Question: 23 more pallets would be 51,000 lbs. You can only get 44,000 lbs on a truck. That rate is pretty darn resonable. You need to remember that Uship is going to take $30-40.
Good luck. (8/6/2008)

Response: Using your scenario let's calculate that. My pallet at 2,100 lbs for $450 (which is a deal to you) and 23 others at 1,800 lbs, we'll even give the other 23 pallets a $50 discount at $400 each. That maxes out the truck at 44,000 lbs and means this driver will have picked up $9,650 worth of goods, have 24 charges of $40 each from Uship, for 1200 miles direct of driving, but let's say that driver goes out of his way 100 miles for each pallet and gets about 3 miles per gallon (that's less than the average of a fully loaded truck, this truck won't be fully loaded the whole time). these are worst case scenario's all around, and even there for this potential 5 day route the total of 3,600 miles driven at $5 per gallon is $6,000 in fuel and $960 in fees leaving $2,690 in profit. Someone is getting the hose here. I think I'm in the wrong business...add 5 days of food and no hotel charges. Do that 4 times a month and you make $10,000. (8/6/2008)
