Questions for this shipment:

Question: Bye any chance, do your weights you list, have an extra "O" In them? I can't imagine a single pallet weight of 9,000 lbs. Please double check your listing and confirm. (7/19/2008)
Response: Hi, you are right. We made a mistake. Each pallet weighs about 440 lbs - 528 lbs. 7 pallets for 440 lbs and other 7 for 528 lbs. The total weigh for the shipment is 7392 lbs. (7/19/2008)
Response: Is there any chance that (2) Pallets could be broken down and stacked ontop of the 12 others? Also- How are you going to offload at a "Residence" per your listing? (7/19/2008)
Response: Yes, it is possible. On the NY warehouse, we can break down the pallets and move around. In the destination, the pallets will be stored in a 2 car garage. If you only have a driver to pick up and drive to VA, then we can hire a temporary worker to unload the pallets. Or if your driver has the tool to unload, then quote me accordingly. Thanks. (7/19/2008)
Response: Ok, this sounds good. Sorry about all the "Back & Forth" - that is the tough part of using USHIP. Anyway........If you see our profile, our trucks have 2500lb lift gates, and we run with a 2500lb pallet jack in the truck, which you'll see in one of the photos. (7/19/2008)
Response: I have read some good feedbacks about your company and seen the photo of the truck. A trustworthy company. (7/19/2008)
Response: FYI - our primary business is that we're a Federal Government contractor, as our main line of work. We do USHIP in between contracts to keep the trucks generating revenue, and to keep busy. Most the time, I do the trips myself, to keep the cost reasonable to people who do business with us. (7/19/2008)
Question: PHEW ! I thought that seemed awfully heavy! Ok, Now - What is on the pallets or what is it your shipping? Do you have any interest in partial Shipment - at a Cost per pallet ? Our largest Dry van is 24' X 8' Wide, so we could take up to 12 pallest - 42" L each, thus my inquiry. (7/19/2008)
Response: Hi, those are wind turbines. Each pallet contains 8 wind turbines. You don't have to use pallets when shipping. But using pallets will make the loading and unloading easier. Each wind turbine is packed in a box with measurement: 47 x 18 x 9 or 47 x 22 x 9. Weigh 55 lbs or 66 lbs. (7/19/2008)
Response: Ok, well with the pallets being 48"H, that would give me a lot of additional "Head" space to the roof of our truck box, to stack them higher and make them fit. Will the boxes of the 8 original turbines take the weight of a few more on top without bruising or causing damage to the ones at the bottom do you think? If this could be done safely, and save space, I think we could offer to be of service to you. (7/19/2008)
Response: The boxes are very sturdy, We shipped those turbines from overseas and stacked them to the top of the roof on a 20 ft container. They will not be damaged. Thanks. (7/19/2008)
Response: ok, that answers my question about the box strength. (An important consideration, one I ask based on experience) I think I know all I need to. Finally, "WHEN" do you want this done? What hours of the day can I make the Pick Up at Origin, and what days of the week? If I make an early morning arrival, I'll have them to you the same day, so also consider that the day I pick them up, they will be at your garage roughly 6-8 Hours later - same day. (7/19/2008)
Response: In terms of "When", I am flexible. Anytime before the end of this month will work. You can go to pick it up 6 days a week, Monday to Sat. If you need an early pickup (before 8:00 am), please let me know. I can make an arrangement for you. The normal business hour is from 8:00 - 5:00 Monday-Friday. Any hour outside the normal business hour will need a special arrangement. If you pick up at 8:00 am, your driver shall deliver at my garage around 4:00 - 5:00. Traffic on I-66 shall be just opposite (no traffic, if you come from I-81). (7/19/2008)
Response: 8 am pick up would be a great arrangement, and we'd likely prefer to do a weekday M-W. So that gives us the following dates; July 21-23, or July 28-30. Your garage space I'm assuming is ready for receipt now? Also, for this load please note that our terms of payment will be 50% upon booking, and 50% balance on delivery in VA. Accepted payment via Credit Card, Cash, Certified Check, Money order only. We do not accept any "personal" checks. (7/19/2008)
Response: Let's target on July 22 or 23. Both days at 8:00 am will be good. The garage is ready for receipt. We can pay by company credit card. No problem for 50% down at pick up and 50% at the time of delivery. Please give us a bid. Thanks. (7/19/2008)
Response: OK - I did my GPS thing, and I'd be incoming on 81 very briefly then onto I-66 @ Exit 300. Roughly 6.5 7.5 Hours drive time, not including any mandatory DOT STOPS or Construction Delays. But I am readily available and will update along the way. I'm putting in the bid, and my intent is to pick up at 8 am on Wednesday 7/23/08 per your preference and my current schedule. Please note, my truck is not in "OLEAN NY" to start off with, so i have to deadhead there, so also please consider that when you review our bid - Diesel Fuel/miliage combined rate was 5.50/gallon to run the truck and service your requirement. LET ME KNOW and thnak you for the replies this afternoon. Please feel free to ask any more questions too! Thanks - PAUL (7/19/2008)
Response: Paul, your GPS looks right. I have posted a message to your bid. The actual cartons are 122 not 112. The warehouse may have miscalculated the number of the pallets. Please take a look and let me know if you need to update your bid or not. I understand the cost of diesel fuels, etc. Thanks. (7/19/2008)
Response: I saw it, and responded accordingly. The physical dimension of the wood pallets will likely cause me to leave all but a few behind at the Loading Origin in NY. We'll bring a few to make off-loading easy to your garage. (7/19/2008)
Response: Paul, I have accepted your bid. Please give me a call on Monday afternoon. I will give you the credit card info to pay for the first 50% down payment. So on Wed you can go straight to the warehouse. Thanks. Anne (7/19/2008)
Question: Ok, more calculations on my end - 112 boxes - 47 x 22 x 9"H - Will fit in roughly 1/2 of either of my trucks. How high can we "safely" stack them is the outlying question? Loading or Unloading with our equipment can be handled by the driver solo - no sweat. (7/19/2008)
Response: When we ship them from overseas, we stacked those boxes up to the ceiling in a 20 ft container. As long as you can stack them in, safety shall not be an issue. Our warehouse can load for you during the business hours. But if you go to pick them up outside the business hours, you may need to load and of course unload with your equipment. It shall not be a big deal to unload those turbines. I was in CA warehouse and watching unloading of the similar turbines. The pallets are not very tall. Thanks. (7/19/2008)
Response: Our bid of $2090.00 for your 122 cartons (*Revised from 112/ctns - thanks for clarifying it) works out to an average cost per item of $17.13/ctn. Was that reasonable for your consideration? (7/19/2008)
