Question: I have to be dot/mc and "IFTA" rated as well since my cgvw will exceed 26,000 lbs, isn't that correct? (9/25/2007)
Response: With this equipment load and my truck ( duramax ) this package scales out @ 23840. The true weight of the load, including trailer is 15,340. So I guess it all depends on the weight of the tow vehicle, as to the need for the IFTA rating, isn't that correct ? (9/26/2007)
Response: You are correct, With our 1 ton (9,000lbs and your original weight (18, 000lbs), it put us over 26,000 lbs. (9/26/2007)
Response: I used the 18K weight to weed out the little trucks. My truck is down in Georgia, where I hit a deer and waiting for parts with the GM strike messing it up, but am contracted to do this project in KS and need my equipment on the site. Thanks for your questions. Neal (9/26/2007)
Question: i have a 1 ton ford pick up and would like to haul your trailer. to my knowledge i dont see why all the numbers are needed. i dont have any but would like to move your trailer. pick up saturday and delivery would be sunday night. thanks talk to you soon (9/27/2007)
Response: The numbers are making you transporting "my equipment for hire " , legal. If you were to be stopped, your truck and my trailer could be impounded, you would have big tickets and fines and I wouldn't get my equipment where it needs to be on time. If you were to get in an accident, it's way worse. I'm sure your a great guy and would do a wonderful job, but I can't risk my equipment or jepordize my relationship with my customer.
