Additional Information: I've already been offered the job at $450, but as far as I'm concerned, at that rate you could fit 23 more pallets on a 53' trailer and make $10,800 for this trip. Even with fuel at $5 per gallon, that's a $9,000 profit. If the trucker isn't getting that, I definately don't think the broker should. Report a Violation

Questions for this shipment:

Question: Hi, what exactly is it? Will it be loaded with fork lift? When would you like it to go? Thanks (9/6/2007)
Response: It's 35 cases of a variety of soda pop. it will more than likely be loaded by forklift if not by dock. Delivery time is open as i still need to send a check to the bottler. Hope that helps, Josh (9/6/2007)
Question: 23 more pallets would be 51,000 lbs. You can only get 44,000 lbs on a truck. That rate is pretty darn resonable. You need to remember that Uship is going to take $30-40. Good luck. (8/6/2008)
Response: Using your scenario let's calculate that. My pallet at 2,100 lbs for $450 (which is a deal to you) and 23 others at 1,800 lbs, we'll even give the other 23 pallets a $50 discount at $400 each. That maxes out the truck at 44,000 lbs and means this driver will have picked up $9,650 worth of goods, have 24 charges of $40 each from Uship, for 1200 miles direct of driving, but let's say that driver goes out of his way 100 miles for each pallet and gets about 3 miles per gallon (that's less than the average of a fully loaded truck, this truck won't be fully loaded the whole time). these are worst case scenario's all around, and even there for this potential 5 day route the total of 3,600 miles driven at $5 per gallon is $6,000 in fuel and $960 in fees leaving $2,690 in profit. Someone is getting the hose here. I think I'm in the wrong business...add 5 days of food and no hotel charges. Do that 4 times a month and you make $10,000. (8/6/2008)
Question: Hello shipper: We will be in Chattanooga on Sunday. We'll hop on the hiway and pick up your soda for you on Monday...you could be quenching your thirst by Tuesday!!!(SH0947) (8/6/2008)
Response: I checked your feedback and the three cancellations of late worry me. But I know $hit happens and since you'll be in the area, I'm all for it. The pallet is wrapped and ready to go and will probably be forklifted on. You will need to supply a B.O.L. for the company. (8/6/2008)
