Boat Information
  • Length16 ft.
  • Width6 ft.
  • Height3 ft.
  • Weight590 lbs.
  • On TrailerYes
Additional Information: Boat weight does not include motor (weight of motor approx. 120 lbs.) and accessories. I would also consider receiving the shipment in the tri-city areas of Lexington, KY-Louisville, KY-Cincinnati,OH, as well as the metro Indianapolis, IN area. I would prefer for the package to be hauled via flatbed trailer, but transporting boat on its own trailer is an option. Boat/trailer could be picked up at a local marine dealership with a hoist; likewise for drop-off. I would gladly arranage and pay for this service in advance. Trailer has 2" coupler and flat-4 wiring harness. Package is insured and is covered by Roadside Emergency service. Report a Violation

Questions for this shipment:

Question: Shipper, I am located 40 miles east of Lexington. I use to live in Nicholasville, I have been to Wilmore many times. What is your target price for getting the boat delivered? Thanks, Phillip. (8/9/2006)
Response: Hi, Phillip. It will cost me about $300 in fuel expenses to go get the boat. Therefore, if I can find someone coming this way (Dallas to Lexington), I would pay up to that amount. Let me know if that is of interest to you. Thanks for the inquiry. Brad (8/9/2006)
Question: Brad - I wanted to mention that you should consider the fact that haulers are paying for fuel, insurance, tires, etc., plus we have to make some profit or why else do this? Also, consider the fact that you would not be spending like 28 hours behind the wheel (plus hotel) to get down there and back. That's worth something too. With that said, I could get your boat to you this weekend or next for $725. Let me know if you're interested and I'll enter a bid. Thanks. (8/10/2006)
Response: Thanks for the response. I'm simply hoping to find a deadhead returning from TX toward KY who would like to reclaim some miles. The opportunity cost of hiring someone is my loss in visually inspecting the boat prior to acceptance, therefore my time driving myself has some value. (8/10/2006)
Question: OK, I don't blame you for trying to find a deadhead ... that's reasonable. And you're right, inspecting the boat will give you value to driving down there. If you get to the point where my question/proposal may work for you, let me know via answering to this question. Good luck finding a good hauler, they're out there. (8/10/2006)
Response: Thanks, Jason. I'll keep it in mind. (8/11/2006)
Question: SHIPPER, I CAN PICKUP YOUR BOAT ON MONDAY AND DELIVER TUESDAY MORNING. BUT CONSIDERING THIS IS MY JOB (DEADHEAD OR NOT) THE BEST I CAN DO IS $700...THAT IS THE GIONG RATE ON THIS SITEFOR THE MILES AND WELL BELOW THE NATIONAL RATE OF $1.50 + PER MILE.........THANKS BOATMAN (8/10/2006)
Response: I'm afraid that's a little outside my budget. Thanks, though. (8/11/2006)
Question: Hauling Pro's here............We will have a driver in TX around the 1st of Sept. and could pick up your boat then if that would work for you. The lowest I would be able to bid is 450.00. Please let me know if you are interested, and I will submit the bid. Thank You and we hope to hear from you soon. (8/10/2006)
Response: That price is approaching my target. However, I think I'd be more confident with an established "USHIP" shipper with a positive feedback history. Thanks so much for the inquiry, though. (8/11/2006)
Question: Will be deadheading back to Ohio from Denton, Tx. and would like to help you get your boat. Will be in Tx on 8/14 or 8/15. I'm still trying to get my first Uship load but you can see from my profile that I'll be well qualified for the job. Can the boat be towed to you on it's trailer? Does the trailer require a 2" ball? [My former Hertz-Pensky cube van has a fixed 2"ball.] If you'll accept my bid for $400.00 We'll get'er done! (8/11/2006)
Response: Thanks for the bid. We're definitely getting close on it. Yes, the boat can be towed on its trailer, except I'm not certain of bearings/rubber conditions. Shouldn't be a problem. However, I'd be more comfortable with an established provider on UShip because this is (for me) a high dollar item. That's why I declined the bid, but thanks so much for offering. (8/11/2006)
Question: Thanks for your quick response. I'll need to haul that first load some time to get the feed back that you require. So I'll lower the bid to $350. Will that work? Thanks for giving me a chance. I'll keep looking for that first load if you still can't use me. Delboy (8/11/2006)
Response: Thanks for following up. If you place the bid, I'll consider it, and if I decline it, I'll give you specific reasons why. The boat is very near to Denton, TX. My only concern about trailering that far is b/c the boat/trailer has sat for a while and I'm not sure of bearing conditions. (Seller has advised that they are in good condition w/"bearing buddies"). In your bid, please advise as to how you would handle a breakdown relative to the boat/trailer enroute. Bear in mind that if we strike a deal, I will provide payment per my listing immediately upon delivery (I'll need an accurate ETA), and will provide prompt, detailed, and accurate feedback. (8/12/2006)
Question: is there a way to set this on our emmpt trailer my driver is in texas today coming back to columbus ohio thanks jk (8/12/2006)
Response: Hi again. I just spoke with a Tracker marine dealer in Lewisville (just a few miles from Argyle) who would be willing to hoist the boat/trailer onto a flat bed. I would just need to be sure that you secure the package to the trailer well. My target price remains in effect. Feel free to respond by bidding. (8/12/2006)
Question: Service Provider will be able to deliver directly to the Wilmore location. Will this help make the bid acceptable to you? Thanks, Delboy (8/13/2006)
Response: Can you say at this point what your approx. pick-up and drop off times will be? (8/13/2006)
Question: Pickup at 8AM on 8/15. Deliver After Noon on 8/16. Would this be acceptable? Thanks, Delboy (8/13/2006)
Response: Sorry to have missed the bid window. I am interested. If you would be willing to re-post the bid at $300 with those approx. times you gave me, I'll accept, pending details of the bid. (8/13/2006)
Question: If a Carrier goes NOT have an MC (Motor Carrier) number, then they have NO Insurance on your shipment either! Have to have Ins proof before the Government will issue an MC number. If you have NO MC #, you are illegally operating!!!!! In most cases the carrier has to have a DOT number as well because of the weight of the vehicle that they are operating!! Advise to you the shipper. DO NOT USE THEM! Use FEEDBACK on U-Ship and http://li-public.fmcsa.dot.gov to verify a carrier’s credentials. You can find out about their Ins coverage, operating authority, accident history etc just by simply doing a Carrier search under the Licensing & Registration section (8/13/2006)
Response: Thanks for the advisory. I've read your feedback and would love a bid from you at my target posting. (8/13/2006)
Question: I'd love to help you. BUT, I don't have state registration authority for any state north of TX. I only run east/west. CA to NC and in between. (Veterans Transport) (8/13/2006)
Response: How far north could you come relative to Bowling Green, KY, or Nashville, TN? I'd be willing to meet the shipment for a competitive bid. (8/13/2006)
