Question: hello, do you have a broker in the border? I usually ship cantera stone pallets from Jalisco going trough Laredo. Probably your cantera comes from Jalisco or a surrounding mexican State... (2/16/2009)
Response: Hello, No, I do not yet have a broker at the border. The product comes from near Queretaro, and has already been transported to Mexicali. One option I am looking at is to have someone just jump it across the border to Calexico, where I will meet them with a rental truck and drive it to Santa Barbara myself - unless I can find someone to truck it all the way there for not much more cost. Response: The total cost of product was $12,800.MN. So, at a conservative exchange rate of 14 pesos to one dollar, the value is about $914.00 US. (2/19/2009)

Response: It should be ready for pick-up in Calexico in the next 2 - 3 days. I'm just waiting for some final arrangements with a customs broker to bring it over the border from Mexicali. (2/23/2009)

Response: It looks like the load will be brought over from Mexicali on Mon., 3/2. So, it should be ready for pick-up on the morning of Tues., 3/3 at the warehouse of R.L. Jones Customhouse in Calexico. They can load it with a forklift. Would you be transporting this on a trailer? If so, does it tilt down and do you have a pallet jack that could be used to just remove the whole pallet? Or do you have another way to unload it? If the logistics can be worked out, $385. will work for me. (2/27/2009)
