the car and parts, and deliver without further transfers etc. We've never had a problem with lost parts or anything like that. We do west coast trips once every six weeks. If you are talking one or two day delay we may be able to wait. Or we can work with you on our next trip. Response: Don, Thanks for the information. I have not heard from the seller in a couple of weeks so I doubt if he will have the car and all the parts ready to be shipped by Jan. 2nd. I will contact him by email and get back to you. If he is not ready, when is your next trip to the west coast? Another question, when you give me a date for picking up the car, are you good for that day or is it a three day window? Response: : Our next trip will be mid to end of February. We can give a very accurate date for pickup - that shouldn't be a problem. We were off for a few days for the Holidays, but I'm out gathering up cars for this next trip. I believe there is still a spot left so let me know if anything changes. Response: Thanks for your bid. Just to be clear on the shipment, the MG is in pieces. The current owner started a renovation, but has lost interest. The car chassis rolls, but may or might not steer. The fenders,doors, bumpers running boards. hood, radiator and numerous other parts are loose with lots of boxes to be shipped with the chassis. Since it is a rare car, parts are difficult to find, therefore it is important to me that nothing gets lost in the shipment. Is this the type of job that you want? Response: Chris, The Seller informed me that the antique MG should be ready to be picked up in Spring City, Pa. by Jan 5 or 6. He would need an exact time as he works and doesn't have time to wait around waiting for pickup. As I mentioned in my listing, the Chassis rolls but might not steer or brake and there are lots of loose parts such as doors and fenders and radiator as well as boxes of small pieces. I need for all to arrive here in California safely and in tact. I would like to pay no more than $2500.
