Questions for this shipment:
Question:
Is your trailer roadworthy and taged? (5/12/2008)
Response:
The seller assured me that the trailer is roadworthy. He volunteed to repack the bearings for the 1200 mile trip. The trailer has a spare tire. The seller will probably remove the current florida tags, usless I can convince hime to leave them on for trasport. Otherwise, I can apply for tags in my name and send them to you in advance. (5/12/2008)
Response:
Thank You, How far apart are the wheels from outside. It may fit on my Transport trailer. (5/12/2008)
Response:
Capt Jim, The seller measured the trailer width at 103" max. That was the width over the plastic fenders. The wheels are less than 8' 6" width. John (5/12/2008)
Question:
Hello shipper we can offer to transport your boat door to door for you direct freight for $1580.00 We are a boat shipper and the equipment we use to ship boats is only used to ship boats. All boats we ship are covered by insurance and we have not had a claim in over 300 successful shipments. We only use custom built cradles to carry the boats we ship. This puts the weight of the boat along the entire hull as opposed to just a few jack points of contact. We usually ship large yachts and high value boats but also offer small boat shipments. (5/12/2008)
Response:
"only use custom cradles"? What will you do with the trailer? (5/12/2008)
Response:
In your case the trailer used as the cradle. Sorry for any confusion. (5/12/2008)
Response:
How come you put your bid in "questions" and not in "bids"? (5/12/2008)
Response:
We dont want bids floating all over the place so we always have the ability to service everyone as personal as possible. (5/12/2008)
Response:
got it (5/12/2008)
Response:
Would you like a bid? Are you ready to arrange shipping as needed? (5/12/2008)
Response:
Sure TruTruk. I'm ready for a bid. Sounds like you are going to load the boat and trailer onto a large truck, and you won't be towing the trailer, right? What kind of truck? (5/12/2008)
Response:
Most likely a 2005 Dodge 5500 or 2007 Chevy 1 ton either has a 40' goosneck rated to 20k #'s (5/12/2008)
Response:
TruTruk, your quote is looking good. Does a delivery next week fit your schedule? (5/12/2008)
Response:
We can pick it up early or middle of next week with delivery transit time about 4 days. (5/12/2008)
Question:
can this go now (5/12/2008)
Response:
Ifeesel, It will not be ready til next week, May19. My check has to clear. (5/12/2008)
Response:
booked next week thanks lenny (5/12/2008)
Response:
thanks anyway (5/12/2008)
Response:
I will check and see if I can fit you in the end of next week thanks lenny (5/12/2008)
Response:
Lenny, end of next week would be excellent timing. Just in time for Memorial Day weekend madness on the lake. John (5/12/2008)
Question:
sorry not in your area at this time (5/12/2008)
Question:
hello ken here please click on my name and review my feed back and profile i have a place in fl and wi and run back and forth if you provide me with the plate i can tow this up to you end of the month after the check clears and the plate arrives for 1200.00 if your ready to lock in a bid and get it on the calander let me know and i will place the bid thanks ken (5/13/2008)
Response:
Hey Ken, What's a plate? I'm always hauling toys between Chicago and Fla. John (5/13/2008)
Response:
license plate sorry ken (5/13/2008)
Response:
Ken, The seller's license plate is expired, so it's not an option. I hope to have a new plate in my hand by friday May 16th, but it may take longer. When I have the plate in hand, I can overnight the plate to the seller or to you. John (5/13/2008)
Response:
that would be fine would you like me to place the bid to lock in the load and price and we can wait for the plate to arrive thanks ken (5/13/2008)
Response:
Ken, Thanks for the bid. Some of the other haulers have a commercial towing plate and/or a trailer of their own. That saves me the headache of overnighting the title to me, waiting in line at the DMV, and overnighting a plate to you. I'm leaning in the other direction. John (5/13/2008)
Question:
how about $1550 door to door? please let me know asap so i can submit a formal bid. We are fully insured with over $300k in liability. (5/13/2008)
Response:
Towmasters, Do I have to supply a valid license plate for the trailer? Or do you have a hauling plate, or a trailer of your own? If I accept your bid, what's you schedule look like for the next couple weeks? John (5/13/2008)
Response:
I have a state of florida wrecker plate. that basically means i can haul anything that is "disabled" in some form or another such as no marker lights or brake lights, the no tag thing i don't think would be an issue. i am pretty much sitting around my house with nothing to do here in Tampa. I was thinking give you a good deal going up and give someone a good deal coming back and maybe I can pay rent this month! one more thing, the bimini top on this one goes down right? (5/13/2008)
Response:
Towmasters, Bimini goes down. Does a pickup Monday may 20, tuesday may 21 or wednesday may 22 work for you? John (5/13/2008)
Response:
I have an open schedule and i don't see a problem with the dates. i take it the price is good then. If you don't mind i will need a day or two to secure a backhaul then i will submit a formal bid. There are plenty of things moving south so it shouldn't be an issue. (5/13/2008)
Response:
Towmaster in Tampa, I still waiting for my check to clear so the seller will release the boat. I hope to know more today or tomorrow. Sorry to keep you hanging. John (5/14/2008)
Response:
no worries! i am a patient person. we are still looking for a return load anyways. (5/14/2008)

Response:
Ray, that sounds good. Do you need me to provide a valid plate for the trailer? Some haulers provide their own, which I'd prefer. John (5/14/2008)
Response:
i have my own transport tag. ill hopefully know something on a exact date by the weekend thx ray (5/14/2008)
Question:

Question:
what do you need to book this shipment today? Dave/KingTransport (5/15/2008)
Response:
Dave, I need my check to clear the sellers bank. I hate to turn someone loose on a shipment that's not ready for pickup. You never did tell me where you're starting from. John (5/15/2008)
Response:
I am here in Atlanta (5/15/2008)
Response:
I'm not playing games and I'm not giving everyone the same answer. I've got a shipment that's not released, and I'm trying to keep a couple options open. I've only got three active bids. John (5/15/2008)
Question:
do you have a estamate on when it will be ready for pick up. I am trying to give a pickup window to another customer. Dave (5/15/2008)
Response:
Dave, I estimate that it will be clear for pickup on Tuesday, may 20, and I think I will be able to confirm a pickup date tomorrow or Saturday. Sorry to keep you hanging. John (5/15/2008)
Question:
I see you are giving everyone the same answer. I don't have time for games if you are not in need of our service please decline our bid. Dave (5/15/2008)
Response:
You got it (5/15/2008)
Question:
Shipper I am in the area of Sorrento Florida which is very close to your pick up location. I am available any time. If you have a tag I could transport the boat for you. I will make a bid. Let me know if you would have a tag? (5/15/2008)
Response:
Rlemond, the sellers plate expired and it will be a while before I have valid plates. I'm going to work with someone that has a haulers plate. John (5/15/2008)
Question:
John how's things going with your boat just checking in .. rippin1 (5/16/2008)
Response:
Duane, I spoke with the seller yesterday at 2 and my check had not yet cleared. I plan to call him again today. Thanks for checking. John (5/16/2008)
Response:
John sorry about that Dave guy being so rude to you he can cancel his own bid he doesnt have to wait for you to do it not sure what he's thinking I like playing games hahaha !! ... ripp (5/16/2008)
Response:
Hey Ripp, Thanks for the support. Unfortunately, another day has come and gone, and my check has still not cleared. If my shipment expires on Monday and my check is not cleared, I'll relist the shipment after the seller has released it for pickup. John (5/16/2008)
Response:
OK I will look for it.. you know if your sure everthing is gonig to clear you can just take one of these bids we will need time to get there anyway . I have had bids accpeted a month before we did the haul .. and if anything went south you can always get your depostit money back from uship .. we do not need any money until we dropoff the unit ... ripp (5/17/2008)
Response:
Ripp, I'm going to wait until the seller clears the shipment before I accept a bid. I just heard from him Sat AM, and my check was not clears. Sorry, John (5/17/2008)
Question:
could this go closer to the end of the month? (5/17/2008)
Question:
so can we be expecting to schedule your shipment? (5/17/2008)
Response:
I will check your schedule as soon as the seller gives me the OK to pickup the boat. John (5/17/2008)
Response:
i think we just posted to the Q&A at the same time. that's cool. i was looking at making a run up to Baltimore this week but the fellow seems to be holding off for something.. i prefer residential deliveries over business to port. If the price is an issue let me know I really need $1500 to make the run work, but i don't want to lose a job over $150 dollars. (5/17/2008)
Question:
not to be pushy, but i am curious as to what factors will determine what shipper you will use. we would like to get this haul and are considering canceling other bids to free up our schedule for you so you could have your boat by the end of the week, but we do need to know soon. (5/17/2008)
