Questions for this shipment:

Question: Hi, is there a chance you would allow boat to be towed? they are pulled cross country all the time. Thank you (2/16/2006)
Response: I'd consider that, although insurance would be a must. (2/16/2006)
Question: hello, I'd tow it with my Suburban for $1800, pick up in about 10 days. (2/16/2006)
Response: Your quote is well below the others I received, which leads me to beleive that something isn't right. Thanks, but no Thanks (2/16/2006)
Question: Hello Shipper I can make this haul for you for $2900 all fees included. I have the insurance needed for this haul. As well your haul falls under DOT regulations and requires a DOT authorized driver. I am just such a driver. Please click on my user name to view my feedback. I have made many many boat hauls from coast to coast on their own trailers! You will have a worry free transport with me! Please let me know and I will place a formal bid and we can close this deal for you! Thank you for your time! (2/16/2006)
Response: $2900 is a bit expensive, over $1/mile. You probably get 14-16 mpg owing my 2500lb boat...This is about $500 in gas, I don't see the other fees being more than $300. So your profit is basically $2100? Show me an itemized cost sheet of how you came up with $2900 and I'll think about it (2/16/2006)
Question: [content removed] (2/16/2006)
Response: Thanks for the heads up (2/16/2006)
Question: Hello, I transport RV's NationWide.. I have Trucks delivering units to California on a Weekly basis.. Have all proper Cargo Insurance and fully Licensed and DOT inspected equipment. Would like the opportunity to ship this boat for You for FAIR price. Please Respond so I Can Connect You To A Driver Already in This AREA so We can save U $$ in shipping charges. Thanks!!! (2/17/2006)
Response: What is a fair price? The boat cannot be shipped until I am in the destination area, which is 2 weeks from now. (2/17/2006)
Question: Hi There; I agree with some of the above comments about legal hauling, which I am. My rate is $1.15 a mile and is covered by $100,000 cargo insurance. You can check out my uship (tjsyacht) profile and see what I offer. I also have a dealer in West Sacramento that I deliver to which would allow you to check me out locally, Sacramento River Marine. If interested let me know. T. J. (2/17/2006)
Response: T.J., Is your rate of $1.15/mile firm? (2/17/2006)
Question: where did MR. DOT come from? your r not the only legal one out here if you r legal WILIE (2/17/2006)
Response: .. (2/17/2006)
Question: sorry you think something is hinky with my bid. I can do it because I need a back haul for a delivery I'm doing, and I know exactly what my expenses will be. If the trailer is in good condition, it's an easy run for me AND I can make money at that rate. Not every good deal is a scam, but I understand your reluctance. Maybe check my feedback? I'd give references also. However, if you're nervous, forget it and find a high-dollar hauler to do the same job at twice the price. To you DOT scare-mongers: KMA! it so happens that I am legal, if it were any of your business. You're like whiney little kids with your crap. I wouldn't hire one of you to move a chair across the room. (2/18/2006)
Response: I didn't want my response to come off as being rude, but when I look back at what I wrote I could see how one could misunderstand, and I apologize for that. What time frame will you be in his area? (2/18/2006)
Question: your response to the 2900 bid contradicts your statement about my 1800 bid....? do you want a fair price or just want to argue? If I were you, I'd check on the nonsense they're filling you with. It defies logic. DOT is going to impound a boat being towed? Even if they would/could, are you going to believe DOT is stopping all the little trucks to find out if they have "AUTHORITY" to haul their loads? HAH! I've made 4 coast-to-coast trips in the last 4 months, got stopped twice: for a tailight out on my trailer, and a missing license plate on the trailer. NEVER was asked about "authority" or any questions about the load. Why wouldnt you let a little guy haul it (NOT referring to me) to help both of you? All I'd say if stopped would be, yeh, I'm hauling a boat for a buddy who's helping defray my expenses getting home. GEEZ, make a big deal out of it, your pro-big boys will. Let's get real. Just gotta have and control all the $loads, huh? (2/18/2006)
Question: I wouldnt want a guy who has been stopped 4 times in a short period of time hauling my boat, one who follows all the proper DOT laws wouldnt have to worry about lights out because your suppose to check those evry time you stop, I have been doing this for over 20 years and have been stopped 4 times in that whole 20 years beware of this guy shipper he is makeing excuses that all hes doing. In the last 7 months I have transported 3 boats that I picked up directly from Oklahoma, Arizona, and orgon at DOT impound yards, impounded from drivers because they did not have proper authority, you have been nothing but lucky like most transporters that do this illegaly you get lucky but its that one time that burns you. Keep making exuces, excuses are NOTHING but the addmission of guilt. Practice the six P's.... Prior, Planning, Prevents, Piss, Poor, Preformance. (2/18/2006)
Question: Where to begin? This is a 2900 mile trip. Google and Yahoo place it at that distance. No mileage is based on 10 MPG always! Loads are from 7 to 14 so 10 is what everyone is factored in at. I am right now pulling a 3000 lb pound boat and getting 13. So 2900 miles is 290 Gallons of fuel. $2.65 a gal X 290 =$768, Now add Uship fee's of $300, Pay Pal fee's $50, Oil Change, tire rotation and so on $120, Food and Drink $30 a day, hotel $60 a night X 5 nights $300. We are $1538 Ware and tare on the truck??? Let's not even talk insurances, they are in the thousands! Now what's my time worth for 5 days work? Nothing? No sorry son cant play soccer daddy works for cost only. No sorry honey cant go out to eat, welfare wont pay for sit down food. Wait cant get welfare I make too much. I have nothing left but I make too much! So lets add $1500 and the insurances, and ware and tare, and my PROFIT and we got lets say $1200, this is very fair! Get'n right up to $2800! A buck a mile is standard! NEXT--> (2/18/2006)
Question: --->Shipper I do this to make a good life for my family. Not an OK life. My truck cost 45k and why should I ware out my iron for anything less the LOW standard? Why should my wife and kids suffer not only not seeing daddy enough, but living in a trailer park and eating spam? I wont do it! Some drivers will. They don't know any better. After the factory closed the are just happy to keep the trailer warm and the NASCAR on the color TV. Now as for you ILEGAL haulers. You have nothing to say to me. You are law breakers and scabs. DOT is fully aware of the influx of wildcats. They are starting to stop little big trucks more and more. I got stopped hauling my own boat two weeks ago. Reason, he saw the tow equipment I had and thought I was hauling for $$$. I dont run my DOT magnet when I am off duty. This is why he stopped me. Two minutes of my time and a good laugh with the trooper at how many tickets he himself has written due to USHIP drivers and I was under way free and clear. NEXT---> (2/18/2006)
Question: --->If I see you out there and know you are ILLEGAL, I will pick up a phone and tip off the man. I don't care about you because you don't care about anyone but yourself. If you did care you would know and understand why the laws are in place. You roll your load or you crash, and that state farm that covers your truck only, wont pay my bills. It wont cover the family you just killed. And it wont cover the cargo. Shipper any driver that tries to convince you its OK to commit a crime should be a no brain'r. I mean come on. They have NO, ZERO, NADA ground to stand on with any kind of argument. PERIOD! They are trying to defend Illegal activity! This is not parking in a no parking zone. Again these laws are in place for a very good reason. To protect us all! So go apply for your authority or shut up! Shipper you decide makes no never mind to me. I have another load. Last note to the back hauler, lose the word. If one wants the back haul rate they all will want it! DUH! Man make some real $ (2/18/2006)
Question: You big "pro" chuckleheads talk this nonsense, especially the cost of 'going down the road' then cut each other's throats by bad-mouthing your fellow drivers and drop your price $20 below the other....for the price of a 6 pack and a small pizza you stick it to your fellow drivers. Ain't free enterprise great? Actually, those of us "in the know" do know what it is: without that high paying load, the bank is coming next week for that big pretty truck, and DOT is hot on the butts of those of you who've had your insurance cancelled for non-payment, and the violations that are too numerous to mention: all while you rant against the "illegals" out there with a burnt taillight killing families. Grow up, get a job. If you're relying on Uship to keep a trucking company going you're in sad shape. But that's obvious by the way you conduct yourselves on this site. No wonder the shippers play you like the suckers you are. Just remember:point a finger at someone else, you're pointing 3 @ yourself. (2/18/2006)
Question: Hello! I can do this for you in the next 7 days for $1.05/mile fully insured. Thanks! Glenn (2/20/2006)
Response: 7 days is a bit too soon for me as I don't have storage arranged in destination yet (2/20/2006)
Question: hell of a site---Insufficient feedback when a company has 13---got me scared to bid---ltlexpress (2/21/2006)
Response: I'ts not the quantity of feedback, there were a few negative feedbacks and Im a bit apprehensive about these sort of things (2/21/2006)
Question: Hi; Sorry about the time getting back. I was delivering a larg boat from Portland to Seattle this weekend. Yes that is firm on the $1.15 a mile. T. J. (2/21/2006)
Response: Thanks for getting back, I have a few other bids which I need to make a decision on (2/21/2006)
Question: Maybe higher feedback is required for a broker. (2/22/2006)
Response: .. (2/22/2006)
Question: Anyone can place feed back whether it is legit or just a good ole boy thing for a friend. Only honest people do not do that, All of us have to start somewhere. And legal haulers can have accidents the same as anyone else. Those remarks are all just trying to out do the others and talk you into getting the job. (2/22/2006)
Question: what feed back? I don't have any (2/22/2006)
Question: Shipper I am in ca. right now and can pick up boat Thur. I live in Mount Airy NC. so I'm sure we can work out a price. If you need the boat held a few days until delivery that would not be a problem. I am a professional Boat Transporter with full cargo insurance and authority in all states. I can provide you with insurance and dot. mc.# info if you want to check me out. I just dropped a boat in LA. and am on my way home.RESPOND QUICKLY!!!(boatman) (2/22/2006)
Response: I am flying to NC tomorrow...although Im not familar with the area and will need some time to find boat storage. Where will my boat be held while I look? Also, how does payment work. Some now, rest on delivery? (2/22/2006)
Question: Hello! If you will let me transport it in the next seven days,I can bring it to my house and store it for you until you are ready for it.No charge for storage. Thanks! Glenn (2/23/2006)
Question: Shipper do you want this done by a professional or a backyard hauler? I am still waiting for a response. You asked me to itemize, and I did. I know I came off harsh but 95% of that was directed to the trolls! I see you have 2 maybe 3 legal drivers here asking for your business. It maybe a few bucks more but your boat will be in safe LEGAL hands. Just because someone has 50 or so feedbacks and can buy cargo insurance per load doesn't mean they have any business on the road. Their time is close at hand! That's just simple math. Play Russian roulette too long and well, rent "The Deer Hunter" and you'll see! I am here for you and can help with the storage issues as well. Just ask me too bid if interested. Thanx! (2/23/2006)
Question: WOW. this is like reading a book. I would be interested in your shipment. Ron (2/23/2006)
Question: Do you still need this boat moved. We are hading to CA in March. We are from NC and very familiar with the area you are going to. If you would like a bid let me know. We have MC AND DOT numbers and carrier liability and cargo insurance.thanks (2/23/2006)
Question: Shipper this is as low as i can go. I am going to wait a little while longer for you to respond then I must head out for nc. I will place another bid for today only. Thanks (boatman) (2/23/2006)
