Questions for this shipment:

Question: Hello are there any special handling for your plant does it need to be inclosed during shipping i know the heat of the day is a problem can transport after hours. (7/17/2005)
Response: The plant should be in an enclosed space to prevent the leaves from direct sun and wind. But the space should be ventilated so that the plant does not suffer heat damage. (7/17/2005)
Question: I am interested in this shipment. I can pick it up the 22nd and have it delivered the same day for the $500. I will transport it in an enclosed trailer. If you are interested let me know as soon as possible. Thanks, Matt (7/20/2005)
Response: Is there ventilation in the trailer? How hot will it get inside? (7/20/2005)
Question: Hi 8/4-8/8 this your target date? or can it be sooner or later than your target date.I will be in tucson around 8/10 and returning 12th inclosed trailers get very hot i will see if i can work something out as to venting, cooling. (7/20/2005)
Response: I've made some new arrangements and the plant can be picked up after 8/8. It will be at the neighbor's house and can be picked up there. (7/20/2005)
Question: Hello I am going to tucson. the house I am buying is schedualed to be completed on the 10th for my inspection before I place place my bid I want to make sure the builder is on track with the completion date. (8/3/2005)
Response: ok (8/3/2005)
Question: Hi... Did this plant get shipped? I am going through your area this weekend headed to LA/SFO. I can ship your plant inside of my enclosed car hauler over night when it is cooler too for your target price ~ David (8/25/2005)
Response: David, the plant has not been shipped. I have been waiting for a response to questions I had for another shipper. It would be great to send the plant this weekend. I need to hear back quickly as I am leaving for Santa Cruz tomorrow morning and need to let the caretakers know what to expect. Thanks, MerlethePerle (8/25/2005)
Question: Hi... I can pick it up late tonight; this way it is riding in a cool (or as cool it can be at night) trailer too. However if it will fit into my 40' luxury motor coach; and I think it will ... it will be riding First Class ... smile. Should I enter a bid for your offered price of $500? (8/26/2005)
Response: I just got home and it's 8:30 PM. Yes go ahead and place a bid; it all sounds perfect. I'm leaving on Saturday morning so I will have to arrange with the neighbors for you to pick up the plant. It is on their patio anyway. Would you be willing to negotiate on the bid- say $450 since you are going to SF anyway? Please make your bid as soon as possible. Thanks. (8/26/2005)
Question: Hi... when I didn't hear from you by late afternoon yesterday, I headed north and am in "Lost Wages" NV this morning. However I could circle back down to your AZ home, but I couldn't do it for $450. However I might be able to pick it up on another trip through your AZ location. Otherwise I would have to charge extra for back-tracking. However we did have a good plan earlier as I have a cool (A/C) for it to ride in... David (8/27/2005)
Response: When do you plan to be traveling through Phoenix again? It would love the air conditioning but I have to admit, it's a big plant. (8/27/2005)
Question: I'm from Phoenix; I live West of MetroCenter and have a covered Pickup truck with cap; I can deliver your Phylo to Santa Cruz. I can deliver anytime; whenever you need it delivered. (8/27/2005)
Response: What is the height of the space in the covered pickup? Is there any ventilation? Can you deliver it when the weather cools off? What would be youur price? Thanks. (8/27/2005)
Question: shipshape ...do yourself a favor, as that plant wouldn't last an hour inside of a 110 to 120 degree or more pickup cap and then you would end up buying her a new plant in the bargain too. David (8/27/2005)
Question: my bed-to-roof clearance is 3 ft and my bed-length is 5.5 ft. I have a Jeep. (8/27/2005)
Question: Sorry to butt in the conversation. The plant will make it in a enclosed trailer with no A/C. Have hauled them for years like that and have never lost one yet. Sometimes they will go into shock but they always survive. Inside a Coach Carrier is the better option as it does have A/C. Don't mean to step on anyone's shoes but to just keep the customer informed. Good Luck (8/27/2005)
Question: OK... todd12770 shipshape says he has a 36" high clearance in his pickup cap, with a 5'.5" long bed; making it hardly an enclosed trailer... but you seem to have it all figured out, so you take care of the customer as it seems that I have been out classed... David (8/28/2005)
Question: Sorry, to offend you Luxury, wasn't trying to. Shipshape can't do it as the plant is to tall and you can't lay the plant down. I'am not even in the area, you've got the best option. We are all professional drivers trying to make a little extra money, not saying I 'am out classing you. Just keeping the customer informed, that's all. Good Luck. (8/28/2005)
Question: Merle, I didn't have enough time to answer your question yesterday; -I have a 2" ball hitch, so I can pull Phylo in a trailer if necessary. whatever it takes to get plant Phylo to Santa Cruz Happy and Healthy. I have a cap on my pickup bed with windows and screens on both sides, plus a cap/window in the cab. If Phylo can't be shipped horizontally, then I can transport Phylo in a trailer. However, I think we could transport Phylo at a 45 degree angle. We'll do whatever is necessary to transport Phylo safe and secure. I'm an ex-Marine and I get the job done. I've handled explosives and have a Master's Degree in Health. I know how to transport with critical care, plant or patient. (8/28/2005)
Question: To Todd & Shipshape, I was only responding based upon the known information at the time and nothing more. As for my abilities to also possibly handle the transport of this plant, while admittedly it has been quite some time ago, for 2-yrs. I earned straight “A”s in my horticulture classes from the U of Hawaii and can transport it in a full upright position, inside of my triple A/C coach. However I have moved out of the area now and am not scheduled back for another 2-wks. ~~ Best of Luck to all… David (8/29/2005)
Question: To the customer 1.) We are all attempting to do our very best out here and sometimes things get a little confused, 2.) I am heading west from Texas at this moment and could swing north from Tucson to pick up your plant if I hear from you soon enongh. My other option is I try to visit my dad in Tucson often and I could probably make this work on a later trip too ~ David (I'll check e-mail again before midnight) (9/1/2005)
Response: I've been in Santa Cruz and can't respond to uShip emails from there because the email system won't accept cookies. I'm now in Phoenix and am wondering when you will be back out this way and what you will charge me. Thanks, Merle (9/1/2005)
Question: An enclosed truck that has a refrigeration will do correct? Can Set the system so your plant can survive the heat and coldnest. Must set it at a temp. that it is used to. (9/4/2005)
Question: Merle, I would love to get a response by Monday morning. You are probably off enjoying our Labor Day weekend. (So am I!) Cheers! mikec333 (9/5/2005)
Response: Mike, I've been out of town and haven't been able to respond to your UShip email's because my system doesn't accept cookies. Are you still able to take my plant? Also what does PayPal cash fund mean? I am used to paying through PayPal using a credit card. Thanks, Merle (9/5/2005)
Question: Hi... I am guessing that my next trip thru your area (to see my dad who lives in Tucson) is going to be the 2nd./ 3rd. wk of Oct. Take care, David (9/7/2005)
Question: I will do this. I used to own Phyl. Vented Enclosed Trailer. I will mist leaves periodically along the way and keep soil moist. Trip will be less than a 24 hr day & will be a straight shot. Please respond ASAP. Thank-you (9/17/2005)
Response: mrbreeze, are you still available? (9/17/2005)
Question: shippment is still available? (9/21/2005)
Response: Yes (9/21/2005)
Question: How do you get this though the California inspection point if they are checking? (9/22/2005)
Response: I have had the plant inspected by Arizona Dept of Agriculture. They gave it a clean bill of health. I have the certificate with this indicated. (9/22/2005)
Question: I will be comming back from Tucson, Az on Oct. 2nd or 3rd. can bring to my home base in Los angeles, Ca. for $350. and you can p/u there or will take to your requested drop off for $500.00. I have an enclosed trailer with vents and tie downs and load holder to safely secure the PLANT. Thanks, Jim (9/22/2005)
Response: You need to make a formal offer through the bid process. Thanks. Merle (9/22/2005)
Question: Hi Merle, Boy this is becoming a not so very short story for you... "The Plant That Couldn't Find Its' Way Back Home". Well as I said earlier, I am about to stop by and see my dad again in Tucson in a week or so, should I schedule a stop too for Bob; that's a good name for a fine upstanding tall green plant isn't it, along the way back up to the Bay? David ... my price is the same. (9/25/2005)
Question: Merle> My "BID" will expire in a few hours and I don't think I can extend it. So will put another "BID" in. Have you heard from your nieghbor yet. I can not give my # out till bid is acepted (Uship rules) but as soon as you except bid you will automatically get it an you can call me. I will also be checking the web site today. I am sch. other loads in the bay area but not till this is confirmed. Thank. Jim (9/26/2005)
Response: My neighbor will be home on Saturday. The plant is heavy. Do you have a dolly? Do I need to get others to help you load the plant? (9/26/2005)
