Questions for this shipment:
Question:
Hi, Is this trailer road ready to be pulled behind a vehicle? Thank you (7/7/2009)
Response:
Given the length of the journey, I would prefer that the boat not be pulled on its own trailer. The trailer is functional, but I would be concerned about it on such a strenuous haul. (7/8/2009)
Response:
Hi, I have a business in Fontana, Calif and will be heading back for a short trip to Indiana in a few weeks. Towing a lighter boat is not any problem as long as the bearings are checked and greased and the tires are decent. I just wondered when your trailer/boat was built? I would like to submit a more reasonable bid and bring this home for you. Thanks, Marc/toynutt (7/9/2009)
Response:
The boat is a 1972, trailer came new with the boat. Trailer is very lightly used, not beat-up, only concern is that it hasn't been used in a while. It performed fine on a 400-mile journey in 2005, I just wanted to be careful on this cross-country haul. I would be willing to talk about a straight tow on the trailer if it would be safe and save a bunch of money. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks. (7/10/2009)
Response:
Hi, I just submitted a bid but please note it is for when I am returning directly home to Big Bear in August. You can check out my feedback and record. I am a fully insured interstate Motor Contract carrier (under 10,000 lbs) and interstate legal. Let me know if you are interested as I would appreciate the time to plan ahead. Ask questions. Thanks, Marc/toynutt (7/11/2009)
Response:
Do you have some kind of a rock shield or a way to protect the hull of the boat from highway kick-up during transit? Thanks. (7/16/2009)
Response:
Hi, You caught me on my compter again. I have never been asked that question before. No, I pull the boat behind my Van and of all the boats I have never had any problems. I stay on the main highways. I aways wrap windows and carry loose items (seats)in my van. I will gladly resubmit my bid if you like but I see you have a lower bid. Ask any questions and let me know. Thank you, Marc/toynutt (7/16/2009)
Question:
Sir I can clean and repack the bearings for you and if it needs tire I can tow it to a local tire shop and have them installed at your cost I also can rewire the trailer and install new LED lights so when you get your boat you can enjoy it instead of having to work on the trailer. Please checkout my profile and feedback, I think you will be pleased...... Thank you walbert52 (7/10/2009)
Response:
Thank you for your offer to work on the trailer. Are you only interested in working on the trailer or are you also interested in making the shipment? In either case, what would you expect to charge? Thanks. (7/13/2009)
Response:
The reason I'm willing to work on your trailer is to tow your boat as well, that way I'll know thr=e trailer is good to go for the olng haul. The old saying is you want it done right do it yourself, well if I do the work I know it was done and not just saying so.I have to pick up a new Catalina sailboat in CA around next Monday or Tuesday and tow it to St. Paul, MN in about 5 days, so if you can wait for me I'll send in a bid... Thank you for your time...wakbert52 (Wade) (7/13/2009)
Question:
Hi, My wife put the wrong bid on the wrong boat in Oklahoma. Sorry I will correct it this Friday. Thanks, marc (7/15/2009)
