Additional Information:
Need someone to pickup my 1933 Willys, 4 door sedan streetrod project car in Wisconisn and deliver it to me in San Ysidro, CA. The car is not running and in fact does not have a drivetrain but is on a rolling chassis. Several sealed boxes of additional parts will be secured inside the vehilce during the transport. It will need to be trailered and the person you would be picking it up from will give you a copy of the bill of sale stating that I am the owner and that you are authorized to transport said vehicle.
Questions for this shipment:
Question:
Hi, Thanks for the bid request. I would love to transport your project, after all that's what I do! Please check my driver profile and feedback. I am afraid I can't come anywhere near your target price. IF I can get a eastbound load, I could do it for about $.80cents a loaded mile. 2179miles, thats $1743.20. for that you get full attention to your car, on a single car trailer, your loose parts will be secured in my covered pickup bed or the car itself. I do door to door and keep close contact with the shipper, at least once a day update on progress etc. If I can't get the eastbound load my fee would be $1.60 a loaded mile or 80cents a mile for the round trip. I live in Fallbrook, North SanDiego County. I would not be able to leave for WI until the first week of July. I am booked from the 20th to the 29th of June. Thanks for your consideration. Please respond. Jim "fearlessfossil" JAL (6/16/2006)
Response:
Hi Jim, Thanks for the quick response. I actually can not have the car picked up until after the 22nd of July anyways. I understand the pricing. I guess the reason I figured that I could get somewhere near the target price is that I did see another job quoted from WI to No.Cal for $850. To be perfectly honest I can not afford the bid you provided but I did read your profile and realize that you are one of the best in the business. I was kind of hoping to find someone that perhaps had a larger trailer that maybe hauling several cars back from the same area to different drop off locations throughout the South which might allow for a slightly better price. Also the actual drop off location may change to a shop in Anaheim but that is still up in the air. Anyhow I really do appreciate your quick response. Thank you very much. Don (6/16/2006)
Question:
Hi Don, Boy I do understand what you are saying. Your problem is-A non runner, with loose parts, With a multi car carrier they have to be able to unload and reload your car in order to shuffel things around for the many different pickup and delivery stops. Thats not a negative against them it's what they have to do. Problem with a single car hauler like me is that car has to pay all the freight. Fuel, lodging, meals, wear and tear and maint of the towing/carrying vehicle etc. Anyway, keep me in mind and if things work out so you can use me, let me know, I will do you a good job. (And I would like to see the finished project! Willys, How neat!) look me up on my ebay store under my seller name (fearlessfossil) I have a picture of my 30 Plym roadster posted there. Jim "fearlessfossil" JAL (6/16/2006)
Question:
Thanks for the bid request. I see that you stated car couldn't be picked up til July. I will be in WI tomorrow loading and heading for CA. I would do it for your $850 if it was possible to have ready in 2 days. Thanks Colby @ Teegardin Transport. (6/18/2006)
Response:
Hi Colby, I sure wish I could have the car ready for you within two days but that is not going to be possible as I will not be finished paying it off until July 12th at the very earliest. If you will be back in the area in mid-July or towards the end of July I would gladly give you the job. Please let me know if you think you could arrange something for me then. Thank you so much for your response. I look real forward to hearing from you soon. Thanks, Don. 6/18/06 (6/18/2006)
Question:
Hi thanks for the request. At first I was gonna curse because I just filled the last spot in the way to Cali leave this Sunday, but I see from the Q&A its a mid July time frame. You maybe hearing from us, we go to Cali alot it seems. Just for an idea, we would need atleast $800, JFYI. ;) Dont pass something up in the meantime. Got you on the watch. Thanks:) (6/23/2006)
Response:
Just checking back with you to see if you will be in Wisconsin in late July and would be willing to transport my car? I sure hope so as I would gladly pay your quote of $800 and as the time date is approaching I really need to get something locked in. Anyhow let me know if you think this transport is a posibility for you in the near future? Thank you very much. Sincerely, Don (6/23/2006)
Question:
'morning Don. You must be psychic. ;) I was just checking out your shippment yesturday. We're heading to NY/CT now and we might be forced to take a CT to Cali to load out, yours has a spot if it happens. Only thing, this friday we're starting a 2 week full rotation with one of our PD contracts, we usally have all hands on deck for this with the added load. We could work around this, if the seller is quick to ship and you can't wait a couple/few more weeks, we could get it sooner and bring it to our facility here in Elgin, IL Fully secure, manned 24/7. If this works, Cali will be a definate trip as soon as we can spare a driver (it wont be months). Lemme know if you want to go this route I can place a bid now and we'll talk on the phone. quote stands :) (7/5/2006)
Response:
Hello, I just answered another transport company before I saw your question. The car will be ready to go anytime after the 22nd of July. If I can not come to an agreement with the other company I will be glad to use your services if you can handle the shipment after the 22nd of this month. I really appreciate you contacting me and hope that we can do some business in the future, if not on this shipment perhaps on another one. I have been shopping for old motors all over the country and may need someone to transport one for me. Do you handle small, 300 lb, freight type shipments as well? Thanks for contacting me. I will let you know either way how things work out. Sincerely, Don (7/5/2006)
Question:
Hello, I'm going to be in Wi. in few weeks, then heading home to AZ. I would be happy to haul this neat car for you.! I have a carhauler trailer with a winch. I'll go ahead and place my bid and please let me know if these dates work with you. Please keep in mind my bid includes Uship fee's and little extra fuel Ca.-Az.Much appreciated! Thankyou, Kenny (7/5/2006)
Response:
Hi Kenny, Exactly what date do you plan on returning from Wisconsin? Let me know and I will let you know if it will work out. If you will be returning after the 22nd I am pretty sure we can work this out and I will accept your bid. This is great and I look real forward to hearing back from you soon. Thanks. Don (7/5/2006)
Question:
Hello Don, Thanks for your quick reply. Yes,I'm pretty flexible with return time, although I plan to be home in Az. around 7/26, so the 22nd or there-abouts is o.k with me. I look forward to working with you!I'm big into Classics ect.. Thank You, Kenny (7/5/2006)
Response:
Hi Kenny, Thanks for the quick response. It looks like things will work out great. What do you require to get things rolling? Please let me know. Check me out on Ebay under username "Mitsee" to see some of the parts, etc., I have been buying for the car. Would love to hear from you and discuss cars in more depth. I will accept your offer once I know what your terms are. Thanks again for everything. Sincerely, Don. (7/5/2006)
Question:
