Question: Hello from Shelby, NC. We will be going out to Hudson, IA (about 90 miles east of Ft. Dodge) July 19-22 to pick up our Percheron gelding. We could easily transport you Morgan on the way back, but I do not think we could fit the cart on board as well. Would this be an option for you? Transport to Atlanta would be three days, delivered in the AM on Monday, July 23. Free choice orchard grass and all overnight fees included; 2nd night would be at out barn in Shelby. Thanks, Nancy and Joe (6/29/2007)

Response: Nancy and Joe. Would you still be able to pick up my horse on the 19th. Thank you. Jiggs Baker (7/13/2007)

Response: Hello Mr. Baker. We may be able to help you, but it will require some jumping and several hoops. Short story, we have already booked another client on our return trip; our trailer is not large enough to accommodate your horse as well. If you are caught in a jam, we can provide two alternatives. #1) Your horse can ride with us from Iowa to Paducah, KY where we are picking up the other client. Paducah is about 380 miles from Atlanta. Provided you can guarantee meeting us in Paducah early on the 22nd, we can get you that far. #2) We will deliver your horse to Atlanta using two trucks. Understand, this will cost substantially more than our original quote (using twice the fuel, wear & tear on two vehicles, etc.). Let me know if either option will help you out and I will get you a quote ASAP. Personally, we would prefer the 1st option, but will try to help you out if we can regardless. Best of luck, Joe Talley [contact info removed] (7/13/2007)

Response: Could we schedule for a future date? (7/16/2007)

Question: Hi! When would you like your horse transported? We can do this for you with the carriage. We stop every few hours for water and to rest the horses. They have free choice timothy/brome hay all the time. We stop at a horse motel overnight, this would be included in the price of shipping. We have a 4 horse stock combo, 06 dodge dually. We have experience with horses, and would treat yours like our own. My wife is a lis. vet tech, and she monitors the horses closely during travel. She also has worked closely with Renee Page of Silver Maple Stables in Wright City, Mo. in her younger years. If you have morgans, I know you have met Renee or know of her.
If we can help let us know.
Thx Lonnie and Mary Hollaway/Rockin Horse Pony Rides (6/29/2007)

Response: Thanks for the fast reply. Sounds good.Could I ride there with you? I would be flying back. I deleivered 1 horse to the same place in Dec 2006 We drove straight through and it took us 22 hours. Ofcourse it was alot colder then. The price for horse and carriage would be $748.10 correct? Horse will be ready any time after July 15. She will be competing in a jumping show the 15th here in Iowa. Thanks so much. Jiggs Baker (6/29/2007)

Response: Hi! Sure you can ride with us. we stop overnight at horse motel to let horses rest. You are more than welcome to ride with us. Our truck is a dodge dually 4 door megacab diesel so we have plenty of room. Would like to leave this next week. Yes that is the correct bid. Hope we can help. Thx Lonnie and Mary (6/30/2007)

Response: If we can ship like the 19th that would be great. That way I could spend the weekend with the buyer. I can not stand smoke, so hopeing that will work with you. I am exited about the trip. I am a pretty quiet person.Tea drinker. Do have some horse stories as I have won 3 world championships with a horse that is now 32 and going strong. Had a very nice artical in the Nov 06 Practical Horseman. So this means I except the offer if we can go the 19th. Thanks much. Jiggs Baker (6/30/2007)

Response: Hi again! I'm sorry, my husband does smoke. Let me talk to him and see what he can do about that. Maybe he can take smoke breaks when he gets out of truck to rest and water horses. He has been a commercial driver so many years and smoked that many, so it is hard for him not to. Let me see what we can do. Thx Mary (6/30/2007)

Response: Mary. It is not that important that I go. It would be a fun trip. I can not sleep tonight as I rested to much during the day. I deleivered Nicoles (Owner)other horse in Dec. so I have been to Atlanta (2 hours). Nicole is flying to Fort Dodge on the 13th so she can show Star (the Horse) on the 15th. She has won the gold 3 years in a row. Going for 4. Nicole has rode and drove Star for 8 years Before she moved to Atlanta. So it is not like Star is new to her. I just sold Star to her lately. Nicole has shown her in 6 different states. The main thing is that Star and carriage get to Atlanta some time after the 15th. when we sign the contract then we will be able to talk on the phone. You know more about that then I. I love to talk once I get started, but know when to stop. Look forward to meeting you and your Housband. Jiggs (Nike name) (7/1/2007)

Question: Hi again from Shelby. Our trailer is a 16' stock combo, divided into two boxes of 8' each. Our Percheron gelding will be riding back, so I don't think we could get the cart in with them. As for riding with us, we don't mind, but we are driving a standard cab with a manual shift - I don't think you would enjoy it at all !! If you are looking for a ride out there, that may be a possibility, but the return trip would be awful crowded. We can bid 700 plus uSHip fees. We will not drive straight through; I think it is harder on the animals, driver and equipment. Pick up on Saturday, July 22, one stop enroute to Shelby, then delivered to Atlanta on Monday. All overnight fees included. Hope this is of some help - Regardless, best of luck with your Morgan. (6/30/2007)
